CHAPTER 126: CHAPTER 126- ZERINA VS KAELITH (2)

Zerina appeared on the stage and looked around. There was no trace of her opponent anywhere. Suddenly, her instinct flared, and she immediately executed a nimble dodge to the side.

At that exact moment, a gigantic shadow swooped down and tore through the stage and the coliseum alike as if it were paper.

Zerina after dodging, looked at the gouge that was left behind, an excited smile appeared on her face.

The next second, she transformed into a black streak that chased after the flying Gryffin. As someone from the panther tribe, she was extremely swift and able to keep up with her opponent even while the other party was flying.

On top of the Gryffin, seeing that her opponent was able to keep up with their speed, a small grin appeared on Kaelith’s face. The next second, she pulled on the reins and executed a split S manoeuvre, diving back at the pursuer.

SCREE... In just about a second or two, the image of the giant Black Gryffin magnified in front of Zerina’s eyes. At the same time, the teaching of Reinhardt flashed in her mind.

"Remember this, when a gryffin knight charges at you, most often than not, it would be the beast that would be attacking you first with its claws. If it’s the beast, then you got yourself an opportunity. Seek the window that would appear at the very moment it swipes its claws. If it’s you, I know you can do it".

SLASH... The Black Gryffin slashed forward with its two arms, bisecting everything in its proximity.

"I can see it." Zerina, who jumped right before the claws could hit her, saw the opening that Reinahrdt mentioned. Right between its two powerful forelegs, right between its chest, there was a gap. She did not miss that opportunity and directly dove towards the beast.

ROAR... the beast roared.

"Hm?" Feeling its emotions, Kaelith furrowed her brows and looked into its eyes. Immediately, as if there was a telepathic communication between them, she understood what it was saying.

"What a sneaky tactic. To think that you would latch onto its body. But don’t think that you can hang onto it forever... Velgrys".

She called out its name. Immediately, the beast flapped its wings, increasing its speed and performing rapid barrel rolls in the sky.

"Kuh!!" Unable to hold out against the wind pressure, Zerina was forced to let go.

However, she was simply unwilling to just be on the defensive as such, right after she let go, she activated her skill [Spirit Hollow Fangs], transforming her hands and legs into spirit claws and sending forth a storm of slashes.

CLANG... CLANG... CLANG... Kaelith easily dodged most of the attacks; those that hit were stopped by the armor on the beast.

"Tsk... that’s one tough armor." Zerina clicked her tongue and fell to the ground. Right before she hit the sands, she kicked the air fiercely and nimbly landed on the ground.

"If I can’t reach you, then l can only make you fall".

RAWRR... She gave a primal roar and activated her [Spirit Panther Maw]— [Hollow Gravity Beams].

Eyes glowing, a giant phantom panther head manifested around her, its maw wide open. The next second, from the phantom’s open mouth, a couple of purple black hollow beams were fired.

These hollow beams were extremely fast and quickly caught up to the Gryffin.

Hmph, Kaelith snorted maneuvering the gryffin expertly. However... SCREEE... the Gryffin suddenly cried.

"What?"

Looking around, Kaelith noticed that one of the beams she thought she had dodged had actually exploded at the right wing of her Gryffin, injuring it.

Additionally... "The armor around its ring wing got bent?"

Thanks to its incredible toughness and the orihalcum armor, the Gryffin was relatively safe. However, the area where it was hit, the armor around that part, got seriously contorted.

"These beams, they hold the power of gravitational force," She quickly realised the essence of her enemy’s attack. Alarmed, the Vice Commander of the Black Gryffin Legion executed several graceful manoeuvres.

However, it was not so easy to dodge Zerina’s [Black Hollow Beams], pulling and distorting anything that it hits, but unlike laser, it does not travel straight and instead shoots in a curve and sinuous manner.

"It is indeed a little troublesome to dodge all that. However, it is far from enough to stop us from sailing through the skies. Roar...Velgrys"

SCREEE... RUMBLE... The gryffin cried out, generating a large number of slithering thunderbolts all around it. These thunderbolts stopped all the incoming Black Hollow Beams.

Outside the mirror, the spectators were all enamoured by the incredible display of strength and skills from the participants.

Slowly by slowly, some of the ordinary folks started retracting their opinion of a demi human being a lesser rae. The power they showed right now was top tier even when compared to the knights of their kingdom.

RUMBLE... from his seat, Vaerion glanced up.

Diana nodded, "It is like our Serenity Pool. However, will it be okay? If the Vice Commander has activated that skill, it means that she is finally serious".

"Don’t worry, even she knows how to pull back her punches. That said, it is amazing how that level 8 therianthrop warrior was able to push her to this extent".

Back inside the mirror, Zerina looked at the Gryffin and the knight covered in lightning and narrowed her eyes. There was so much lightning discharge that from a distance, they looked like a ball of current with them as the core.

"When the Black Gryffin Legion charges, storm follows. This saying comes from the fact that Gryffins are beasts that are inherently able to manipulate lightning. Your opponent will most definitely use this attack..."

At the distance, as she saw the giant ball of current drop towards her, she remembered the words Reinahrdt told her.

"So that is a Gryffin Knight’s [Teravoltaic Charge]. Interesting"

RAWR... Zerina gave a loud war cry and upped her attacks.
