CHAPTER 68: HER LOST SON

Dora watched her sit, her heart skipping beats.

"Kraken took him? When?"

"

Dora sniffed,"I had my grip on him, I swear, before I could do anything else, the kraken had threw me far away from him. I can swear I felt my whole body go numb."

Nyx shook her head still in a daze, half listening to Dora as she spoke.

She turned to stare at the stream, "Archi..she said softly."

Dora was feeling uncomfortable with her reaction, "Nyx, I am sorry, I promise to find him, I know he is not gone yet."

Nyx looked up at her, her eyes filled with tears, "How did you lose him? Why?" She whispered.

"It was my mistake, I should not have let him fill his keg, then the kraken would not have gotten to him."

Nyx closed her eyes, she didn’t know if she should cry, or do anything bad to herself. She sat on the ground, still in a daze, the only thing that kept playing in her head was Archi’s loss.

"Archi," she propped herself up with hands, but landed on her knees, because she was too weak to stand up.

"Take it easy Nyx," she rushed to Nyx and tried to help her up but she refused to let Dora help her.

"Let me be, I will not leave here till I see my son."

Dora was heartbroken, "Nyx," she covered her mouth, feeling so heartbroken.

"I am waiting for my son, until he comes back to me, I will not go anywhere," she shook her head, "I will wait for him."

Dora shook her head, and sat down beside her, "Nyx," her voice was broken, "I am so sorry, I promise to do anything to make it up to you."

Nyx felt her eyes burn with tears, "My son," she finally broke down in tears.

Dora wrapped a hand around her shoulders, trying her best to comfort her, "I am so sorry," she shook her head.

Nyx cried hard, "How could he just be gone? How did you? How could you lose him?" She palmed her face and cried.

Dora felt guilty, she sniffed, she also felt heartbroken, but still believed Archi was still somewhere out there.

"We shall see him, I believe so Nyx, there is no need to feel so broken, we will find him," she reassured her.

Nyx shook her head, as at that point she she didn’t want to be consoled.

"All I want is my son, and nothing more," she hugged herself, sorrow rocking her whole body.

Dora tried all she could to at least make ²³her stop crying, but Nyx would hear none of it, "What have I ever done wrong?"

"It was my mistake, I am very sorry," she held her tighter, struggling to hold back her tears.

"All I want right now is my son, I want nothing else," she shook her head, weeping profusely.

Dora was pained and she also cried with her.

"I never really offended anyone, what wrong have I ever done? I never asked for him in the first place, but now he was given to me and now she took him away?"

"Why did you give him to me in the first place only for you to take him just like that!" She looked at the half moon and screamed, her voice echoing.

"Nyx, please," Dora asked, her voice was choked.

But Nyx wasn’t ready to listen, "Why did you take him away?! He is my son, and not yours!" She yelled, she was blind with rage.

"Nyx," she gently held her hand but she slapped them away.

"All I want is my son, give him back to me, he is not your son okay? He is mine!"

Dora was touched, she palmed her face being sorry and guilty at the same time, "Why did I allow him to come with me in the first place?" She blamed herself over and over again.

"Give me back my son, just give him back to me, I need him now, give him back to me!"

Dora couldn’t watch anymore, she just palmed her face wallowing in sorrow and guilt, she would not stop blaming herself for putting Archi in this situation.

Nyx kept yelling and stomping and jumping around, still agonized; she was slowly losing it.

Dora walked up to her and held her hand, she squeezed it as hard as she could and she stopped yelling.

"Nyx, let us leave from here," she whispered.

"Why? Leave? You want me to leave here just like that?"

"Do we have a choice? Would you go down to the bottom of the stream in a search for him? I did.. that.. and I did not find him," she shook her head, her eyes filled with tears.

She felt her legs wobble, "Why did this have to happen to me?" She squatted, her kegs unable to carry her anymore, "All I want is my son, nothing more, nothing less."

Dora also squatted, "What do you think we should do? I do not have much knowledge about the creatures of the sea, I would have gone to his hideout."

Nyx palmed her face, "Is that important?"

"Definitely, it is, he must have taken Archi to his hideout, what else?"

"I do not want anything bad to happen to my child," she cried hard.

"Nothing will happen to him, I know so, he will be fine," she sniffed, her voice filled with hope.

Nyx rested her head on Dora’s shoulder, her eyes were now swollen and red, she couldn’t cry anymore yet she still cried.

"My son, where did you go?" Her voice broke.

Dora hugged her, gently patting her head, "He will definitely come back to us, I believe and so should you."

Nyx had returned to her state of daze, she slightly opened her mouth, thinking about her son.

"He will be fine Nyx, do not think negative, we will find him."

Nyx bit her lips, her eyes growing heavy, "Archi do not leave me," she muttered, saying this, she closed her eyes.
