"Why are you rushing? Are you planning to head out without me?" he asked, a slow smirk grazing his lips.

He was trying to announce that we had bonded stylishly, and I knew that with the evil grin on his lips.

"Vin, I know what you want to do, and I’m not ready for that yet," I replied.

"Why? I mean, everyone already knows that I’m your mate, so they would be expecting anyway that someday this would happen," he objected.

"Damon didn’t expect that, Aven," I countered.

We walked out of his apartment. The day was already getting dark, but we could still hear noise coming from the entertainment hall.

"It seems like the show just began," Aven whispered against my ear.

His phone beeped, and a smile spread across his face as he read the message he got. I wondered what made him smile so much.
