CHAPTER 141: CHAPTER 141- SNOWPOINT CITY (2)

Of course, forty carriages were not needed just to carry things from their headquarters; most of the carriages were used to carry the luggage of the knights’ families and their own personal belongings.

And so, once everything was set, Reinhardt got on his horse and bid goodbye to the city and his new family in this world.

"Stay safe, my son. Also, keep sending messages. If there is anything I can do to help you, don’t hesitate to ask. I’m sure you will find it difficult in the beginning. However, once you get used to it, you will feel like it’s much better than being on a battlefield and fighting demons".

Standing at the gate of the Arknight estate were Raymond, Verdia, and Arthur bidding him goodbye. The latter was trying to man up and not cry.

Verdia was waving her hands towards him, saying that she would come and visit him sometimes, her manner graceful.

"Ah, thanks for the help earlier, father" Reinhardt thanked from his horse.

Raymond had made provisions for a few of the servants to go along with him. As he would be staying in an empty mansion from now on, he would need people to take care of it.

Additionally, as the son of a duke and the new governor of the city, it wouldn’t look good if he didn’t have any servants by his side.

Of course, these servants were not going with him permanently. They have families here in Lumiose City and cannot relocate; besides, they had no motivation to leave the household anyway.

The only reason they were going with him was because it was the duke’s order and that their task was to train a new batch of servants worthy of the Governor of the city. Once they finish their task, they can return back.

Of course, not all servants were going with him temporarily. Anastasia and a few of the maids and servants she selected would move with him to the Snowpoint City permanently.

Well, Anastasia’s husband Bob was moving with him, so it was only a natural choice for her. Besides, even if she moved there, she would still be the headmaid there, so her position did not change.

NEIGHH... in the distance, the horses pulling the carriages neighed. It was time to move. Thus began Reinhardt’s brand new journey.

.

.

Three days later, they arrived in front of the city gate, or should he say what remained of it after he destroyed it using his skill.

Right after entering the city, the view that greeted him first was dirty roads, blocked sewers, mountains of trash, and the unhygienic living conditions of the populace of this city.

As the only clean part of the city was the central district, the other places looked a complete mess.

"Ahh, no matter how many times I see it, I can’t help but say how disgusting of a place this is."

By his side, Zerina in her new knight uniform, spoke. After she was knighted, Reinhardt not missing the opportunity, quickly scouted her. And so she became the fourth member of his order with the rank of a holy knight. That is to say, level 8.

It was not only she who was complaining, Ryley his current acting Vice Commander was too.

"I’m gonna have a lot of work on my plate again. Ah, when will the days of excessive workload end? Damn commander, it’s all your fault".

The other knights of the order not used to the too frank behavior of their Vice Commander they never thought existed, were quite bothered. The man he was talking in that manner was a level 10 legendary hero after all.

And so, while accompanied by the knights of his order, Reinhardt and the others marched their way inside the city. Their convoy attracted a lot of attention.

"Who are these people? Are they going to take over everything again?"

"Quickly go and hide. Don’t let them see your daughters".

The people of the slums, unaware of the news of a new Governor assigned to the city, gave them less than friendly stares. What’s more, their words even indicated their hate for the rich and the oppressed lifestyle.

Well, from their view, his convoy of knights and more than forty carriages might seem like a procession of the rich.

The snowpoint city was as big as Lumiose city. However, it felt small due to the fact that except for the central district, there was nothing to see here other than rampant poverty.

There was not even a proper housing structure for the poor. All they lived in were pitched tents, and that too was made from torn and discarded clothes. Their living condition was so unsanitary that it was honestly a miracle that an outbreak of disease did not occur in this city.

As one slowly got closer to the central district, one could see some structures slowly propping up. These small one story, broken down buildings were in the suburban area.

The people here are able to live a slightly better lifestyle thanks to the support of the people from the central district. Of course, they too were being exploited and used as overworked labourers in the factories every single day.

Needless to say, the gazes they were getting weren’t too friendly. However, it was still better than the outer district.

After one crosses this area, the Central district finally comes into view. Tall buildings, streets filled with sparkling lights, coagulation of noises, vibrant auras of the populace and and of course clean and clear environment.

Coming from the outer district to the central was like arriving in a whole different world. A large wall that divided the central district from the other parts of the city appeared in front of Reinahrdt’s convoy.

Standing in front of the wall, near the gate, was a group of people with expensive clothing and jewelry.

"Ah, Lord Reinhardt has arrived. We welcome you to your new city!!" The group of people bowed. It appeared that they were here to welcome them.

Reinhardt strutted ahead and passed by the group without even acknowledging them. Following their commander’s lead, the knights did the same and walked past them too.
