CHAPTER 112: CHAPTER 112- AUDIENCE WITH THE KING AND QUEEN

The three holy knights looked up, only to find Anastasia glaring down at them.

"This is because you guys drank too much yesterday. If you knew that you guys were going to have bad hangovers the next day, why did you drink so much in the first place?"

Bob and the others had no excuse.

"For goodness’ sake, learn to drink in moderation, will you?" Saying that, she put three lemon ginger teas on their table.

"Drink this, it will lighten your hangover somewhat".

"Ahh" The three holy knights looked at the lemon ginger tea as if it were an elixir and quickly drank it.

"I knew it, Miss Anastasia is the best wife," Marcus commented "The tea was delicious".

"Glad to hear that," she took their tea cups and turned around to leave. It was then...

"Eh? I don’t see Commander around. Where is he?"

Anastasia’s advancing steps halted in their place, and she asked without turning around, "W-Why are you asking me that?"

"Well, you are the headmaid, so I thought if anyone, you would know where the commander is?" Bob explained.

So that was the case, sighing in her heart, Anastasia straightened her glasses and explained. "If it’s lord Reinhardt, then he went to the palace".

Saying that, she turned around and walked off towards the kitchen, her acting immaculate.

.

.

Royal palace, Council chamber.

Reinhardt stood before the door waiting to be called inside. As this was an informal meeting, he was not decked out in his usual armor and gear. Instead ,he wore a formal suit tailored made for him from the best shop in the Lumiose City.

Not only did it suit him perfectly, but it also highlighted his well defined body and heroic features. As they say, clothes make the man, Reinhardt was living that very proverb.

Next to him was Zerina, all dolled up and looking like a heart stealing beauty.

Soon, the guard called him, and he was given permission to enter.

"Only you, she must stay outside".

Reinhardt nodded and told Zerina to stay there for a while.

Inside, sitting on his throne was the King, next to him sat the Queen, her every gesture as beguiling as ever. Her caramel coloured skin, lustrous crimson hair, long shapely legs and pedicured toenails.

Simply by sitting there and doing nothing, she stole all the attention.

Reinhardt walked through the hall and got on one knee a little distance away from the throne.

"Your Majesties, the King and Queen, may Solaris reign forever".

The king nodded his head, acknowledging his presence, while the queen smilingly spoke to him.

"So you came, Divine Paladin Reinhardt".

"I wouldn’t dare ignore the command of the Queen".

"Haha, don’t be so stiff. It’s just us and some of our most loyal guards here. You can speak a little more freely; this is not an official audience".

"If you so order. Then, can I ask why you called me here?"

The queen rested her face on her hand, her long fingers raised her veil just enough to reveal her plump cherry red lips containing endless seduction.

"Un, first let me start by thanking you for the service you have performed for the kingdom up until now. You are one of the few knights who still embody the core knightly virtues. Thanks to your protection, the kingdom and its people are still able to live their lives. While you and the knights fight in the rough and unforgiving conditions of the borderlands to defend the country, we on the other hand, live comfortably in our chambers".

Reinhardt shook his head. "What is her Majesty saying. It is our duty and task to fight; it is what makes us the knights, and it is what we signed up for when we became knights. As the Queen, you are not only the head of the state, supporting millions of people, but you are also the symbol of unity. I would fail as a knight if I let you step into the battlefield".

"Fufu, you are really a knight down to your very bone. I see, leaving the display of loyalty aside, I really want to thank you. As you know, abolishing slavery wasn’t easy. It took a lot of time and resources to remove them from the kingdom. However, as you can see, there are still some who refuse to let go of the old customs. Your actions helped me identify the wrongdoers and punish them. Which is why I want to reward you. Is there anything you want?"

Being rewarded by the Queen, one need not even mention how big and prestigious of a thing it was for a knight; no, anyone in this country.

Reinhardt thought for a second before raising the issue he had in mind for coming here.

"My actions were purely for the benefit of the people of my territory and Kingdom. However, if you are bent on rewarding me, then I would like to have the demi humans tribe be recognised as citizens of this kingdom".

!!!

Everyone present in the hall was shocked by the knight’s statement. Recognising the demi humans as official citizens of Solaris... did he hear what he just said?

The Royal guards were shocked; however, it was not their position to butt in.

"Reinhardt, do you even know what you just asked?" The king questioned.

"Yes, your Majesty, I am fully aware of what I am asking," the former nodded his head, acknowledging his previous statement.

"Are you out of your mind? Do you even know what recognising the demi humans as citizens of the state entails?"

The king shouted, his mood foul. Nevertheless, Reinhardt did not retract his statement.

"Please calm down, Your Majesty, I’m sure Sir Divine Paladin has a plausible reason for making such a demand." The queen calmed the king down and then turned towards Reinhardt.

"Even though I said I would reward you, you should know how big, no, troublesome of a thing you asked for is. Are you asking this while fully knowing the consequences?"
