CHAPTER 131: CHAPTER 131- INVITATION TO THE WEDDING

"Reinhardt and... Zerina, the two of you stood by your words. The latter even performed splendidly in the Exhibition match against the Vice Commander of the Black Gryffin Legion and proved her and the demi human’s worth to the people of the kingdom. And so, as promised, I passed the law. However, whether it will fail or pass will depend on the actions of you two now".

Reinahrdt and Zerina both got onto their knees. The queen continued, "I called you two for a couple of reasons. The first is to congratulate Zerina for that splendid fight you put up in the exhibition match. The second is to Knight you".

The end of her words caused Zerina to widen her eyes. She looked at the queen, who was now holding up a ceremonial sword in her hand and the quietly smiling Reinhardt by his side.

Fierce as she was, her eyes still got a little emotional. Once knighted by the Queen, which all knights go through once they reach level 6, she would be truly and officially become a citizen of the Kingdom of Solaris.

From that far away, dreary frontier village where hope seemed almost dim and just surviving was difficult in itself to become a citizen of one of the Seven Great Kingdoms.

It could be said that the process took a long but now that she was here, she was truly grateful and expectant for her people. Finally, there was some hope for her people, hope for the demi humans.

"Come forth, Zerina. You have proven your courage, your honor, and your unwavering heart. From this day forth, you shall rise as a knight of the realm, sworn to protect the kingdom and its people, not just in times of triumph, but in hours of despair"...

"Do you take the oath to stand guard over our lands, to uphold justice, to shield the innocent, and to carry the weight of our hopes upon your shoulders?"

"Yes".

"Will you remain steadfast through peace and war, through light and shadow, through glory and grief?"

Zerina nodded her head, taking the oath. The Queen then lowered the ceremonial sword on her shoulders.

"Then rise, Zerina of the Temple of Light. Rise as a knight of the crown. Let your blade be our shield, and your name be written among the honoured".

With that, Zerina was finally one of them, a knight and a citizen of the kingdom.

The latter, while kneeling on the ground, tried her best to keep her emotions in check. After Zerina moved back, the queen continued with her dialogue.

"Now that this is over with, let’s move on to the more pressing issues. Reinhardt, I have received your reports regarding the urgent need for management in the city that was once ruled by Baron Chetak. It is to my understanding that you are currently managing it, right?"

"That is correct".

"In that case, you will continue to govern it. I appoint you as the acting governor of that city. Since it will be a place born anew under you, come up with a name for your city too".

"Eh?" Reinahrdt was stunned. While he did give her a report detailing the extenuating circumstances and an urgent need for a government authority in the city, he did not expect the queen to appoint him the governor of the place.

"However, Your Majesty, our headquarters of the Temple of Light is based in Lumiose City".

"Building can be constructed easily. Make a funding budget, if it’s not overboard, I can approve it. Do you have anything else to say? In the first place, it is by your own action that the city now lacks any government body. While I’m not criticizing your actions, given that you started it, you should see it to the end".

The queen’s command was absolute; there was nothing he could say at this point that could change her mind. And so, even while inwardly unwilling, he accepted his role as the new governor of that city.

Just thinking about the mountain of work waiting for him, he couldn’t help but shudder.

"Well, don’t worry. I am not leaving the government of the entire city on your shoulders. Marquis Boulevard came up with an interesting proposal during the council. Meet with him before you leave the capital. He will introduce you to your new secretary," The Queen added.

If he was getting an assistant, then it was good news. However, Marquis Boulevard, huh. Ever since that incident where he purged the demonically possessed humans, he was quite wary of the other party.

To think that he would help him out. Something didn’t fit right. Well, even if Reinhardt thought about it, he wouldn’t be able to figure out that Marquis Boulevard had turned a new leaf after getting hit with his [Radiant Ascension].

"Now that you have taken the role of the governor and added a new reform to the kingdom, I expect great things from you two. Now for the last announcement..." She looked at the two guests who were present here at this moment.
