CHAPTER 38: 038

Tristan and Nita turned around after they heard Trevor’s voice, it took both of them a while to react. Tristan panicked immediately and quickly stepped in between them.

Gale looked slowly from Trevor to Tristan but silently gestured towards the car parked a few distance away.

"Do you know him?" Trevor asked Tristan as his gaze moved to Gale with a frown.

He moved slightly in front of Tristan to shield him from Gale.

His eyes were silently judging Gale as he did not recognise him as a fellow student and he wanted to protect Tristan from Gale.

Everyone was quiet waiting for Tristan’s response to the question Trevor asked but Tristan did what was unexpected and he shook his head without hesitation.

"No, I do not know him". He replied, his voice soft but firm.

He stared squarely at Gale as a wild thought struck him.

For all he knew, the Alpha doesn’t care about him and has finally abandoned him. So he could care less if he left and never returned.

"Huh?" Gale couldn’t believe his ears and stared at Tristan in shock.

"You?!" He spat angrily through gritted teeth.

"I do not know him at all". Tristan repeated in a firmer voice as he realised the power his words held for the first time as Trevor was waiting for his permission but after his response Trevor turned to face Gale with a stern look.

Although he might be the beta to the Alpha King most people do not know him and he was still a lot different from a normal Alpha.

From his height to his build, Trevor would effortlessly defeat him in a fight because he stood over a foot taller than him.

Gale assessed the situation and knew he was at a losing end.

"Will you leave now, or should I call the authorities on you?

He doesn’t know you!" Trevor said, fully shielding Tristan from him.

Gale’s eyes tried to look at the Omega and his jaws clenched together as he had to control himself.

Giving up, he turned around and stormed towards the car.

"Fuck!" He cussed as his phone started ringing when he got into the car and Alpha Mitch’s number was displayed on the screen.

"Where are you?

Is he done yet?"

Alpha Mitch asked over the phone. Gale paused after he asked the question, he had no idea what to say to the question.

He could never tell him he let the Omega go and he cannot say they engaged in an argument that birthed the whole thing as the Alpha would get pissed at him again. They were merely trying to get over the former rift between them.

"Gale?"

"Yes Alpha, he is n...not done." Gale lied as he thought of what to do.

"Alright".

"Thank you" Tristan said to Trevor after Gale stormed off angrily.

"You don’t have to thank me. I’m glad to be of help" Trevor replied with a gentle smile tugging at his lips.

Nita watched them with a glint in her eyes, for the first time she witnessed the mischievous side of her best friend. But what was more interesting to her was Trevor.

"The bus is here" Trevor announced and they turned towards the direction of the bus.

Tristan looked at Nita nervously.

"Can I come to your place?" He asked and she nodded happily.

They got home and immediately she locked the door after them, she turned towards him.

"What happened?" She asked curiously.

"When?"

Tristan was confused and looked at her eyes wide with excitement.

"You lied!, you lied that you didn’t know him. You never lie, when did it start?" She asked in a rush.

"I had no choice, the mansion felt too stuffy. I’m not allowed to go anywhere or do anything on my own. I’m not a kid, he needs to trust me!" Tristan replied in frustration and the desperation in his voice made her excitement die down.

What had he endured to get to this point?.

"The Alpha?" Nita asked and he nodded.

"But you like him, don’t you?" she asked softly as she led him to the chair.

"Yes, I do but he deceived me. Why did he pretend and just start showing his true colours now?

I will get a divorce if I can and I will leave him!" Tristan yelled.

Nita flinched at his sudden outburst, for the first time she was seeing him at his wits end and pushed to the wall.

"Would he simply let you go?"

"He already admitted that he doesn’t like me. What then am I waiting for?

I’m not even asking for him to like me, I never expected it but at least I should be treated like a normal person". Tristan continued to pour out and wiped at his eyes.

Nita listened to him sobbed quietly, she gently rocked him until he exhausted himself.

They both slept off in that position until a sudden kick on the door startled them awake.

"Who?" Tristan frowned in the semi darkness.

Another kick on the door finally woke up and the both scrambled up with stunned looks on their faces.

"It’s him!" Tristan whispered and moved away from the door.

"Him?" Nita whispered-yelled as it took her a few seconds to understand who he was talking about.

She rushed to the door after the third kick and unlocked the door but it almost flew out of its hinges as it was opened with a sheer force that almost sent her flying to the other side of the room.

Like he had expected, Tristan gasped when Alpha Mitch appeared in the doorway with an expressionless face.

He wordlessly closed in on him. Tristan moved backward to escape him but he caught him and lifted him from the ground effortlessly.

"Let me go!" Tristan screamed but the grip on his body was enough to snap him into two.

He was carried away as he made his best efforts to get out of his grip but it was futile. He was held in the same manner even in the car as Gale drove them back to the mansion.

"I would never let you go," Alpha Mitch said sudd

enly in a distant voice. Tristan peered up at him in confusion until he remembered what he had said a while ago.
