"Where are they?"

"Those two adventurers I saw yesterday!"

The next day, the blonde girl named Darkness entered the Adventurer's Guild.

She glanced around, hoping to spot Damien and Ogerpon from the previous evening, but after a thorough search, she found no trace of them.

"Not here?"

"Are they out on a quest?"

With this thought, Darkness approached Luna, inquiring about Damien.

Asking about adventurers wasn't considered rude in the Konosubaverse.

As the saying goes, this place wasn't full of scheming and intrigue.

"You're talking about Mr. Damien and his familiar, Ogerpon, right?" Luna asked.

"Damien? Damien.. yes Damien."

Darkness repeated Damien's name a few times before continuing, "I want to join their party. Could you keep an eye out for Mr. Damien's whereabouts?"

"Sure, I can do that, but wouldn't posting a notice be faster?"

"I'll post a notice too."

The mere thought of Damien and Ogerpon's sticky, disheveled state sent shivers through Darkness's body.

The girl unconsciously pressed her thighs together, her fair face flushing with strange fantasies.

"Uh…"

Seeing Darkness's odd reaction, Luna hesitated, unsure whether to pass this information to Damien.

"Alright." Luna said. "Next time I see Mr. Damien, I'll let him know."

However, neither Luna nor Darkness knew that Damien had already left the Konosubaverse.

Whether to accept Darkness, the masochistic Crusader, into his party was a decision Damien would have to make upon his return.

Cardinal World

"Bo-ne!"

Two figures appeared on a grassy hill... Damien and Ogerpon, freshly returned from the Konosubaverse.

"The Mage class must be the result of integrating all the Konosuba magic." Damien mused.

"My intrinsic abilities now include a bunch of mastery-level melee skills."

On top of that, he had gained a Unique Skill called Learner.

'Can acquire others' Common Skills and intrinsic abilities.'

In the Cardinal World, skills were divided into four tiers: Intrinsic Skills, Common Skills, Extra Skills, and Unique Skills.

Above those were Ultimate Skills, which only True Demon Lords could awaken.

"According to this world's rules, only those with special souls can acquire Unique Skills."

In the original story, a character named Shogo, summoned from another world, gained a Unique Skill by sacrificing a girl named Seiki's soul.

A single otherworldly soul was needed to obtain one Unique Skill.

That showed just how rare Unique Skills were.

Even Rimuru, at the start, only had Great Sage and Predator as Unique Skills.

"This trip to the Konosubaverse was a huge haul."

In just one day, Damien had reaped such rewards, further proving the immense power of his Exceptional-grade Planeswalker ability.

As Damien immersed himself in the changes to his status panel, Ogerpon's alarmed cry interrupted his thoughts.

"Damien!!"

"Hm?"

Following Ogerpon's gaze, Damien's pupils narrowed. "What's that?"

"Our camp!!"

The sight before them was one of devastation. The camp, which should have had its basic structures completed, was reduced to ruins, leaving Ogerpon... who had no idea what happened... stunned.

"Who did this?"

Ogerpon was furious.

The camp might have been simple, but it was built bit by bit by Damien.

It was their blood and sweat.

"Those jerks who trashed Damien's hard work…"

Ogerpon wanted nothing more than to summon its thorny vine club and give the culprits a good thrashing.

"Calm down."

Damien soothed the enraged Ogerpon, and the two cautiously approached to investigate.

"These tracks… they look like they were left by some kind of giant insect."

Damien crouched down, noticing footprints in the dirt. "Did that bug monster's buddies come looking for us?"

Sure enough, the air still carried the faint stench of those insect monsters.

No mistake... it was them.

"Damn it!"

"Ogerpon hates big bugs!"

Ogerpon felt frustrated, but more than that, it was heartbroken over the camp they had worked so hard to build.

"It's alright, don't be mad."

Damien smiled, patting the little creature's head to comfort it. "At least we avoided the bug monsters' attack, right?"

"Besides, this is a wake-up call."

Damien continued, "This place isn't safe."

"What do we do?"

"We either find a new spot for our camp." Damien said, "or we track down those bugs' nest and wipe them out at the source!"

No one threatens our home and gets away with it.

If the neighbors were intelligent Majins capable of communication, Damien, not being bloodthirsty, would have been happy to talk and coexist peacefully.

But these bug monsters? Forget whether they had brains... they clearly had no intention of negotiating with Damien.

From the start, the multi-legged spider monsters saw Damien and Ogerpon as food.

The subsequent attacks were the same, all aimed at devouring them.

If that was the case, Damien wouldn't hold back.

Either he didn't act, or he acted decisively, wiping them out to the last!
