Tale of the Red Dragon Without Dragon’s Might
Chapter 419: 413 Laksha Visits Volcanic Island
Chapter 419: Chapter 413 Laksha Visits Volcanic Island
If you don’t behave, you get punished. Even Red Dragons have learned to spend money on goods instead of taking them by force. Cecilia didn’t pay much attention to the Black Dragon’s wild and cruel nature.
As long as the Black Dragon dares to come, she dares to welcome him, although Leon would be the one to make the final decision.
Cecilia was the first to land on the docks, stepping onto the neat stone slabs, and then looked back at the Black Dragon, who was gliding behind leisurely… able to keep up with her flight speed. It seemed that this particular Black Dragon had some skills.
Laksha followed right after, barely landed and started looking around, as the guards on the dock were too strange. Fully-armed small giants with orange-red lizard heads, but they were not Half-Dragons.
“Those are Salamanders.” Cecilia noticed the Black Dragon’s gaze, and there was a hint of pride in her tone.
“Salamanders?” Laksha repeated.
As a Black Dragon, Laksha inherited from her parent and lacked information about Salamanders, but she had been to numerous places and read many books—she was not a Black Dragon who loved to nest in rotting forests and swamps—in a way, she was well-informed, “I’ve seen Salamanders, they don’t look like this.”
“It just means the Salamanders you’ve seen don’t look like this.” Cecilia chuckled softly, “Our Salamanders look like this. Incidentally, their strength is even greater than Fire Giants.”
Salamanders have a challenge level of 5, and those that have acquired humanoid form are elites and top of their group, with quality equipment, indeed not inferior to Fire Giants, although limited to regular ones, Cecilia wasn’t exaggerating.
Laksha did not respond, as her sight was firmly drawn to the towering Mage Tower, especially the large crystal at the top that captured her heart.
“I advise you not to have any ideas about that crystal.” Cecilia stretched her long neck, “That’s the Focusing Eye, one blast can turn you to ashes.”
“I don’t believe it.” Laksha raised her head, she wasn’t so easily scared.
Cecilia didn’t bother explaining further, elegantly striding forward. Truth be told, she was curious to see the reckless Black Dragon take on the Focusing Eye; after all, it wouldn’t be her getting blasted into bits.
Suddenly, a fiery figure swooped down from the volcano’s mouth.
Salovis flapped her broad Dragon Wings, gracefully landing on the docks. This homebody dragon, who did nothing but eat and sleep all day, rarely took the initiative to move, all because she saw the unfamiliar Black Dragon by Cecilia’s side.
“Wow, a new face.” Salovis excitedly leaned close to Laksha, her snout almost touching Laksha’s face, surprisingly scentless, “Are you here to join my brother?”
“Salovis.” Only Leon and Anglistra could keep Salovis in line on the volcanic island, Cecilia, of course, couldn’t, allowing Salovis to impolitely circle around Laksha, “You’re seeking Leon’s sister.” she introduced.
Although still a young dragon, Salovis was a Red Dragon, her physique was comparable to both Cecilia and Laksha. Despite her arms and thighs looking somewhat round, and a faint hint of a primal pouch on her belly, it did not hinder her charm, causing Laksha to bare her teeth.
“Hello.” Laksha greeted.
“It’s not really good.” Salovis said, “Because you didn’t give a meeting gift.”
Laksha opened her mouth but restrained herself from saying—no money, just one life.
Salovis didn’t seem very interested in the Black Dragon, she just joined the fun and then fluttered her wings and walked away, leisurely flying back to the volcanic island.
Watching Salovis’s back, Laksha thought it made sense that she was the named sister of the Red Dragon by Tiamat, her extraordinary nature was understandable, her expression returned to normal.
As soon as Salovis’s silhouette disappeared into the volcano’s mouth, another blue figure streaked across the sky.
