The 100th Attempt to Win Her Back
Craving 202
Chapter202
A little sad, Gracelyn quicklyforted herself and asked
Harriet again, “Hara, can I be your baby’s big sister in the
future? I like you, Hara, and I like your baby too.”
Have a baby with Ells in the future?
Ellsworth was quite pleased to hear that, thinking Reginald was
pretty sensible.
Listening to Gracelyn, Harriet smiled and said, “Of course. If Auntie has a baby in the future, I’ll definitely let Grace be the big
sister, and you two can be good friends.”
The little girl was instantly cheered up, scooting closer to
Harriet and whispering, “Hara, can I secretly call you ‘Mom‘ inow/i? Don’t tell my dad, okay? I want to know what it’s like to
have a mom.”
Harriet was touched. She herself hadn’t known what it felt like
to have a mother for a long time.
So she nodded to Gracelyn. “You can.”
Seeing Harriet agree, Gracelyn was overjoyed, waving her arms,
Chapter202
her eyebrows dancing, hugging Harriet’s arm and rubbing her
little face against it, and called out excitedly, “Mom!”
Seeing the little one’s happy face, Harriet’s ears instantly turned
red.
Being called ‘Mom‘ for the first time, she actually felt a little
embarrassed.
Looking down at Gracelyn, seeing her staring at her expectantly,
Harriet took a while topose herself, swallowed, and then
responded, “Yes?”
Even though she tried her best to answer, Harriet’s voice was
still not very loud.
But Gracelyn heard her.
Seeing Harriet agree, Gracelyn was even happier, rubbing her
little face against her and clinging to her, saying sweetly, “I have
a mom, I have a mom now!”
Looking at Gracelyn, Harriet felt as if she was seeing her
younger self.
So, while the little girl was being affectionate, she bent down
and nted a gentle kiss on her head.
Chapter202
She then gently reminded her, “Grace, don’t move your leg, don’t
hurt it.”
“Okay, Mom.”
With Gracelyn calling her ‘Mom‘ again, Harriet’s face turned red
once more.
After all, she had never been with a man, never experienced
pregnancy, and wasn’t mentally prepared for it.
On the sofa, Ellsworth looked at the two of them on the bed–one
big, one small–and couldn’t help but smile.
Later, after Harriet woke up from her afternoon nap, a nurse
came to take her for a check–up, and only then did Gracelyn
leave Harriet’s room.
It was past six o’clock.
After finishing a call with a colleague and discussing work,
Harriet received a call from Vicente.
Seeing the number, Harriet quickly answered.
“Hello, Mr. Leach.”
On the other end, Vicente asked gently, “Ms. Chavez, is it
Chapter202
convenient for you to eat at the hospital? Do you need me to
have someone bring you meals?”
Hearing Vicente’s concern, Harriet quickly replied politely,
“Thank you, Mr. Leach. My mother–inw brings me meals every
day.”
“Mother–inw?” Vicente was immediately surprised.
On her end, Harrietughed and said, “Yes, I’ve been married for
several years. My husband has been taking care of me in the
hospital these days, and it’s my mother–inw who brings me
food.”
“Oh.” Vicente responded, then smiled again. “Ms. Chavez, you’re
so young. I didn’t expect you to be married already.”
He added, “But as long as someone is taking care of you, that’s
good.”
“Yes.” Harriet said, “But thank you for your concern, Mr. Leach.”
After that, the two exchanged a few more polite words and then
hung up.
She wasn’t deliberately hinting at anything to Vicente–she wasn’t that self–absorbed. The topic just came up, so she
Chapter202
honestly admitted she was married.
Nearby, Deloris was setting out the food she brought on the
dining table, ining to Harriet, “Miss, the Graham family is
too calcting. You’re injured and hospitalized, and now
someone from the Graham family is in the hospital too.”
“When I came over just now, I saw the young master and Ms.
Graham going to the ward next door together. I even followed
them to check. The young master is really something–hasn’t
finished the paperwork here, but doesn’t keep his distance over
there. How embarrassing for you.”
Hearing Deloris’s indignation, Harriet limped slowly to the table
and said calmly, “It’s not the first time. Fortunately, it doesn’t
have much to do with me now–just a piece of paper left. Let him
be.”
Even if they didn’t let him be, there was nothing they could do
about Ellsworth.
Deloris hurried over to help Harriet, muttering, “I really don’t
know whose son–inw he is. If it doesn’t work out, just get the
paperwork done soon and stop dragging you down, Miss. I
think this Mr. Leach is quite nice–very considerate and has a
good temper.”
Chapter202
Harriet just smiled and said nothing.
In life, marriage isn’t everything. There are many other
meaningful things one can do.
