The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World
Chapter 58- The Fight is Over
CHAPTER 58: CHAPTER 58- THE FIGHT IS OVER
Time stopped. And then with Reinhardt as the centre, white lines that looked very much like circuits of a board, stated spreading from his skin to everywhere around the hall.
These circuits that pulsed as if alive possessed such immense divine energy that it could even compare to the celestial realm of Dioanax at this moment.
"Kuhh!!" Reinahrdt groaned, his heterochromatic eyes shone brightly, and with the final pulse from the circuit, the skill was fully activated.
.
.
Outside, the knights of the Order of the Temple of Light were still engaged in a fierce fight against the demonic monsters. Their numbers spilling out from the dungeon was so vast that even Holy knights like Bob and Grey were surprised.
Although monsters like Manticores were not much of an opponent for them, when in those numbers, even they were stalled for a while. Nevertheless, thanks to Zerina taking rein of the demi human races, they got some swift backup.
With the demi humans now joining them, the number of spilling demonic monsters was much more manageable.
"There are still so many!! Will the Commander be alright? I saw him going inside the gates" Kevin asked, culling down monsters with his heavy sword.
"Haha, brat you are a thousand years too early to worry about the Commander. He has gone in to defeat the demon and close the dungeon."
A high ranking knight answered.
Dungeon... that term again. Since a while ago, he had been curious about it.
"Um, senior. What is a dungeon?"
The one to ask the question was Gwen. Unlike the knights who fight the demons and go on expeditions, the humans at large were still unknowledgeable about the demons.
The knight who was asked the question thought for a while before answering.
"Dungeon... well, to put it simply, they are a special realm that is created by a demon to raise monsters and their army. They have absolute control over that domain, and it is also where they can exercise their greatest strength. In short, you say that it is their lair in which the demons reside, and they are quite annoying to raid. The gate you see right now is one of those dungeons".
The new recruits nodded. Then again, if the dungeon was a place as dangerous as described, then wasn’t letting their commander go in on his own a mistake?
"I said don’t worry, Commander is not a man who can be held down in such a place. He had once gone toe to toe against the 7th Heavenly King and is one of the few humans to have ever reached level 10. So calm down and do your part, he will naturally emerge victorious... Oh? Speak of the knight".
The knight who was doing the explaining looked at the gate, which started fluctuating unnaturally. Immediately, he understood what was going on and started laughing.
Soon after, the number of the spilling monsters started decreasing, and they started charging inside the gate rather than outside.
FLASH... white light flashed, and with it, all the demonic monsters were disintegrated. Seconds later, a tall, broad knight donning a shining divine armor, walked out.
Behind him, hiding themselves in his wide and reliable back, were seven demi humans wearing white clothes. They were precisely the sacrifices that were chosen for the fire festival.
As soon as Reinhardt was surrounded by the knights of his order, who were once again amazed by his skills and how quickly he closed the incident.
Members of the Order of the Temple of Light weren’t the only ones who surrounded him. Zerina and the demi human race also gathered near him, showing their appreciation and thanks for saving them.
"We are really really grateful. The members of the seven tribe will never forget this favour" Zerina bowed in a way that showed a demi human’s utmost sincerity and respect.
The other demi humans also did the same. Having been living in a web of deception for so many years, their eyes were opened by he knights. If not for them, they would still be living in the deception and sacrificing their own members to the demon every year without even realising it.
In a way, it could be said that the bias they held towards humans also disappeared somewhat after this incident.
"Elina, thank god you are back. I was extremely worried."
Eldrin rushed forward and tightly hugged his wife he thought he would never see again. Tears stained his cheeks, and the man cried his heart out.
"I am back" Elina said in a daze, her expression extremely complicated. From time to time, she would gaze at Reinhardt, who was at the centre of all the praises.
She should have died inside that hall, the moments before her death, the images were still too clear to her. It was a harrowing experience, something that made her tremble in fear every time she recalled it.
Pain, agony... she should have died in that place. Yet when she opened her eyes again, she found herself back in the hall, still alive. It was not only her, but all those who died before her, were all alive too.
If there was anything different, it would be the absence of Chief Elmond and the presence of the knight who stood before them, looking relieved.
Elina who was staring at Reinhardt, suddenly caught his eyes. At that moment, her heart skipped a beat, and she couldn’t help but look away.
The other demi humans also went back to their family, crying and rejoicing at their safety. With the battle over, the knights of the Order of the Temple of Light set about healing the injured and clearing the battlefield.
The fight with the demonic monsters, as one would expec,t resulted in a lot of collateral damage. Building crushed, walls crumbled and earth toppled, the village square was a complete mess.
Thankfully, there were no casualties, only slightly injured people who could be easily cured using the knight’s holy skills. Buildings could be rebuilt again, but life... it was too precious.
