Chapter37

Chapter37

Harriet took the reports and documents, pletely confused.

Why did Grandpa’s reports and admission documents end up

with him?

At this moment, Deloris exined to Harriet, “Miss, we really have to thank Mr. Keh today. If he hadn’t arrived in time, Sir Chavez might have been in real danger. After we got to the hospital, Mr. Keh handled all the paperwork. Otherwise, if it were up to me, I would have been too flustered to manage it

all.”

Listening to Deloris’s exnation, Harriet held the reports and documents, looked at Keh, and said, “Thank you, Ken.”

As she spoke, she quickly pulled out the chair beside her and

invited him, “Ken, have a seat.””

Keh put his hands back in his pockets, looked down at

Harriet, and said unhurriedly, “Hara, you don’t need to be so

nervous or polite. Grandpa was brought in on time, and his

condition isn’t too serious. As long as he gets regr checkups

and takes his medicine on schedule, he’ll be fine.”

Chapter37

Harriet was 165 cm tall, while Keh was 189, and years of

military training made him look even more imposing.

Standing in front of him, Harriet seemed rather petite.

Nodding, Harriet said, “Okay, I’ll bring Grandpa in for regr checkups and remind him to take his medicine on time.”

Harriet was gentle, while Keh casually walked over to Ralph, gave him a quick check, and didn’t say much more.

Since Harriet was there, Keh didn’t leave right away either, staying to keep herpany.

Whenever he got a phone call, he would step outside to answer olli/li/ol

By the bedside, Harriet held Ralph’s hand, her gaze drifting toward the door, watching Keh take calls outside. She felt

truly grateful to him.

Night fell.

Kathie and Patsy came by, and Colin came as well.

The Chavez family was small, and Harriet didn’t have many

friends, so aside from the Townsend familying to visit,

there was no one else.

Yet even though everyone else hade, Ellsworth still hadn’t

shown up.

After nine o’clock, seeing that Keh had stayed this long,

Harriet said to him, “Ken, I’m here to look after Grandpa. You

should go home and get some rest.”

Harriet was polite, and seeing that Ralph was asleep, Keh

said, “Alright, I’ll head back then. Call me anytime if you need

anything.”

“Okay!” Harriet nodded.

She walked Keh to the elevator. Harriet was about to see

him downstairs, but Keh said, “This is far enough. Go back.

Grandpa’s fine, you don’t need to worry too much. Get some

rest tonight.”‘

“Okay!” Harriet nodded obediently.

As soon as she finished speaking, the elevator arrived.

Watching Keh take the elevator down, Harriet finally

turned and went back to the hospital room.

The room was very quiet. She had just told Deloris to go home

and rest as well.

Sitting by the bed, looking at the sleeping Ralph, Harriet held his hand and whispered, “Grandpa, you really can’t have anything happen to you.”

Her parents were gone; now her grandfather was her only family left. She wanted him to stay with her for a few more

years.

After sitting by the bed for a while, Harriet’s phone vibrated.

She took it out and saw it was a call from Dillon at Ranton

Group.

Afraid of waking Ralph, Harriet took her phone outside to

answer.

“Mr. Massey.”

Once the call connected, Harriet immediately became the sharp

and capable vice president again, her face full of smiles, as if

nothing had happened at home.

Worried that her call would disturb the patients in the room,

Harriet walked toward the small balcony at the end of the

corridor while talking.

It was still about the engineering project; the other party had

some questions for her.

“There’s no problem with the progress. The materials are being

purchased ording to the budget.”

“Yes, yes.”

“That’s right, that’s right.”

She patientlymunicated with the other party until all the

issues were discussed and rified, and only then did Harriet

hang up.

She nced down at her phone-it was already ten o’clock.

A breeze blew by. Harriet pulled her clothes tighter around her

and turned to head back to the hospital room.

The corridor was long and quiet, and Harriet could clearly hear

the sound of her high heels.

“Ells, Kel is much better today. The doctor said there’s no sign of

rejection. She’s just been too tiredtely and will be fine after

some rest.”

“Ells, you’ve been running to the hospital every day. It’s really

hard on you. Syl would be soforted to see you taking such

good care of the Graham family.”

As she passed a hospital room and heard someone inside calling Ells, Harriet instinctively stopped and looked inside.
