Chapter 482: Chapter 474: Cecilia Gave Birth

How could little Isily escape Leon’s tricks? The poor little Silver Dragon could not evade the natural hunting instincts of a Red Dragon. By the time she noticed the water temperature felt off, it was already too late.

“You smell so sweet.”

Leon devoured Isily entirely, leaving not a trace. The reason he didn’t grandly announce that the Zhen Dan Kingdom had another Princess wasn’t that he was a cad; rather, Isily wasn’t ready yet. For a Silver Dragon to become the mate of a Red Dragon was quite peculiar.

Word spread across the Volcanic Island within a month about Leon successfully climbing into Isily’s bed—or rather, it seemed more appropriate to say it the other way around. To everyone else, Leon was obviously the more desirable match.

Except for Laksha, who was quite bitter about it, everyone else accepted Leon and Isily, as if they had long been prepared.

After all, Leon preferred the human form, liked moving around in that shape, and enjoyed human food, unlike other Red Dragons who preferred eating young humans or elves, or even forcing villagers to offer sacrificial maidens. Isily, too, favored the human form, making them two of a kind. Who hadn’t seen the two strolling the streets of Watchtower Port?

“I don’t look worse than her, do I?”

“My figure is obviously better than hers!”

“Why exactly?”

“I can’t just sit and do nothing!”

Laksha decided to do something, but needed preparation. For dragons, preparation time, even if it takes years, isn’t considered long.

In short, time passed day by day.

Once upon a time, it took Tassera three years just to nurture a dragon egg, which was unusual. She unexpectedly gave birth to Sharon, a Nether Dragon who could use spells right from birth, with a limitless future.

Cecilia was pregnant for less than a year before giving birth—normally, a Green Dragon’s gestation period is one hundred and twenty days—resulting in a single egg.

“Normally, a dragon should lay two to five eggs at a time, right?” Leon was quite curious. “Why is it that both you and Tassera only laid one?”

“Don’t ask me; I have no idea.” Cecilia panted, “Go ask His Majesty; maybe He can answer your question.”

“By the way, your egg is so large.” Leon examined the egg Cecilia laid, its diameter so wide that even an adult’s hands could barely encircle it. It was astounding that Cecilia managed to lay it without getting stuck, “It’s even larger than the one Tassera laid.”

Normally, a Green Dragon Egg is a small egg, and Cecilia’s egg, even if it were a hybrid of Green Dragon and Red Dragon, shouldn’t be larger than a typical medium-sized Red or Golden Dragon Egg, let alone bigger than Tassera’s egg.

“A larger dragon egg means a larger baby dragon, which will obviously grow larger.” Cecilia, who had always competed with Tassera, was very proud. She was confident that the egg she laid would hatch into a baby dragon surpassing the Nether Dragon in power.

Red Dragon eggs need to be incubated in direct flames, at a minimum temperature of sixty degrees. Green Dragon eggs need to be soaked in strong acid, or buried in rain-dampened leaves… Leon was clueless about all of this, letting Cecilia handle it. He brutishly placed the two eggs in high-temperature, acid-rich environments.

A year passed, and Cecilia’s dragon egg was about to hatch. Fiora still hadn’t conceived, beginning to worry about the reproductive compatibility between Metal Dragons and Colorful Dragons. After all, Metal Dragons were created by Bahamut, while Colorful Dragons were created by Tiamat.

“Why are you worrying about that?” Leon was exasperated. “Dragons can reproduce with beasts, humans, elves, giants, and monsters, all sorts of half-dragons. How could Metal Dragons and Colorful Dragons not produce offspring?”

“Alright.” Fiora fretted briefly before calming down. Mostly, it was because she had Isily to accompany her. If Isily were to conceive one day and she still hadn’t, she would definitely go mad.

The normal incubation period for a Green Dragon Egg is about four hundred and eighty days. Cecilia’s egg took almost two years, and they could finally hear the scratching sounds from inside the egg.

Leon stayed by its side early on, waiting a long time but not seeing the baby dragon break through the shell.

“That’s not right; why hasn’t it broken the shell yet?” Cecilia was quite anxious, almost to the point of tears. “Our child won’t be born with a congenital defect, will it?”

“When a dragon egg finishes incubating, the baby dragon inside must break the shell. If a parent is nearby, they often help by gently tapping on the shell; otherwise, the baby dragon must break out on its own.”

Leon exhaled and continued, “There’s never been a case where a baby dragon couldn’t break the shell on its own, indicating a congenital defect. Don’t be superstitious, don’t let worry cloud your judgment.”

“But Sharon didn’t need your help; she broke out so smoothly…” Cecilia argued, as women love to compare, “She just suddenly emerged.”

“That’s mainly because I’m awesome.” Sharon proudly raised her neck, just to be lightly thumped on the head by Leon, looking aggrievedly at him, “Dad, why did you hit me?”

“Quiet down. Didn’t you notice Aunt Cecilia is very worried? Cutting down on words won’t kill you.” Leon eyed the slightly trembling dragon egg, “Let me help.”

“Let me, let me.” Sharon, now about ten years old, being in a dragon’s childhood until fifteen, still looked like a young girl in human form, though her dragon form had grown towards super large size. However, achieving such a size requires at least reaching mid-adolescence.

“If I’m the first thing the baby dragon sees after breaking the shell, will it think I’m its mom?” Sharon’s eyes lit up.

“Do you think that’s possible?” Leon exhaled, “Don’t mess around, or I’ll have to punish you.”

Sharon giggled.

Ultimately, Cecilia decided to act, gently tapping the shell with her claws for a full minute without results. She exerted slightly more force but still no effect, finally deciding to peel the shell bare-handed.

Afraid of using too much force, Cecilia resolutely transformed into human form, carefully peeling the shell bit by bit, revealing the curled baby dragon inside. “So small,” she remarked.

“With such a large dragon egg, how could the dragon inside be small?” Leon doubted.

“Not only small, but also weak, looking like it has no strength at all, even breathing weakly.” Cecilia bit her lip hard. “How could I give birth to such a small and weak child?”

“It should be… entirely normal for it to be like this.” Cecilia sniffled, holding onto the arm of Leon, who had transformed into human form with her. “I was thin and weak from the start. I even had to collaborate with the Green Hag and Evil Ghost to make a move on an Elf Village during my youth. Getting to where I am today was all thanks to His Majesty awakening my bloodline and thanks to you…”

“It’s okay, it’s going to be alright.” Leon held Cecilia’s shoulder. “Even if our child is naturally fragile, as long as we take care of it, we can surely nurture it, just like we did with you.”

Cecilia nodded heavily, continuing to peel the shell, uncovering two heads and two tails…

“Deformed?” Only Cecilia could say this; she really cried.

Leon was a bit panicked as well.

“His Majesty has five heads; can you say He’s deformed?” Tassera’s rational perspective stood out as she stayed calm while others panicked.

“They’re not two heads and two tails; they’re two dragons.” Sharon screamed, “A double-yolk egg.”
