Tangled Hearts: Chased by Another Tycoon after Divorce
Chapter 86: I Can’t Wait, Do the Surgery Now!
CHAPTER 86: CHAPTER 86: I CAN’T WAIT, DO THE SURGERY NOW!
The night is as cold as water, and the biting wind blows, Victoria Monroe takes off her coat, leaving herself in just a thin nightgown.
Her skin is covered with goosebumps, and wisps of hair gently sway by her ears.
Victoria Monroe meets Julian Fordham’s nearly humble gaze and silently sighs, "Why do you always like to push me? Do you think emotions can be forced? The more you act this way, the further away I’ll be pushed."
Julian Fordham holds her small hands, his voice hoarse with distress, "Victoria, I’m not forcing you. What do I have to do for you to forgive me?"
"Julian Fordham, don’t you understand? No matter what you do, we can’t go back to how it was. If you want to torment your own body, that’s your freedom."
Victoria Monroe pulls her hand away from his grasp, Julian Fordham watches her loosened fingers, with an unbearable feeling in his heart, "Victoria, please don’t..."
Her response is a heartless silhouette, as she stands by the door, her small face cold, "Julian Fordham, perhaps if you had turned back that night, there would still have been a possibility for reconciliation, but you left me alone in the bathroom, letting me endure inhuman torment, allowing me to cry in the swirling snow."
"Binding you in the bathtub last night was only to let you empathize with my pain, but the hurt in my heart will never disappear, so just let go. I’d rather be lonely and end my days alone than be with you again."
Finishing her words, Victoria Monroe closes the door, blocking Julian Fordham’s guilty and wounded eyes.
"Victoria, I’m sorry."
She hears his soft murmur as the door closes.
Victoria Monroe dials Assistant Prescott’s number, "Take your boss away. Don’t let him go crazy here."
Assistant Prescott helplessly responds, "Ma’am, you know that the boss won’t listen to anyone but you."
"Then let him kneel to death at the door." Victoria Monroe hangs up the phone.
After tidying up, she looks out from the window of the guest room, seeing Julian Fordham kneeling straight, like bamboo.
Not to mention getting up, even a coat thrown on him was discarded aside.
He’s wearing a thin hospital gown, kneeling in the bleak wind, with heavy snow flying behind him, and his gaze is somewhat lost, it looks like he can’t hold on much longer.
Sure enough, the next second, that silhouette falls to the ground.
"Boss!"
Corbin Prescott knocks on the door, "Ma’am, the boss has fainted. He hasn’t recovered from his severe illness."
Victoria Monroe drapes herself with a coat as she exits her room, "There’s a hospital nearby, take him there."
"Ma’am, your room is right here, is there really a need for this? If this continues, the boss will truly lose his life."
"His life is his own, whether it matters or not, is not up to others to say. Let’s go, I’ll accompany you over. Consider it doing all I can."
Corbin Prescott bends down to carry Julian Fordham on his back, while Victoria Monroe drapes a coat over him.
If it had been before, she would have felt as if the sky were collapsing.
Strangely, now she seems to have found peace within her heart.
For many years, she had been too invested in this marriage, her future plans were always centered around both of them and the child.
Yet in his world, her importance had gradually waned, and they had long since embarked on separate paths.
The child was merely a spark, one day they’d inevitably part for a reason or another.
Victoria Monroe will no longer devote all her energy and attention to this man, after taking him to emergency care and restarting the IV, she simply turns and leaves.
"Ma’am, if the boss wakes up and doesn’t see you, he’ll once again come looking for you, his body truly can’t take this anymore."
Victoria Monroe lifts her eyes to Corbin Prescott, "But Assistant Prescott, I can’t take it anymore either."
"Ma’am..."
"Sorry, but the sympathy act won’t work on me, it’s very late, my grandmother is not well, I still need to be with her, excuse me."
After Victoria Monroe leaves, the man on the bed suddenly opens his eyes.
