CHAPTER 85: 085

Alpha Mitch was going down for lunch when the front door of the pack house flung open and Nita walked in breathlessly.

His brows furrowed at the disturbance.

"Help- we need help." she said out of breath and her chest heaving as she stood looking at the Alpha in urgency.

"What happened?" Alpha Mitch asked, looking behind her for Mariah and Tristan.

"Tristan passed out!" She replied in a rush and pointed in the direction of the woods.

Alpha Mitch didn’t wait for another word before he sped towards the direction she had pointed.

He hadn’t gone for long when he saw Mariah with Tristan on her back and walking as fast as she could.

She noticed him and sighed in relief.

"Give him to me". Alpha Mitch ordered and took his Omega and effortlessly headed towards the hospital a short distance away.

Every passer-by watched with curiosity as the Alpha walked with his unconscious mate in hand.

The doctor didn’t waste time before he led the Alpha to a room and told him to lay him down on the bed.

Tristan’s consciousness returned as his back touched the bed and he looked at the anxious face in front of him and wanted to talk but his mouth could not make any sound. He closed his eyes again and let the hovering darkness claim him

"Alpha please leave us alone but I need to know what happened". The doctor said to Alpha Mitch as he moved to check on the Omega.

"I’m not leaving and I do not know what happened. They were in the woods, they went to swim I guess". Alpha Mitch replied in a single breath as he watched with heightened awareness.

"If you don’t leave I won’t be able to work properly, please leave". The doctor insisted,and Alpha Mitch cussed under his breath but left anyway.

He stood outside the door in the hallway and had his eyes glued at the door.

"Mitch". A gentle voice called, disrupting his thoughts.

He turned to see his Mother and Mariah walking towards him.

Nita was also behind them but his attention was on neither of them.

"Have they said what is wrong with him?" His Mom asked and he groaned but didn’t respond to her. She clasped her hands together and silently wished both the Omega and her unborn grandchild were alright.

The door opened and Alpha Mitch was in front of the doctor instantly.

"I’m so sorry but I have bad news." The doctor said looking at everyone’s face.

Nita’s heart beat fast as she suspected the worst, she clasped a hand over mouth and turned away.

Alpha Mitch waited eagerly for the doctor to complete his statement and he grew impatient almost snapping at him.

"He is in a critical condition and needs an urgent surgery because he just had a miscarriage". The doctor enunciated as carefully as he could.

Nita and Alpha Mitch’s Mom echo a gasp in unison.

The Alpha and his sister looked at the doctor with a frown.

"I think you are mistaken. He is not pregnant, how can he have a miscarriage?" Alpha Mitch asked with a humourless chuckle.

"I’m not mistaken, we need to operate on him now". The doctor replied firmly and left in a hurry.

Alpha Mitch froze, his mind went blank as he tried to process what he just heard.

He turned towards his mother to see if she was as confused as him but she glanced back at him with teary eyes.

Then it struck him like a bolt of lightning that she knew.

"You knew?" He asked but it was more of an accusation than a question.

She nodded and held his hand.

Snatching his hand back from her, he finally snapped.

"You should have told me!

Why am I in the dark about it?

What the hell happened?!" He bellowed and Nita and Mariah flinched.

His hands trembled as he fought to remain in control but it was impossible.

They all stayed quiet as they waited for the surgery to be over.

Almost two hours later, the doctor emerged from the room again and announced that he was done.

"Can I see him now?" Alpha Mitch asked, he had been restless for the entire time and different scenarios passed through his mind but he could not come up with a reason for lies.

"You have to wait for him to wait up". The doctor replied and went towards his office.

Inside the room, Tristan opened his eyes after it felt like he had been asleep for eternity.

His head was heavy and a mild headache pound in his temple.

"Where am I?" He thought faintly as the bare walls seemed to float around him.

He drifted in and out of consciousness and when the door opened again, the Alpha walked inside.

He stopped by the door and looked at him.

Their eyes met and Tristan wanted to reach out to hug him.

Alpha Mitch spent just a minute looking at him before he turned around and left again.

He didn’t stop outside the door where his mother sat with Nita and Mariah.

He continued walking off without looking back.

The three of them hurried inside the room and met Tristan deeply asleep.

Nita excused herself from the hospital and went outside as she could not stop the tears that had gathered in her eyes.

She brought out her phone and dialled Alpha Raul’s number.

"I don’t know I can do this anymore". She said in a shaky voice as soon as the call connected.

"What happened?

Are you alright?" Alpha Raul asked from the other side and she just silently sobbed into the phone.

"Are you hurt?" Alpha Raul asked worriedly.

"No". Nita replied in a choked voice.

She had called him because she had no other person to call while she needed someone to vent to.

Her best friend was going through a tough moment and she was also blaming herself.

But what could she have done?.
