Taming the Hybrid Mate: Desired by Five Alphas
Chapter 150: Aria came to my rescue
CHAPTER 150: ARIA CAME TO MY RESCUE
Allison’s POV
Today marks the beginning of the fundraiser event, and today was the kissing booth day. Since I no longer have an unfaithful mate to worry about, I might as well just attend the event.
I dressed up in a magenta purple silk dress, put on my makeup the best way I could, and stepped out looking as gorgeous as always.
The night was cold and eerie, perhaps especially so to me. I had lost my mate and my friends at the same time.
Didn’t know what to expect, but I should have taken my feelings as a warning.
I was halfway past the herb garden that decorated the gate of the royal female dorm when I heard it.
At first, I stood and listened, but when it stopped, I continued to walk again. Then I heard it again, the faintest snap of a twig, followed by soft footsteps that seemed to be coming towards me.
I paused in my steps and turned, my body tensing up, ready to fight, but my wolf felt weak. She was emotionally torn apart by losing her mate.
"Allison," a voice whispered from behind me.
Before I could spin around, something rough covered my mouth, a cloth soaked in a pungent scent that made my head spin.
I bit down hard, tasting fabric and blood. The wolf hissed, their grip tightening, but I kicked backwards with all the strength I had, since Annie, my wolf, wasn’t going to assist me today, I might just use my combat skills.
When I turned around, I noticed that there were three of them, all masked. The one which I already hit was grunting in pain, while the other two surrounded me.
"Don’t let her escape!" she grunted, with her hands to her chin. I knew that voice, but I can’t place exactly where I heard it.
Just then, the other two held my hands. I head-butted the one of them, and she released me instantly.
But the other one seemed stronger; her hand seemed masculine. I struggled in her grasp, but she didn’t let go.
"Exactly. Now let’s see how you can fight this," that same voice said, coming closer to me. And that was when I recognized the voice. She was Liara.
I never expected Liara to be this dangerous. When she walked around with Aria, she seemed even more peaceful than Aria is.
She landed blow after blow on my face and stomach. I felt like I was going to pass out at any time, but I held myself.
The second she-wolf landed her blows after Liara was done, but her blows seemed weaker than Liara’s blows.
When they were done taking turns in hitting me, it was as if Annie got energized at that moment, "I can’t let them treat us like this. First, she has your mate, and now she beats us up," Annie growled, and in that instance, strength overcame me, and I pulled from the grasp the wolf who held me in place.
They held their stance and launched around me, each watching the other’s move. Just then, the second wolf threw a handkerchief on me. I think it had a potion that weakened wolves, because in that moment, my wolf passed out.
They rushed in unison towards me, the strongest grabbing my hands while Liara tied a chain around my hands, fastening it to the back.
They dragged me to an empty laboratory, under one of the tables, bound my legs and fastened me to the same table.
I tried fighting, tearing at the chains, but it was of no use; the more I fought, the more pain I felt around my ankles and wrists.
I was on the verge of passing out from the effect of the potion on the handkerchief when I heard their conversation.
"This was easier and faster than I expected. I thought the Alpha successors would intervene and stop us," Liara voiced out, with an evil laughter to back it up.
"Now we kill two birds with one stone. By the time they get here, depending on who comes first, it would look as if Aria had done it.
You have to make sure to make Aven believe that you heard muffled sounds at the lab, and it sounded like that of his sister.
Make him believe that you had seen Aria and Allison fight the other day, so that makes her a major suspect. You are a neutral wolf, Aven would accept you in that instance," Liara finished, then turned and left.
The other two walked back to where I was, and I shot my eyes slightly, pretending I had passed out. I didn’t open my eyes until I heard their receding footsteps.
And when I tried to open my eyes, all I could see was a blur, and slowly, everything turned black.
********************************
I woke up to the sound of someone banging at the lab door, and I didn’t know how they could do that, lock me inside the laboratory after beating me up.
I tried to make a sound, so the one on the door could hear, but it came out muffled.
Then suddenly, the one banging pushed the door open. "Allison, are you here?" the voice of Aria echoed.
I felt relieved and pity at the same time. If Aven comes in right now, he wouldn’t think she was responsible, but if he came a few minutes later, after she had found me, I fear their mate bond could be threatened.
If Aven ever gets to find out I hurt Aria, he would disown me. He had warned me several times, so I had tread cautiously even when Aria and I were rivals.
"Allison," she called out again. On reaching the table where I had been put under, I could see her feet.
She looked down, and her eyes were filled with horror as soon as she laid eyes on me. She quickly tried to untie me, but it only hurt her.
The chains were laced with potions that disabled anyone from untying me, except that they cut off the part of my body that had been chained.
Then my brother and the other two successors stormed into the laboratory instantly. Aven didn’t let Aria speak; he started to accuse her of my predicament.
I saw Aria’s expression deepen. I wanted to tell Aven to stop, but I was gagged, so I watched him make the mistake.
Aria rushes out and returns with a beautiful middle-aged woman. She made some incantations and poured a potion on the chain and then commanded Aria to release me now, which she did.
I did not doubt that this wasn’t a wolf; she was a witch. What is a witch doing in Ashwood, and how does Aria know about this witch? I’m going to find out about that.