At the moment, his head is throbbing unbearably, his body feverish, and in his eyes is nothing but Victoria Monroe’s heartless departing figure.
His voice rasps softly, "Victoria..."
Corbin Prescott doesn’t say anything, yet he has a feeling inside, Victoria Monroe isn’t throwing a tantrum, she’s ready to completely sever ties with Julian Fordham.
She’s not going to turn back.
"Boss, you should think long-term after recovering your health, otherwise how can you compete with Rhys Hawthorne in your current state? At least we’ve seen ma’am, she’s doing alright for now, there won’t be any immediate changes."
Julian Fordham wants to struggle to get up, but his body doesn’t comply, and he falls heavily.
Although Assistant Prescott’s words are right, he still feels anxious inside.
What is Victoria Monroe still planning?
He was just about to instruct Corbin Prescott to keep an eye on Victoria Monroe when he fainted again.
Victoria Monroe figured he would come looking for her, she just didn’t expect him to come so quickly.
To prevent any further complications, given Julian Fordham’s current weakened state, he’s unable to take care of himself.
Victoria Monroe dares not wait any longer, she calls Rhys Hawthorne.
"Sorry, are you resting?"
Rhys Hawthorne, just having gotten into bed, holds a silk band in hand. He lifts the covers and gets up, "No, is there something the matter?"
Victoria Monroe’s voice is urgent, "I want to have surgery immediately."
"What happened?"
"Julian Fordham found me, but he’s seriously ill right now and doesn’t have the energy to bother about me. Once he recovers, he’ll surely do something. I don’t want to delay anymore, Rhys, can you help me contact the hospital?"
She’s been preparing her body at a top-tier hospital, originally set for the day after tomorrow with the chief. Now, in the middle of the night, unlike childbirth, she can’t have someone specially work overtime for her.
But private hospitals are different, with just a word from Rhys Hawthorne, arranging for a surgery would be simple.
Rhys Hawthorne remains silent for a moment, then speaks with a steady voice, "Are you sure about this?"
"Yes, I don’t know if I’ll regret it in the future, but I know that if I keep this child, at least the Victoria Monroe today would regret it."
"Alright, I’ll make the arrangements."
Victoria Monroe changes her clothes and touches her flat lower abdomen with her fingers.
This child is very resilient; despite a previously dire situation, he survived it, yet she, as his mother, is going to be very cruel to him.
Victoria Monroe wipes the tears from the corners of her eyes, "I’m sorry, in your next life, find a good family. Mom can’t give you a complete family."
Before leaving, she checks on her grandmother once more and sees her sleeping peacefully.
To be cautious, she specifically notified the caregivers to pay close attention to the elderly woman before leaving.
In the depth of the night, she quietly gets into a black Maybach.
The thick snow bends the bamboo, the bamboo can’t bear the weight, triggering a firecracker-like crackling sound in the night.
Julian Fordham wakes from a nightmare, barely moving, as the dozing Assistant Prescott wakes immediately.
Seeing there’s still half a bottle left, he breathes a sigh of relief.
"Boss, are you thirsty or hungry?"
Julian Fordham clutches his chest, looking at the bamboo outside the window, his heart filled with unease.
"Corbin, my heart is beating fast, where’s Victoria?"
"Ma’am went back. She worked hard to move the elderly woman to the nursing home, in the middle of the night, even if she wants to flee, she can’t just take the elderly woman away. As long as she’s here, ma’am won’t go far, boss, rest assured."
Although that’s what he said, Julian Fordham can’t sleep.
He wants to get up and find Victoria Monroe but fears she’ll despise him.
At this hour, she should be asleep.
If he continues to push, Victoria Monroe will only hate him even more.
But why does his heart feel so uneasy?
He licks his lips and hoarsely says, "Assistant Prescott, I’m worried. Have someone watch over Victoria, and tell me immediately if anything happens."
