CHAPTER 178: A FIGHT UNDER THE CRESCENT HALL

Andria’s POV

As soon as we arrived at the main hall, heads started to turn towards our direction, and soon they stopped moving their bodies to the music but stared and pointed towards Sir Kaelric and me.

I suddenly tensed beside Sir Kaelric, mentally preparing myself for a fight.

My skin prickled, and suddenly the music stopped. There was a shout of disapproval by other creatures who hadn’t noticed what was amiss.

But slowly, they started.

Kaelric noticed it, and he shoves Jackson. "Walk faster."

Jackson didn’t move. He stood still, shoulders straightening, chin tilting upward with defiance.

"What’s the rush, Sir Kaelric? Leaving so soon?. The main event is just about to start. You think you can just walk into my territory and walk out with me, just like that?"

Kaelric’s patience broke like thin glass. He was beside Jackson in less than a second, his hand gripping his collar, claws barely grazing his throat. "Don’t test me."

The room shifted. I grabbed Liara by the arm and pulled her closer to me, shielding her behind me. The creatures started circling us, as if trying to figure out what was going on.

A murmur rippled through them: anger, fear, tension. The creatures tended, getting ready to fight if Sir Kaelric touches their boss.

Jackson laughs mockingly, " Go on, do what you have in mind," then he turns towards me, "You think I would hurt Liara? Oh no, I still need her, she is my mate after all. I suggest you stay away, because Liara might harm you."

He then gave a side nod, and the creatures drew closer. Liara tried to attack me, and I dodged immediately, thanks to my sharp reflexes, pinning her against my chest.

Kaelric’s claws glinted under the dim light, and his voice was a dangerous whisper. "Try anything, silly creatures, and I’ll slit your prince’s throat before any of you even blink."

That stopped them at least for a while. Their loyalty to Jackson wasn’t enough to risk his death.

But it didn’t last long; Jackson gave them another nod, and they damned the consequences, rushing towards us.

Sir Kaelric and I took the protective stance, releasing both Liara and Jackson.

Then, suddenly, the entrance door behind us opened with a loud bang.

And there they were, the alpha successors, ready to fight. Their eyes locked in on me.

They were just giving each other cold shoulders at the field today, and suddenly, they are here together, which felt weird.

The room grew more tense as a Fae stepped forward, bringing forth an enchanted blade, and lunging it forward towards Sir Kaelric, which he dodged.

Then looked towards the trio, "What are you three doing here? You aren’t supposed to be here."

"That’s not a question you should be asking; you need us to take on this crowd," Tristan replied, moving forward, throwing an iron stake at the Fae who just attacked Sir Kael.

The other creatures became agitated and launched attacks, prompting us to fight back. Soon, the whole room was in uproar. I did want to expose my vampire side and go through the stress of compelling again, but it had side effects.

A blast of green flame surged across the floor, and enchanted blades and curses flashed across.

The club became a battlefield.

The rogue wolves shifted mid-air, claws clashing. Sorcerers conjured barriers that exploded like shattered glass. The Alpha successors leapt into the fray without hesitation.

Taking one or two wolves at the same time

"Aria! Watch out!" Kaelric warned as a witch cast a spell towards me.

I dodged it and pounced on her, devouring her.

"I never knew you to have this sort of power," Damon said as he drew closer.

"Then you have been blind," I replied, dodging another silver knife throw.

I moved faster; the crowd was too much to take all at once, and I had to call on that other part of me.

I felt the surge of energy overcome me; it synced with my wolf, and soon I was moving with speed, taking three or more creatures at the same time.

The look of horror in the alpha successors’ eyes killed me, but I had to do what had to be done to get out of here.

In the corner of my eye, I saw Jackson move towards the door very fast with Liara.

"Not so fast," I muttered.

Without hesitation, I drew a small silver knife from my sleeves and thrust it directly at Jackson.

The blade spun through the air, Landon directly at the targeted part, his left arm.

He groaned out loudly, slumping to the floor.

The moment the blade struck him, the room froze, and all eyes turned to his direction.

The blood dripping from his arm aroused me. I wanted to drink angrily from him until there was nothing left. However, on the logical aspect, I had to restrain my bloodlust.

The knife was a different knife; I had brought it specifically for Jackson and waited until the best opportunity presented itself.

Kaelric turned toward me, his expression unreadable, but his eyes said everything.

I walked to Jackson, calm and deliberate. He was on his knees, clutching his arm, teeth bared in pain.

"You made me do it, you can’t play smart on us. This knife is laced with something," I said softly, kneeling to meet his eyes. "Do you know what that means?"

He didn’t respond, just glared up at me, breathing heavily.

"It means," I continued, my tone sharp as I pulled out the blade from his arm, "your wound won’t heal unless your true mate is beside you."

He froze.

The blood was dripping uncontrollably from his hand.

"So let’s see how fast you heal, Jackson," I whispered. "Because I’ve been suspecting that bond of yours was fake all along, this could prove me right or wrong."

Liara’s eyes widened slightly with confusion, fear, and anger.

"Aria, you have no right to do this. How can I be sure that the knife isn’t laced with a poison meant to kill a wolf, regardless?"

"Liara, you are not yourself now. So I would forgive your utterance," I replied to her.
