CHAPTER 749: CHAPTER 746: FEELING WRONGED

When they went upstairs and exited the elevator, they saw Taozi already had the door open, waiting for them.

She had changed into a set of casual clothing, looking even more gentle and serene.

"Welcome." She greeted everyone with a smile.

At her feet was a child riding a peanut-shaped scooter.

Upon seeing Shen Shiyun, the child immediately gave her a silly grin.

"It’s you." Shen Shiyun’s eyes sparkled with surprise and delight.

She had always felt her luck was related to a kiss from this child.

Since the child kissed her, her fortune had been surprisingly good, as if everything had been going smoothly.

"This is Tang Tang."

Noticing Shen Shiyun’s gaze, Taozi gently touched Tang Tang’s little head and introduced them.

"I know her," Shen Shiyun said.

Apart from Shen Siyuan, everyone else was surprised.

"The last time I stayed at a hotel near the Longmen Grottoes, I met Cousin and Tang Tang. I even held her back then," Shen Shiyun explained.

Ruan Hongzhuang and Taozi both turned to look at Shen Siyuan.

Shen Siyuan said calmly, "I didn’t recognize them at the time."

Shen Shiyun smiled and explained, "I didn’t recognize Cousin at the time either; I really didn’t expect such a coincidence."

Only then did everyone realize, except for Liu Xueyi, who curiously asked, "Why didn’t I know about this?"

Since they’ve been traveling together, Liu Xueyi thought she should have seen them if Shen Shiyun did.

"It was in the morning at the hotel restaurant when you were still sleeping."

"Is that so?"

Thinking of her habit of sleeping in, it seemed reasonable, so she didn’t dwell on it further.

"Let’s not stand at the door; come inside and talk," Ruan Hongzhuang invited everyone into the house.

"Sister Ruan, your home is so big and beautiful."

Upon entering the house, the large panoramic balcony caught everyone’s eye, and Liu Xueyi couldn’t help but marvel.

"It’s alright. Please sit down; I’ll make some tea for you," Ruan Hongzhuang said.

"Let me do it," Taozi volunteered.

Ruan Hongzhuang didn’t say much and instead invited everyone to sit down and chat. At this point, Mao Sanmei came carrying a plate of cut-up fruits.

"This is Mao Sanmei, Tang Tang’s mother," Ruan Hongzhuang briefly introduced.

Mao Sanmei gestured with her hands to welcome them, then returned to her tasks.

Seeing her actions, Shen Shiyun and her friend understood and didn’t ask further.

However, Shen Shiyun was surprised to find out that Tang Tang was Mao Sanmei’s daughter. Why was Shen Siyuan traveling alone with a family nanny’s daughter? What was their relationship—were they relatives?

This wasn’t something she could easily ask, but Tang Tang was indeed very adorable.

She couldn’t help but look at Tang Tang, who was riding the scooter all over the place, never stopping once, full of life and energy.

Ruan Hongzhuang was very good at conversing and mastering the art of conversation.

In just a short time, not only had she put the two at ease, but almost entirely understood their situation.

They were students from a teacher’s university, about to graduate, traveling together to see their beautiful country.

So far, they had visited three places, with Bin Hai being their fourth stop. Due to the flights, they arrived at Bin Hai last night, and their next destination was Snow Village for skiing.

These two pure university students had no ulterior motives, and without Ruan Hongzhuang even needing to ask directly, with just a little guidance, they spilled out everything about themselves in detail.

"Do you have any plans for today?" Ruan Hongzhuang asked.

"We were planning to visit Nanhai Guanyin, but now it’s too late to go," Shen Shiyun said.

"It’s crowded there; you should go early. I’ll drive you tomorrow morning," Taozi offered.

"No need, no need, we can do it ourselves. We don’t want to trouble you, Sister Taozi."

As they grew more familiar, they kept calling them Sister Ruan and Sister Taozi.

Actually, both Shen Shiyun and Liu Xueyi were curious about the relationship between the two and Shen Siyuan.

The two seemed very close to Shen Siyuan, making it hard for them to tell who was Shen Siyuan’s girlfriend.

But this wasn’t a question they could ask directly, at least not in front of them, leaving them feeling like cats scratching at their hearts.

Watching Shen Siyuan sitting on the balcony talking to Tang Tang, Shen Shiyun put down her cup and walked over.

"Cousin, Tang Tang..."

She first smiled and greeted them.

Shen Siyuan turned to look at her.

"Han~"

Tang Tang showed her a silly grin.

"Do you like her?" Shen Siyuan turned his eyes back to Tang Tang.

"Like," Tang Tang replied.

Shen Siyuan patted her little head and asked as Shen Shiyun approached, "What’s up?"

"Cousin, don’t you like me?" Shen Shiyun asked.

Shen Siyuan was a bit taken aback by her directness.

He responded with a calm face, "Would you like someone you’ve only met twice?"

Shen Shiyun thought for a moment and then shook her head, "No."

"So there it is?"

"It’s different. You know that’s not what I mean," Shen Shiyun replied slightly annoyed.

Perhaps because she just graduated—or rather, hadn’t graduated yet—she still retained the unique purity of youth, believing that family should love and support each other. Of course, this had a lot to do with her being raised in love.

"There’s nothing different. Before, I knew there was someone like you, but I didn’t think we would intersect. Before today, we were strangers, and I didn’t think it necessary to connect substantially. For over twenty years, we lived without each other and lived well, so what are you insisting on?"

Shen Siyuan’s words brought tears to Shen Shiyun’s eyes. Upon learning she had an uncle and a cousin, she was excited, thinking she had more family, running off to Bin Hai to meet them. Her sincerity was met with words that truly hurt her feelings.

Shen Siyuan didn’t care, leaning back in his chair, looking up at the sky.

Sadness, comfort—it didn’t exist; you get used to it.

But just then, Tang Tang slid over to Shen Shiyun, looking up at her.

"Han~"

She gave Shen Shiyun another silly grin, then pointed at Shen Siyuan.

"Bad egg, don’t cry."

"Pfft."

The once sad Shen Shiyun was instantly tickled and began laughing.

Shen Siyuan smirked but didn’t say anything.

Shen Shiyun patted her little head, smiling, "Thank you. I’ve always had poor luck before, but since meeting you, my luck has become exceptionally good. Is it because of you?"

"Han~"

Hearing this, Shen Siyuan looked at Tang Tang in surprise.

He didn’t know about this and wanted to ask more, but recalling what he just said, he suddenly didn’t know how to start the conversation.

Just then, Ruan Hongzhuang walked out.

Seeing Shen Shiyun’s teary eyes and aggrieved look, she patted Shen Siyuan, took Shen Shiyun’s hand, and said, "You as a brother don’t know how to go easy on your sister, just met and you’re bullying her."

Then she didn’t look at him and instead turned to Shen Shiyun, "Ignore him; let’s go inside and talk."

Watching them return inside, Shen Siyuan reached out and pulled the little silly girl over to him.
