Tang San’s Twin Sister
Chapter 176
Tang Yin decided to stay silent; instead, she settled down at the edge of the viewing platform and chose to ignore this Salas, whoever he was. That amused the young blond man, who was settling down between him and Ning Fengzhi as he audibly chuckled at her actions but did not comment.
Another unfamiliar man stepped upon a different ledge and planted a sword-like blade on the ground. "Her Holiness!" He announced his voice booming over the Arena.
Suddenly, all the armored men turned around. Their voices resounding in the Arena as they bend their knees. Their red and white uniforms fluttering their spears, standing tall next to them.
"Your Holiness." They shouted, in a chorus, making shivers wander down Tang Yin's spine. The participating members of Shrek and Spirit Hall lined up.
A devastatingly beautiful woman stepped upon the ledge.
Bibi Dong.
She had fair skin of perfect complexion, surrounded by an aura of authority and sheer impact of power. She dressed in black, gilt-lined, luxurious robes, wearing a nine-tipped, purple-gold crown ontop of her light brown hair, and held a more than two-meter-long scepter inlaid with countless amethysts in her hand.
Tang Yin could not help but gasp at her appearance and got on her feet. When the woman's purple eyes first wandered among the participants, for two short moments, they lingered on the Grandmaster and Liu Erlong, then drifted towards their small platform.
The members of Spirit Hall all bend their knees alongside many others present. It was seven treasures, the young man with the blond hair, Shrek, and she who remained standing.
Tang Yin shivered, but she was not going to bend her knee for anyone but those who had earned the right to it.
"Stand up." The woman said, her head high, her voice of crystalline clearness. "You are the next generation. The future of our people is in your potential and your dreams. As the spirit hall, we wish to see where you will one day head and what changes you will bring to our world. Today is the last battle."
She raised her staff into the air before thundering it down on the ground.
Tang Yin observed them closely.
Human greed. They set spirit bones as their prize.
The carp inside her soul sea growled.
How do you know? She asked him.
I can sense them. They are close. A head, an arm, and a leg spirit bone from such old beasts that had survived so many trials, now to be there for some human youth aspiring to be someone.
Tang Yin wanted to tell him not to be that harsh, but he did have a good reason. If she weren't human herself, she would probably feel the same way as he did, so she remained quiet. It was better that way. The man clad in grey standing behind Bibi Dong stepped forward. Yin scarily noticed that she hadn't even realized he was there until now.
Tang Yin bit her lower lip as she went through all of the information she had on soul bones. They were classified, but the older the better, the most precious being torso spirit bones, followed by head, arms, and legs. External bones, such as her brother's eight spider lances, were an additional category. External torso spirit bones, like her wings, were essentially impossible.
These were more than just prestige prices; this was real hardware for any spirit master, something they wanted and desired desperately. A cold shiver ran down her spine as she saw the greed and ambition in the eyes of those around her.
Well, mine would be, but the overgrown lizards would vanish with you; it's tied too closely to your spirit power and ring since the lizard is technically already dead.
Was helpfully explained to her, and she filed that away as additional knowledge; somehow, it was relieving to know.
"I wish the best upon every fighter in this battle today and wish the best of Luck in gaining the honor of victory."
Then she took a step back, and they lined up.
On one side were Shrek's Devils. Ma Honjun, Xiao Wu, Dai Mubai, Zhu Zhuqing, Oscar, Ning Rong Rong, and her brother.
On the other side, people she did not know, except Lucy, Hu Liena, and Yan, her gaze remained on the tall, proud man with red highlights in his silver hair. "Xie Yue. He is Hu Liena's brother." Chen Xin explained to her. "You should take a step back; it will be a hard battle. Even the lowest-ranking members of their Team Rival Dai Mubai."
"Wha...?"
"Yes." Chen Xin nodded. "They are monsters just like the Shrek Members."
"This is a team battle, though." She said and turned to him. "Spirit Power is not everything in a Team Battle; if we were talking one-on-one, it would make a difference.
"Members of each team step forward!" The speaker announced. "First, we have Shrek Academy with seven Shrek Nine Devils, they have proven their skills through the tournament and the finals at Tian Dou Kingdom, and successfully defeated many strong opponents, and proven many times that they are ready for the grand final."
Yin gulped, feeling the tension thick in the air.
"On the other side, we have Martial Soul Hall School, where Xie Yue, Hu Liena, and Yan have broken the record of earning the purple soul batch at an unprecedented young age, with their fourth Lucia being only a hairbreadth away from breaking their record. They are four of the five members of the golden generation."
