CHAPTER 51: 051

Tristan moved back after his daring act, he smiled in satisfaction as the Alpha stared at him in slight puzzlement.

"You–

"Shhh, no words tonight" Tristan placed an index finger on his lips to stop him and that earned him another frown that slowly turned into a smirk.

Tonight, Tristan had decided that he would distract him fully and do something he would never have had enough courage to do in the past.

Soon they both laid naked in each other arms and the Alpha snored softly with his face stuck into the base of his neck and his arms securing him safely to his chest.

Despite the serenity of the night and the distant sounds of nightlife far away, Tristan finds sleep a difficult task. And his eyes remained wide awake for most of the night.

When the day breaks he would need to do something that would shatter his heart and probably make the Alpha hate him.

Thinking about it made him extremely sad but no tears came to his eyes, he knew clearly that this was for the best.

Soon, he fell asleep in the Alpha’s embrace but he woke up when the sky was clearing up.

He gently moved the covers away from his body.

Cold air hit his naked body and he picked up the Alpha’s shirt from the ground to cover his body as his own clothes had been strewn somewhere else.

He tiptoed to the bathroom to clean up for the day and task ahead. He spent a long time in the bathroom, not because of what he was doing inside but because he was constantly zoning in and out of thoughts.

He finally came out with a robe wrapped around his body and his long hair dripping water down as he removed the towel wrapped around it.

The roses he brought back from Agatha’s place were sitting in a pot by the nightstand and he made a mental note to remind his maid to see after it.

He went back into the closet and was there for a few minutes until he heard a sound from the room.

The Alpha was waking up, he realised and was beginning to freak out.

He heard another groan and he breathed out shakingly, he was now fully dressed and his things packed in a single bag.

Just a few clothes and other necessities.

He walked into the room with the bag and dropped it on the floor close to the door.

He turned to glance at the Alpha and he jumped back in surprise as the Alpha was sitting and staring at him like he was a strange entity.

"Wh–where are you going?

What are you doing?" Alpha Mitch asked in a hoarse voice as he rubbed sleep away from his eyes.

He frowned and groaned as it was impossible for him to understand the sight in front of him.

Tristan braced himself for his reaction.

"Good morning" he said with a smile and walked close to the Alpha.

"What is that?" Alpha Mitch asked again, shaking his head and looking back at the bag and his outfit.

He had thought he was dreaming when he opened his eyes to see him dressed and with a packed bag but he was sure now that he was not dreaming.

"It’s... my bag". Tristan replied, glancing back at the bag.

"I...I am leaving today. I–

"Who?

Who is leaving?" Alpha Mitch asked, looking around the room.

"Me," Tristan replied softly.

He barely started and he could tell it would not go well.

The Alpha’s head suspended and Tristan waited for him to talk.

He knew he cannot simply walk away, it is not going to work. The Alpha would be hot on his tails as always, so he was leaving on a mutual agreement was his plan.

He needed him to agree without a fight.

But even he wasn’t convinced with that thought.

"I do not understand what you think you are saying. Leaving where? For where?!" Alpha Mitch suddenly bellowed, causing him to jump back.

He took a step back as the Alpha rose from the bed and put on his pants.

"Is what is happening in the pack okay?

Everyone is saying it, I do not wish to continue like this. I am better off away from here!" Tristan replied, his usually soft voice struggling to meet the same loudness of the Alpha’s.

"So the pack is now your concern?

When did that start to be your problem?" Alpha Mitch yelled again and glared at him, and this time Tristan fell back in shock and at the intensity of his voice.

But he wasn’t going to back down.

Neither of them deserve this pain they are going through, it’s one today and another tomorrow.

They could wake up tomorrow and something else is happening.

The Alpha’s eyes shone with intense anger and fist clenched as he watched the Omega stood up from the floor.

He was barely up to his shoulder and looked frail like even the air could hurt him.

"You are not taking a step out of this place, don’t even think about it!" Alpha Mitch spat before storming out.

"Wait!

Please!" Tristan screamed but the door shut in his face and immediately locked from the outside.

He banged on the door several times and finally gave up and sat down on the ground.

He had expected his anger and outburst but he had not expected him to blatantly lock him up or even order him not to leave.

What was he thinking?

He was the Alpha King afterall.

Tristan took out his phone and started dialing Alpha’s number.

Even if he brought down the sky on him or raised the grounds, he would leave.

He cannot let this continue, they have gone through enough hurdles to last them a lifetime.

He is fine with everything but he was worried about him.

Tristan was slowly giving up but remembering the Alpha’s words that he was a burden, he stilled his mind and remained firm.

One of them has to give in and that person won’t be him.

A thought surfaced in his mind and he quickly searched for a number on his phone.
