The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World
Chapter 162- Holy Knights Vs Divine Paladin
CHAPTER 162: CHAPTER 162- HOLY KNIGHTS VS DIVINE PALADIN
Marcus, who was Vangeance’s teacher, had a strange expression on his face.
"Well, if you look past his quirkiness, you can see that he is trying to master the [Heart of the Sword]" Zerina pointed out.
Reinhardt’s [Holy Blade Arts] Second Technique uses the [Heart of the Sword] as a basis for executing the technique.
Unity between three, it was easy to say, but very hard to achieve.
"Well, that boy can manage something on his own" Marcus grumbled.
While Vangeance did manage to execute the technique, it was riddled with inaccuracies and can hardly be called the second technique.
Nevertheless, even in that state, a knight who has mastered the [One with Sword] cannot be underestimated. Even while handicapped, he gave a good beating to the squires.
When it seemed like the squires would suffer another defeat, it was then... Kevin performed something incredible. He jumped with an obvious overhead swing, a textbook aggression.
In response, Vangeance calmly raised his sword to block the attack. But it was then that the squire did something unthinkable. Mid-air, just as the blade was about to clash, Kevin shifted his weight, twisting his torso and performing a tight somersault.
The sword that was just about to drop on Vangeance, traced a harmless arc through the air, passing over the latter’s shoulder, and then landing with a thud behind him. Then, before anyone could react, he landed a blow on the knight.
BANG... a jab to the solar plexus from the hilt of the sword sent the knight flying back. A scene that shocked all the knights who were dominating their own battlefield.
Vangeance flew back, just as his body was about to leave the small circle, his eyes widened dangerously. In a fluid motion, he rotated his sword and plunged it into the ground, thus dispersing all the momentum.
Although the sword carved through the ground, it managed to hold on just before the line.
With a perfect balance, Vangeance stopped his lower body from touching the ground. Then he made a reverse flip and landed on the small circle again.
"That was fire. What the hell was that brat?"
He questioned Kevin, his eyes extremely excited. It didn’t look like he suffered any damage from the squire’s last attack.
"What was going on?" The other squires also looked surprised. They couldn’t understand how he accomplished what he did.
"I-I don’t know. I just imagined the training I did with my teacher long ago, and my body just moved on its own at that moment," Kevin answered. Even he didn’t know how he did what he did.
In another battlefield, standing in the small circle and monitoring Vangeance’s match, was a silver haired petite girl. Surrounding her from all sides were squires who looked like they had been stomped like a bug.
However, she did not pay any attention to them and instead looked at the balck haired boy who managed to land a blow on Vangeance.
"Interesting... is that what they call [Transition]? The state of having absolute freedom over one’s body, technique and skill? The way he transitioned his attack, even while airborne to something else right as it was about to hit. I see now what the Commander is trying to show us".
The girl quickly realised what the young squire did. However, not all knights were as perceptive as her.
Some understood what he did, finding clues from his movement, while others were like Vangeance, impressed and in awe at the talent of the newbie.
In the distance, Reinhardt let slip a smirk as he observed the boy with his [Eyes of Divine Clarity].
"He? Did he just use [Transition] without even mastering the [One with the sword] first?" Bob and the other holy knights were amazed.
This boy who did not receive even a single invite from any of the knight orders due to his inability to use mana in the magic knight exam, had actually managed to do something that even the knights of their order of the Temple of Light had yet to master.
"Commander, did you know about his talent all along?"
Reinhardt nodded his head; however, he did not explain any further. The boy might have used [Transition]; however, it was just a stroke of coincidence. It did not mean that he mastered the state.
As could be seen from the match from here after, Vangeance completely dominated them, until they could not even remain standing.
The practice went on for three hours straight before they dispersed to continue on with the daily activities of the day.
On this day, the populace of the city noticed a strange change in the members of the order of the temple of light. Not only were they all exhausted, but they were also visibly depressed.
The battle with the knights had shown the devastating gulf in strength between the knights and the squires. So much so that it was disheartening.
Of course, they did not stay like this forever, nor did their work allow them to. After a day of community work and sleep, it was back to training the next day. It was a group battle again. However, there was an additional circle today.
What did this mean?
All the squires and knights have occupied the other circles, leaving only this one empty. The ones who were not an idiot, quickly arrived at a conclusion so chilling that they actually felt their bodies shudder.
Not in fear mind you, but in excitement.
Was it really going to happen today, the show that they have been waiting for?
As if to answer their expectations, the holy knights stretched their bodies and slowly entered inside the circle.
WHOAAA... At that instant, the place was abuzz with the gasps of the knights who were waiting for this to happen for who knows how long.
"W-What’s going on?" Surprised by the sudden cheers of the knights, Kevin asked looking around in confusion.
"You idiot, everyone is excited to see the battle that will start now"...
