Ellsworth didn’t mention anything aboutst night, and Harriet

felt a wave of relief.

Hearing her words, Ellsworth bent over and leaned close to her,

reached out to smooth her hair from her forehead, gazed at her

for a moment, then returned to his desk to continue working.

The room was very quiet, with only the sound of Ellsworth

typing and birds chirping outside in the yard.

After lying in bed for a while, Harriet got up.

Seeing this, Harriet turned her face to look out the window at

the scenery, saying nothing more.

Half an hourter, the car stopped in front of the vi. After

Harriet got out, Ellsworth took her hand and led her inside.

It was as if… the whole matter of divorce had never existed.

When the two entered the house, Kathie was working overtime

in the living room, organizing a project proposal. Seeing

Ellsworth holding Harriet’s hand as they returned, Kathie looked

at Ellsworth with an expression that was not only inscrutable,

Letting go of Harriet’s hand and noticing Kathie’s odd look,

Ellsworth picked up some documents from the coffee table and lightly tapped her with them: “What’s with that look?”

Patsy went to the kitchen to help with the cooking, while Harriet

actually kissed you in front of everyone.”

“The way my brother wasst night, it seemed like he likes you.”

Harriet couldn’t really remember the details Kathie mentioned.

tenderness before parting, I suppose.”

But Kathie disagreed, saying seriously, “No, that’s not it. I’ve never seen him look at Kelsey with such gentle eyes.”

After being neglected for three years, Harriet no longer wanted anything–she just wanted a clean break, with no lingering ties.

While Harriet and Kathie were discussing work, Raymond and Tamera came in from the backyard. As soon as she saw Harriet, Tamera immediately asked about her great–grandchild.
