Chapter 75 - 100% Mythril
CHAPTER 75: 100% MYTHRIL
As Luke uttered his second "yes," the walls began to glow with a brightness that was not blinding but still distinctly high.
Within mere seconds, before anyone could comprehend what was happening, the walls, made of black stone, nearly 110 metres long and of corresponding thickness, were instantly covered in a material whiter than snow itself, purer than the snow itself.
This was pure mythril.
The Great City that Luke possessed was the very mythril that was not even fully present in Selene’s walls.
Mythril was a metal that retained its structure even when forged into objects, as it was well-known that even in a mythril mine, it was impossible to find more than a hundred or two hundred kilograms of it.
The region where mythril originated was the Northern Continent, one of the five main continents known as the Ampekos Continent.
Deep within the Dwarves’ Empire, there was a mythril mine that had been mined for hundreds of thousands of years and was still not depleted, referred to as the ’Infinite Mine.’
Even Luke, who couldn’t properly use his ability, or rather, the gift Nyx had bestowed upon him, couldn’t build walls made of mythril with 100% purity.
Instead, he had mixed other materials with the mythril, as if shaping bricks, and successfully replaced Kevin’s earth magic with the walls.
Now, everything was different.
Luke had full control over the gift.
This meant he could create something of higher quality than the 70% mythril and 30% Tholien Mountain Stones composition that his city possessed.
This was a massive wall, made of 100% pure mythril, covering an area of more than two thousand kilometres.
When the brightness faded after a few seconds, Luke stretched his shoulders and then raised his arms in the air.
"Luke..." Kassadin murmured in shock. Everyone, including those in the area and those watching from afar, had their mouths agape.
They knew that something made entirely of mythril and possessing such purity could be so bright and beautiful.
"What happened, Dad?" Luke asked with great curiosity. Even someone as intelligent as him could tell that something was wrong, but couldn’t realise it happened because of himself.
After all, Luke had created such masterpieces and miracles with his own gift that creating massive walls made entirely of mythril, stretching two thousand kilometres and perhaps even beyond this region, had ceased to be surprising for him.
"Pure... mythril? Are my eyes deceiving me? Am I bewitched?" Kassadin muttered with great curiosity.
"You are not bewitched, no. But on the other hand..." Luke muttered, then added, "Yes, 100% mythril, isn’t it cool?"
Kassadin couldn’t say anything in response to these words. The old duke’s face was filled with nothing but a smile; that was all.
"It was a bit expensive, actually, but... it all came out of my uncle’s pocket, so... meh... I don’t really care," Luke said suddenly, and then began pointing at a few soldiers.
When Kassadin had composed himself, Luke turned to him and asked, "Can I take these soldiers under my command for half a month?"
Kassadin then put on a serious expression and thoughtfully grabbed Luke’s shoulder, saying, "Luke, you are a Hiera. You don’t need to ask me. If what you want are the Wolves of the North, they are all at your command."
Luke rolled his eyes and said, "I am aware of that, but I am here as a family member, so I must show respect."
Then, turning to the soldiers, he said, "We will go to the area on the far right of the walls, which is about 1,200 kilometres from here, and I will close off the area that extends to the mountains in just four days!"
Immediately afterwards, he said, "Those I have chosen will advance towards the area at the end of the mountain range to the west. What I want from you is to wait there until I arrive. There will be no need for infrastructure for the walls, and this will be the easy part, but your presence will be used to measure the areas. You have four days to go west!" he ordered.
As soon as Luke gave these orders, not only the soldiers he had chosen, but every ’wolf’ in the vicinity began to cheer.
Luke took a deep breath and began to walk.
In a short time, Luke managed to reach the side of the Ancient Dragon Shenhal and, without stopping for even a second, walked from the dragon’s wing to its neck, then used his hands, covered in dark flames, to make a large rope and cling to the dragon’s horns.
"To the East," said Luke, this time in the Ancient Dragon language.
With that, Shenhal took off immediately and covered the enormous distance in just ten short minutes.
It was indeed a very fast dragon, especially considering its size.
When Luke managed to reach the easternmost part of the walls, the area where they curved around and covered the city and villages, he immediately began to assess the area with his eyes.
A massive area of 110 metres and nearly 700 kilometres. Luke estimated it to be a distance worth nearly 100,000 gold pieces or maybe a little bit more.
Still, Luke was aware. His task was to lay the walls; it was the Wirgos themselves who would determine what this place would become.
So Luke didn’t need to worry about anything. He just had to do his best and create the most perfect walls possible.
That was precisely why Luke, his eyes sparkling, had once again greeted the Esphia people watching him and the Shenhal he was riding, then jumped down from his dragon’s back after approaching the walls a little.
He had softened his fall slightly with air magic and landed on the walls.
Everything had to be perfect or close to perfect.
The system could correct Luke’s planned drafts up to a certain point, but for this, regional maps had to be available in the system, and Luke’s gift provided him with such an opportunity.
So he had to do his best to keep everything mathematically correct and complete the measurements to establish the draft.
Now it was time to take measurements.
