CHAPTER 135: CHAPTER 134: ROAR OF THE HEAVENLY DRAGON

"Shiro-kun, if there’s no issue, you’d better go now. The longer we wait, the more unpredictable things could become."

Shiro Sakamaki gave a small nod. He didn’t need to pack anything—he fought with his bare hands and thunder techniques. Weapons would only slow him down.

"Lead the way."

Just as he was about to set off, a gentle tug at his sleeve stopped him.

Misaki stood behind him, eyes trembling.

"Junior... please, be careful. If—if Jin really has..."

She trailed off, unable to finish.

Shiro gently took her hand. It was soft and warm—but now wasn’t the time to linger on that feeling.

"Don’t worry, senpai. I’m strong enough."

He turned to Kanna. "Kanna, I’m counting on you. Protect Misaki."

Kanna gave a solemn nod, no words needed.

Then, in a gust of wind, shadowy wings unfurled from Shiro’s back, towering and sharp. Glass shards scattered as his wings beat against the wind.

With a burst of lightning, he shot into the sky, following Gojo Satoru’s retreating form like an arrow from a bow.

---

Back in the apartment, Misaki returned to the living room in a daze. She had no intention of playing her favorite game—her heart was far too heavy.

The real reason she had moved in was simple: Mitaka Jin had been acting strange lately. Every time he looked at her, there was a possessiveness in his eyes—dark, cold, and foreign.

It wasn’t the kind of gaze that held affection. It was more like obsession. It scared her.

Even though she had feelings for Jin—had dropped hints for months—this new version of him terrified her. So, she packed up and ran to the only place that felt safe: Shiro’s.

"Misaki, are you worried about Shiro?" Kanna’s voice gently broke the silence.

Misaki curled into herself on the couch, hugging her knees tight.

"It’s not just him... I’m worried about Jin too."

"Why is the world suddenly like this? It’s only been a few days, but it feels like everything’s falling apart..."

Kanna was quiet for a moment.

"Do you want to see them?"

Misaki lifted her head, surprised. Tears still clung to her lashes.

"Kanna... you have an idea?"

Kanna nodded.

With a flick of her hand, she cast a cognitive barrier over herself and stepped onto the balcony. Misaki followed in shock.

A flash of purple light forced her eyes shut—and when she opened them again, a majestic dragon with snow-white scales and massive wings stood before her.

"...Kanna?" she asked tentatively.

The white dragon gave a slow nod.

On any other day, Misaki would’ve squealed with joy and jumped at her like a kid seeing her favorite plushie come to life. But now, her heart was too heavy to smile.

Kanna flapped her wings and gestured for Misaki to climb onto her claws. A protective spell shimmered around her to ensure she wouldn’t fall.

Normally, Kanna would never let anyone ride her. But for Shiro’s sake, she made an exception.

With another flap, thunder cracked through the sky—and they took off, chasing the scent of Shiro’s power.

Meanwhile, at the Sawamura residence...

Eriri was in her room, frantically catching up on her doujin work. The deadline was brutal.

Suddenly, a crash echoed from downstairs—followed by a scream.

"Mom?!"

She dropped her pen and bolted downstairs.

What she saw stopped her cold: the front door had been torn from its hinges. Her father, Spencer, had her mother, Sayuri, by the throat. His eyes were cold. Empty.

Sayuri’s face had turned a frightening shade of purple.

"Let her go!" Eriri shouted, launching herself at her father.

Thanks to the Dragon Slayer Crystal embedded in her body, her strength far exceeded human limits. She slammed into Spencer and sent him flying nearly ten meters.

Sayuri gasped for air, coughing violently, shocked at both the attack—and her daughter’s inhuman strength.

"Eriri... how...?" she managed to wheeze.

Spencer, meanwhile, stood back up, unfazed. His shirt was torn, revealing gears whirring inside where muscle should have been.

"Our flesh is weak. The machine ascends. Join the glorious evolution," he intoned, his voice flat and mechanical.

Eriri stared at her father, confused and frightened.

"What are you talking about?! What happened to you?!"

"Our flesh is weak. The machine ascends. Join the glorious evolution."

He kept advancing, step by eerie step.

Eriri pulled Sayuri behind her, shielding her. Pain throbbed in her shoulder where she’d slammed into him.

"Spencer, why are you doing this? Why are you like this?!"

Still no answer—only that same haunting chant, echoing like a broken machine:

"Our flesh is weak. The machine ascends. Join the glorious evolution..."