Tassera mostly stayed secluded, either researching magic in the Mage Tower or buried in books, occasionally going out for relaxation, to unwind her mind. At this moment, she spread her wings, circling in the sky, spotting Cecilia and the unfamiliar Black Dragon from afar, yet she didn’t land, just calmly flew over them.
“Blue Dragon…” Laksha looked up at Tassera, far exceeding the mass of an adult Blue Dragon’s enormous body, each scale was like a finely carved blue gemstone, having perfect proportions—except for the short neck characteristic of Blue Dragons, without flaw, she whispered, “That’s Queen Tassera, right?”
“What’s so impressive?” Cecilia’s tail slapping the ground irritably, said sourly, “She just met Leon a bit earlier than I did. If I had met Leon first, I would be the queen now.”
“She seems just matured.” Laksha squinted in confusion, “Why is her size so large?”
“What’s there to be surprised about?” Cecilia said indifferently.
Laksha hesitated, finally whispered, “Size isn’t of any use.”
“Do you know what you are saying?” Cecilia turned abruptly, “She’s a Storage Dragon, a mage proficient in shaping energy and illusions, her spells are far more threatening than sharp teeth and claws.”
Laksha fell silent, considering that as the queen of that Red Dragon, there must be something special about her to gain favor; extraordinary size was indeed naturally deserved.
Just calmed, Laksha realized, whether it was the Green Dragon beside her or the Blue Dragon just passed overhead, what made them exceed their peers, was it Tiamat’s grace or genetics, or dragon madness? There’s no rule forbidding it… How could she possibly stand out among these ‘monsters’?
No worries, there was still a bronze dragon, she surely couldn’t be outdone by the bronze dragon, Laksha quickly shrugged off her anxiety.
Isilia, while hung with the diplomat title, was very leisure indeed, different from Salovis in that she liked to transform into a human shape, leisurely strolling around the alleys of Watchtower Port, upon hearing that a Black Dragon appeared in the port, another Colorful Dragon? Leaving her dessert, she hurried back to the volcanic island.
“Is that Silver Dragon?” Laksha found some confidence seeing the Silver Dragon, deliberately strutted her somewhat more immense body, “Her size isn’t as big as mine.”
“She’s a teenage dragon.” Cecilia reminded, as if she thought of something funny, shaking her head, “The young girl thought others couldn’t tell, but everyone sees clearly… You wouldn’t guess, it’s hilarious, she likes Leon, a Silver Dragon likes a Red Dragon.”
Laksha forced a couple of awkward but polite smirks.
“But there’s nothing peculiar about it.” Cecilia suddenly became serious, “Besides Leon’s mother, including his sister, from dragons to those Tiefling, Half-Elf maids, who on the volcanic island doesn’t fancy Leon?”
“Alright. You want to join Leon, so I’ll take you to meet him.” Cecilia said.
Cecilia and Laksha went to the volcano top, seeing Salovis sprawling on the observation deck, but no trace of Leon.
“You’re looking for my brother?” Salovis opened her eyes and closed them again, “He’s not here.”
Cecilia asked around, found out Leon was not on the volcanic island but in the Forging Workshop outside Watchtower Port.
Laksha finally saw the Red Dragon she was seeking, pupils suddenly contracted.
Brilliant red, dazzling light, shining scales covering a mountainous body, exuding an overwhelming presence.
A long neck connected to a majestic head, imposing dragon horns extending backward like a crown, powerful limbs brimming with visible strength.
Obviously a young dragon, yet having a physique rivaling an Ancient Red Dragon, but unlike the decrepit Ancient Red Dragon, he brimmed with vibrant vitality; he was the blazing Fierce Flame, the sun shining in the sky, not the dying embers.
Laksha suddenly found it hard to breathe, all her plots, all tasks vanished to dust at this instant, finally understanding why even a Silver Dragon would become infatuated, instinctively clamping her tail with her legs, scales rubbing against each other, making a “rustling” sound.
Heaven knows what Tiamat was thinking; since ancient times heroes couldn’t resist beauty, couldn’t beauty succumb to heroes?
Elbows always turn outward.
