CHAPTER 79: INTO THE DUNGEON

Within a day, Callum had used his magic to explore a vast area spanning nearly two thousand kilometres.

Callum had calculated the randomness and similarity of the areas where the Northern Magical Monster Gates opened and found the dungeon itself.

Of course, everything started when this report reached Luke.

Seven hundred dark elves fully capable of combat, along with Callum and Kevin, had begun moving directly toward the location marked on the map, following Luke.

It took them half a day to advance with so many people. Nevertheless, they managed to reach the area they had hoped to reach.

The area in front of Luke was much different from what he had expected.

There were three dungeons in the Hiera Empire, two of which were in a duchy and the other in a marquisate.

The current dungeon was in the prince of Hiera’s territory.

This dungeon was not a strange structure. It had a normal entrance, like the doors of a palace, with large wooden doors that seemed to have been carved by human hands or created by a druid’s magic.

It was a place surrounded by strange structures covered in ice.

Luke spread his magic around to see if there were any traps, and after a quick search, he could see that there were none.

Dungeons were not places filled with traps like those described in ancient books. Still, it was a known fact that they contained treasures.

The dungeons were like something that constantly renewed its life energy, as if the dungeon itself had a consciousness, trying to reward those who entered it.

It was as if the dungeon itself was saying, "If you’re fighting to the death, you deserve it."

Luke, however, had no interest in treasures or anything else.

His only goal was to enter the dungeon, reduce the danger, and solve the specific lock within it. In other words, he had the necessity of reducing the number of magical monsters.

When he turned his gaze to the small army behind him, he said, "I will not allow any of you to die. This is an order. Stand side by side and kill every magical creature you see." Then he walked towards the two large doors of the dungeon and slowly pushed them open.

Immediately after that, he stepped inside the dungeon.

The moment he entered, he felt as if he were in a completely different world. A place much larger than the entrance outside greeted him.

Zigzagging and other shapes of paths, insects roaming around, and much more could be seen just at the entrance.

Some of the dark elves immediately lit the torches next to them with their spells.

The interior was pitch black, and they would need light once the entrance door closed.

When the entrance door finally closed, Luke immediately gave Callum the order to move forward.

He knew that Callum would notice more than he did.

As the group began to move forward, different areas and paths began to emerge, and the group naturally began to split into different units.

Elsa had two hundred dark elves under her command, Kevin had another two hundred, Luke had another two hundred, and Callum had a hundred dark elves under his command.

The four groups, each taking a different path, began to move forward in different ways.

Every five minutes,s they moved forward, the areas became larger and larger. The corridors grew wider, and magical monster sounds began to echo from the distance.

These sounds might have been spine-chilling for ordinary hunters, but for the dark elves, whose lives revolved around hunting, they were nothing.

For Luke, however... Luke was the master of an Ancient Dragon. The roar of an Ancient Dragon was more terrifying than any fear that the most malevolent creature could instil in him.

Though there was no reason for Luke to fear that roar, it did not change the reality of the situation.

Luke immediately ordered the two hundred dark elves behind him to draw their weapons, and with that, the sound of nearly a hundred and fifty people drawing the hilts of their mithril weapons echoed throughout the corridor.

The sound was so deep that the magical beasts’ cries suddenly ceased.

Of course, this didn’t last very long...

Just fifteen seconds later, a vibration began to approach them from the farthest part of the corridor. The rapid footsteps that followed and the rising roars indicated that danger was approaching.

Luke immediately prepared for battle with the 150 dark elf warriors and 50 dark elf archers behind him.

Luke pulled a sword from his inventory.

The Hieras used special weapons. From the weakest to the strongest, from the exiled to the crowned, each of them possessed at least one of these special weapons.

[Weapons made from Ancient Dragon Teeth.]

Dragon teeth and Ancient Dragon teeth were very different things.

Even the corpse of an Ancient Dragon, which was nearly impossible to kill, as they were essentially immortal and could only be slain in battle, and even then only with the approval of the gods and goddesses, would not yield its teeth.

In short, whether you used magic or a very special tool, it was absolutely impossible to separate the bones of an Ancient Dragon. Of course, there was another way to obtain those teeth.

Convincing the Ancient Dragon itself.

Of course, Andromeda Ariadne Hiera had already done this long ago, using the black fire itself to burn and shrink the teeth, thereby creating thousands of weapons.

The Empress had directly forged the Ancient Dragon’s bone in the black fires, using the nerves of an Ancient Dragon to combine the two and create a bow.

This was the very bow that the fourth princess was currently using.

The blessed Ancient Dragon spears, swords, arrows, bows, rapiers, hammers, shields, armour, and many more were specific tools that were bound to the souls of those who could use them, allowing only them to wield them.

Ordinary dragon bones, however, were things anyone could use... just like the person who killed Luke’s mother, Lily...
