The Alpha King And His Omega
Chapter 57 - 057
CHAPTER 57: 057
Tristan sat and listened to Nita as she continuously reminded him of how to act around Trevor.
Trevor had changed their lunch date to dinner date and he was not in any way thrilled about it but he does not want to disappoint her after all her effort.
"Are you listening to me?" Nita asked as she noticed his lack of enthusiasm.
Tristan nodded, but she was not convinced.
"Remember, this is a plan. Don’t mess it up." She cautioned and he nodded again.
"Do you even remember what happened at that party that night?" Tristan asked suddenly and she stopped in her tracks. She slowly shook her head and narrowed her eyes.
"What happened?"
Oh, I see you don’t remember," Tristan thought.
"Nothing", he replied to her. But his mind was not at peace.
What if Trevor makes the same move again tonight?
Tristan’s phone buzzed on the bed beside him and he glanced down at the screen and saw Trevor’s name flashing on it.
"Is that him? Is he here?"
Nida asked excitedly.
Tristan nodded at her before he picked up the call.
"I’m here," Trevor said through the phone. Tristan sighed softly.
"Make sure you have fun!" Nita reminded him excitedly as he headed towards the door.
"Okay" Tristan murmured.
He came out of the house to see a blue sleek car parked and Trevor leaning against it.
Tristan stopped and took a second to study him. Going on this date would change things between them and he is not sure he wanted that.
"Hi!" Trevor said with a wave after he noticed him.
Tristan smiled back at him as Nita’s voice echoed in his mind.
"Remember to smile more, don’t look like you are about to cry. Okay?".
She had said with a grin.
"You look good," Trevor said as his eyes traveled down his body.
Tristan froze and he had no idea what to do or say.
"You too," he finally managed with a forced smile.
Trevor held the door for him and he murmured thank you, and that made Trevor smile widely.
"I made a reservation for us for lunch but I had an emergency. I’m sorry" Trevor said as the car started and turned briefly to glance at him.
Tristan’s eyes subconsciously travelled to his grip on the steering wheel. He had his shirt rolled up to his elbow and couldn’t help but notice how small it was compared to Alpha Mitch’s.
His eyes travelled up his arm to his face. His hair was lightly brushed to the back showing his dark and arched brows.
His pheromones waft off lightly, minty and husky. But despite all that Tristan finds it hard to feel anything towards him.
Although, he had always been grateful and would still be grateful for always helping him. He is the kindest person he knows after Nita.
"We have arrived" He announced and turned to smile at him and Tristan did the same.
***
Their dinner went well contrary to Tristan’s expectations, and aside from the constant effort to do things for him through the course of the night nothing was unusual.
Tristan finds his gestures sweet and tries his best to go along with it.
"I hope you have forgiven me?" Trevor asked as they returned to the car.
"Yes".
There was no reason not to forgive him. He seemed like a good person and he had grown to rely on him.
"If that’s the case, can you accompany me to an event next weekend?" Trevor asked carefully as he studied the Omega’s face.
He had done everything in his power not to get distracted by him tonight.
He had slowly fallen for the Omega, from helping when he got bullied and to noticing he had trusted him.
Now, all he wants is to protect him forever.
That could only happen if the Omega was willing. He had gotten too drunk and carried away to forcefully kiss at that party.
It has dented his intentions and he is willing to start all over again. If that would get him to like him.
But, One thing was clear to him, the Omega would become his.
"Accompany you where?" Tristan asked softly, making sure not to sound uninterested as he stared at his face.
"I am representing my father at an event, it would be full of Alphas and other important people and it would be boring to go alone. Will you go with me?" He asked, slightly nervous as he realized the Omega looked bored.
"I will". Tristan said simply. Although he was doubting himself. From a date to an event where numerous people would see them together. Even if he does not like it, he was willing to do it.
At least to show himself he is finally moving on.
Trevor dropped him off after a few minutes.
Tristan absent-mindedly knocked on the door.
"You are back so soon!.
Tell me, how was it" Tristan frowned as Nita seemed more excited than him.
"Why do you seem more happy than I am?" He asked, taking a step away from her.
"Because...
"I want you to move on from that Alpha King" she confessed and sat down heavily.
"I will, and if I don’t, is there anything wrong with that?" Tristan asked in confusion.
"No!
You have to forget him.
You have no idea how much danger you would be in if you stayed with him." She said agitated.
Tristan’s mouth opened but no words could come out.
He could not believe his ears.
His best friend also thinks he is too weak to be with the Alpha.
He took a step back and nodded.
"You too?
I need to forget him because I’m not strong enough to take care of myself right?. Not even because he might be a bad person or something" Tristan said in a shaky voice. His vision blurred and his chest tightened.
"No!
That is not what I meant. I overheard the other Alpha’s conversation and he has a lot planned for him. I don’t want you to get caught in it. That’s all" Nita explained and moved to hug him.
Tristan relaxed after her words but he could not stop the tears. What started as a great night ended badly.
"I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it that way" Nita whispered.
