CHAPTER 65: SECRET OF THE FEAST

When the 19th of April arrived, hundreds of nobles from every noble house in the empire had gathered in the enormous palace.

There were so many nobles that Luke decided it would be much better to use the palace’s enormous courtyard instead of the ballroom, and he had to change all his plans ten days before the ball.

The two people who were most exhausted by this were Kevin and Aelia, who was also Zoey’s head maid.

In the end, the two of them had to dive deep into the work, issuing orders to all the servants.

Nevertheless, the entire family of the Hiera Empire was able to reunite once again. Emma, Lily, Bellatrix, Eva, and Leia were standing in the main part of the Hiera ball, in the courtyard decorated with incredible decorations and plants, which was covered due to the snowfall.

Hiera’s Seven Princesses and Alfred Hiera, the Emperor of the Empire, were also there.

Kassadin, the leader of Wirgo, and his wife, Shen, the leader of Moneta, and his wife, Maria, the leader of Typhoon, and her husband, and Petunia, the leader of Cestis, were in the courtyard.

Of course, this also meant that the children of these four duchies were there as well.

The Freley family, being very numerous, were hiding in the shadows of the Hiera family and the other duchies.

The ball had already begun, with musicians playing their instruments and some nobles even dancing.

In the upper part of the palace, in Luke and Zoey’s bedroom, the preparations were almost complete.

Zoey was wearing a black and white dress, the colours of the wolf, Wirgo. A female knight never wore a dress except at a wedding, especially if she was a female Wirgo.

Nevertheless, Zoey’s hair was tied back with a clip bearing the symbols of the Dragon and the Phoenix, and she had a ponytail. This showed that Wirgo’s jewel belonged to Hiera.

The even more beautiful part was what Luke was wearing.

Luke had officially regained his princely title. Alfred had made this known to a few nobles, and these words had echoed throughout the entire city. Everyone had managed to find out what was happening.

Today was the day when Great City was officially recognised as a Hiera City, but it was deemed appropriate to refer to this region as a [Principality], or more accurately, a [Hiera Principality], and it would be recorded as such in history books.

And...today was a very special day, for another reason.

Luke’s attire had been designed with all these thoughts in mind.

Luke wore a blue and white outfit and his glasses, which had black diamond pieces embedded in them, which he liked to wear at noble gatherings.

Luke was someone who hated wearing rings, but just for today, he had put on a ring on his index finger, engraved with the symbol of Hiera—the symbol different from the flag, the one where the Dragon and the Phoenix follow the star—as if he were a commander thinking about the course of the war.

On the index finger of his other hand, he wore a ring symbolising Wirgo’s wolf.

Just as this symbolised Zoey’s belonging to Hiera, it symbolised Luke’s belonging to Wirgo.

Just as Wirgo’s Jewel belonged to Hiera, Hiera’s Light belonged to Wirgo.

Even in the halls of the gods and goddesses, the words that would be spoken from today until their wedding, the birth of their first child, their second child, their third and fourth children, and the day the couple would die, would be spoken today.

On the day when two people accepted each other and symbolised their belonging to each other, those words... no, those names were given to them by the Gods and Goddesses.

"Are you ready?" Zoey asked with great curiosity. When the young woman looked at Luke, she had to struggle not to drool because of how good he looked.

"I’m ready. We’re going to do it today, aren’t we? We are sure..." Luke asked with a smile on his face.

"Yes," Zoey replied, sniffing Luke’s neck and then spraying perfume once more, saying, "That’s not enough."

The two lovers had a completely different plan for today. They didn’t want to miss this time when all the noble houses of the empire were together, the heads of the five main duchies were in the region, and even the imperial family was together.

The two opened the doors to their bedroom and began to walk forward, with Callum and Kevin in front of them and Cain, Aelia, and Amber behind them.

They slowly descended the palace floors and eventually made their way to the palace’s massive doors.

Callum suddenly opened the two massive doors, and everyone, with Kevin in front and the others behind, stepped outside.

"Prince Luke Ibn Alphonsine Hiera and his fiancée Zoey Gloria Wirgo have entered the ballroom!" Kevin shouted suddenly.

With that, everyone, absolutely everyone, turned their eyes to the palace’s massive doors.

Everyone was looking at the noble couple. To put it bluntly, the couple looked like a work of art. They were like a moving portrait.

Every strand of Zoey’s snow-white hair seemed to have been drawn by the goddess Nyx herself with a pen, and her body was so beautiful that it would make even the most beautiful woman jealous and the most lustful man ashamed to look at her.

Luke was not much different. He shone. His eyes, of different colours, seemed to command everyone to kneel before him from behind his glasses.

And so it was.

Everyone except the members of the imperial family, including every member of the duchy, had knelt.

The atmosphere was so serious that even the members of the Freley Duchy, who had been hiding in the shadows, had to come out and kneel.

Luke’s five mothers, who had treated him like their own son—Emma, Lily, Bellatrix, Eva, and Leia—had never been so proud of him. None of them had expected to see Luke and Zoey like this again. Today, it was almost as if...
