Taming the Hybrid Mate: Desired by Five Alphas
Chapter 50: She reminds me of her
CHAPTER 50: SHE REMINDS ME OF HER
Zade’s POV
My phone came up. It was a live stream of a scene in the cafeteria.
The trio were gathered around a particular student as usual; they enjoyed bullying other students just for the spotlight.
I zoomed in on the video to discover that the student in question was Aria. I was suddenly very agitated.
They are trying to make her a public spectacle once more, and I’m not going to let the Alpha successors steal this moment from me again. I had to get to the cafeteria fast.
Although I never wanted to leave my comfort zone in the duel hall, I had to face the drama in the cafeteria. But if I had to do that to get a chance at winning or claiming her, I would.
I packed my drawing sheet into my backpack and moved out of the duel hall straight to the cafeteria like a man on a mission, which of course I am.
As I got to the cafeteria, A small crowd was already forming around them, their phones on the air, recording the altercation.
As I watched from the entrance, the altercation between Tracy and Aria somehow reminded me of the times I had watched Andria fight with her sister.
Andria’s tone of voice was very similar to Aria’s when arguing. I wondered why I still thought of Andria till now after what she did to me.
Andria always had distinctions in all her exams, in contrast to Lena, who always lagged in everything except the newest trends and fashion statements.
So she effortlessly had friends fawning all over her, in contrast to Andria, who keeps to herself.
I usually thought Lena was the evil sister, constantly trying to bully her elder sister, Andria, and so I decided to date Andria and stand by her in every circumstance.
Much to my dismay, I found out the reason why she never had any friends and the reason why Lena hated her so much.
I walked into the empty laboratory that day because I saw a letter in my locker asking me to meet them in the lab.
I was so curious, and most of me told me that it might be a sweet surprise from Andria, since it was ’the mate ’ celebration day.
We weren’t mates, but we were an item, and we wished by the moon and the wishing stars that we end up as mates when we finally transform.
I was surprised, although not the good kind of surprise. I walked in on her with another male student, holding themselves far too close for a casual friendship.
He leaned in for a kiss, and I quietly shut the door and disappeared. I was sure she didn’t notice me walk in, because she was engrossed in what she was doing.
I made up my mind to leave that school, to another school, anything not to see her face.
When she finally noticed that I had been gone for days, she messaged me, and our discussion blew into an argument. She explained that it was a setup, but I didn’t know what to believe anymore, the scene I saw or her words.
We broke up because I couldn’t trust her anymore, not after the scene I saw and her denial.
But I still missed her. "We have a mate", Kylan growled, a slight warning.
And looking at Aria in this scene felt like a deja vu,
I was so enraged at the scene that I moved instinctively to where they stood, shoving past the little crowd. ’Not my mate this time, ’ Kylan growled.
"I suggest you keep your filthy selves off my mate, right now. You have already made quite a scene; you should be satisfied by now." I ordered Tracy and her dumb, popular cliche clique.
There were gasps all over the cafeteria. "Is the Alpha of the Silvernight pack her mate also?"
Of course, she is also my mate; the other three already made their bond public, so it’s okay also to make mine known.
The phones were still up, and it irritated me more. "I suggest you all put down your phones; there’s nothing so hilarious to watch here." I spat out, turning to face the crowd.
They instantly dropped their phones into their pockets or bags, and that was a sure relief.
And just as I was about to leave the scene feeling like Prince Charming who saved his damsel in distress, Andria spoke up, making me spin back to face her.
"And look who saved the day," sarcasm dripping from her every word. "I never said that I couldn’t handle it well myself," she murmured to herself, but I could hear her so well.
She is such a challenging task; why is it hard for her to spit out gratitude from her mouth?
"I could see how well you were handling it, Aria," I replied to her in the same tone of sarcasm.
"Why not admit it, Aria? Sometimes you need help. Don’t get me wrong, you are strong enough to handle situations, but sometimes you just need a little help." I needed to tell her that she needed me at the moment, and she needs to accept it and be grateful.
I turned to leave, and just then it also struck me that some parts of what they said were true; also, the revelation that she moved in with the Alpha successors provoked me.
I bent down to her ear to avoid others from eavesdropping on what I was about to say. "They weren’t lying, after all, you moved in with them, except you have moved out now."
I winked at her and then stood straight to look at the others on the table.
Turning back to head back to the duel hall to continue painting, as it was my hobby, suddenly, the school microphone came to life, releasing an offensive screeching sound.
"Good afternoon, students of Ashwood Academy. I trust you all are having a productive day"
Gasps and low murmurs erupted everywhere in the hall,
"I have an important announcement," she stated with a tone that carried so much authority.
"The time has come for this year’s Student Council election. As you know, the council serves not only as a voice for the student body but as a representation of leadership and pack unity within Ashwood Academy."
I tuned out the rest of the conversation, because I wasn’t so interested in the student’s politics, I was already so invested in park politics.
