The 100th Attempt to Win Her Back
Craving 67
Chapter67
At Harriet’s exnation, Ellsworth let out a soitugh and san coolly, “I’m making a big deal out of it? I’m talking is seriousap Other people might not know what kind of person 1 am, but you Harriet, should. If I really wanted to make a big deal, would Reginald have left Rockville Resort unscathed?
Ellsworth’s reminder made Harriet look at him.
That’s right, Ellsworth was never someone to be trifled with Calling him a living King of Hell wouldn’t be an exaggeration.
Back in high school, when a boy tried to forcefully pursue her and insisted she be his girlfriend, Ellsworth sent the guy to the hospital, where he stayed for over two months before being discharged,
At that time, her rtionship with Ellsworth was still very good.
Looking at Ellsworth, Harriet exined, “I’m not defending him. I just don’t want things to get awkward or for anyone to feel
embarrassed.”
Ellsworth’s expression didn’t change. “Not defending him? He’s
more than ten years older than you, and you don’t mind his
age?”
Ellsworth’s sarcastic remark, bringing up Reginald’s age again,
made Harriet unhappy too. She replied coolly, “Ellsworth, if
that’s what you want to think, I can’t help it. But Reginald isn’t
more than ten years older than me-he’s only eleven years older.”
“And by your logic, Kelsey is three years older than me. Does
that make her an old woman? Besides, in a few years I’ll be old
too, so you might as well go find someone young and immortal
now.”
Harriet’s sudden retort left Ellsworth’s expression as expected-
he stared straight at her. “So as soon as Reginald shows up,
you start arguing with me, is that it?”
Harriet looked at him coldly. “And as soon as Kelseyes
back, you start picking on me, is that it?”
After their exchange, both Reginald and Kelsey sneezed in their
respective cars, while Noel wasughing so hard in the front
that his shoulders shook.
These two were really something. Even when they argued, they were scolding other people.
Chapter
Not hiding hisughter at all, Noel was immediately shot a cold
look by Ellsworth. “Noel, enjoying the show?”
As soon as Ellsworth spoke, Noel instantly stoppedughing,
turned around, and shook his head at Ellsworth. “No, not at all,
Mr. Townsend.”
After answering, Noel quickly patted the driver on the shoulder,
and the driver immediately stoppedughing too.
He drove on with a serious expression.
With the two in front quiet again, Ellsworth looked at Harriet
once more. “So what now? Giving up and just tearing things
open with me?”
Even though he said that, hearing Harriet bring up Kelsey,
Ellsworth was actually quite interested in arguing with her.
They had been married for three years, and Harriet had never
tried to control him, never made a fuss over his scandals, and
was so sensible it was almost abnormal-even cleaning up his
messes for him.
All her forbearance was simply because she didn’t care, didn’t
love him.
So, her suddenly arguing with him was something Ellsworth was
actually happy to go along with.
As Ellsworth kept pressing, Harriet withdrew her gaze, pulled
down the eye mask she had just put on, turned her back to him,
andy on her side to rest.
It really wasn’t a big deal to begin with, but Ellsworth insisted on
making a fuss. She couldn’t be bothered to argue anymore.
Anyway, they’d be handling the paperwork when they got back,
so he could think whatever he wanted.
Seeing this, Ellsworth reached out and pulled her over, asking in
a calm voice, “Why aren’t you arguing anymore? Weren’t you
just full of words a moment ago?”
Harriet brushed his hand away and reminded him seriously,
“Ellsworth, Noel and George are still here. Let’s keep some
dignity.”
If word of their argument got out, it would be awkward for her
to see Reginald in the future.
Noel didn’t dare say a word, but the driver, George, immediately
chimed in, “Don’t worry, Ms. Chavez. If you want to keep
arguing, go ahead. I absolutely won’t repeat a word of it.”
Chapter67
Hearing the driver say that, Harriet fell silent and turned away to
continue sleeping.
Ellsworth shot Noel a dark look, and Noel quickly turned to George. “So you’re the one with the loose tongue, huh?”
Hearing this, George finally realized he had overstepped and
talked too much.
The thing was, this couple’s arguments were actually quite interesting. Ms. Chavez, who was usually so quiet and refined, had just said a few lines that were really something-quite
impressive, actually.
Taking his right hand off the steering wheel, George quickly pped his own mouth twice. “Look at me, I just can’t keep my mouth shut. Noel, I won’t say another word, not a single word.”
