The Alpha's Stripper Mate: Sold To Be His.
Chapter 43
CHAPTER 43: 43
NYLAH
"How on earth were you able to do that?" Xavier asked, visibly amazed as we walked out of the pack’s hospital.
I shrugged, "I read some books while I had nothing to do.
"That’s impressive, Nylah." he paused at his words and turned to me.
"Would you like to become the pack’s doctor?" He asked, hope and expectation etched in his voice.
I didn’t go to a medical school, nor did I know much about healing, I only read a couple of books that I didn’t even fully understand.
How was I going to treat a pack and its people? The lives of the wolves would depend on me and my knowledge, and I wasn’t sure I was ready to give that out yet.
"I- I don’t think I’m ready yet. That’s a lot of work, and I only know a few things." I tried to explain, but Xavier wouldn’t hear any of it.
"If a little knowledge can save broken bones and severed legs, then I’m willing to take that chance. It’s way better than not having any doctor in the pack at all." Xavier replied, and I knew that there was no need to go back and forth. His voice was conclusive.
"Don’t even think about saying no. I’ll give you whatever it is you want." He prodded, confirming my previous thoughts.
"I have one condition though," I stated, and he gestured for me to continue.
"I want to be able to see my friend, Arianna, I haven’t set my eyes on her since the day you took me from her house." I pointed out with pain in my voice.
"Consider it done. I’ll send my men to bring her here when the war is over, but I can’t let you leave the pack. It’s too dangerous." He stated plainly.
"So, what am I now? To you?" I asked, seizing the opportunity of finally having the chance for a conversation with Xavier.
This was the longest conversation we’ve ever had. Other times, he’d find a way to end the conversation before it even started.
"You’ll be my little slut of course, and the pack’s doctor." He said with a smile but I wasn’t satisfied.
"What about your bride-to-be? Ivy, when she comes, I’ll remain your slut for how long?" I would get up and go if he said I would.
I couldn’t see myself working for the pack with Ivy as the Luna. Even if I wanted to stay, she’d make life miserable for me.
"Ivy’s not going to step foot here anymore. She’s not my bride-to-be and you can be whatever you want to be to me. If you want to be my girlfriend, I can do that, if you want to be my lover, I can also do that, and anytime you want to be slutty, I’ll do that as well. Whatever you want my darling." He replied as a smile tucked at his lips.
I wanted to ask why he didn’t want to be with the princess of the other pack but I held myself back.
’One at a time Nylah, one at a time.’ I calmed myself before nodding my head.
We would talk about it some other time. Xavier had opened up to me more than he ever did and I didn’t want to push it too much.
"I need to check on the warriors, how about we finish up what we started in my room tonight?" He winked and I smiled, my mind tracing back to the memory of Xavier fucking me hard before he ran out to take a call.
"That would be a nice way to end the day." I nodded and with a slight kiss on my forehead, he made his way towards the direction of the training ground.
I was still in my nightwear, I headed to my room to take my bath and change into something better when Sofia blocked me before I got to the door.
"I heard you operated on a warrior. Are you okay? Were you hurt? Did he survive?" She threw questions upon questions at me, and I smiled at her worried face.
"It’s interesting how word flies in this pack. I’m fine. Why would you ask that? I wasn’t the one who was hurt." I replied with an arched brow, but then she gestured to my dress.
It was soaked with blood.
As I operated, I must’ve stained the dress with blood.
"Oh, it’s not mine, I guess it got stained while I was operating on him," I replied, and she let out a sigh.
"You scared me." She replied.
"So?"
"So what?" I returned
"Is he okay?" She asked, eyes widened with curiosity.
"New as day." I smiled proudly.
Sofia hugged me, not minding the dried blood on my dress.
"You did really good, Nylah. Everyone’s talking about you in the pack now." She added.
"The Alpha wants me to become the pack’s doctor." I voiced impulsively, and for some seconds, we stood there, both of us, thinking through what I had just said as if weighing the responsibility of the words.
"What do you think?" I summoned courage to ask again, but my cracked voice betrayed my courage.
"It’s good, but it needs a lot," Sofia commented honestly.
"That is why I need you to work with me." I quipped, and she looked at me like I’d grown two heads.
"Work with me Sofia, you know your way around herbs, you even said it yourself, your parents were healers, we can join hands together to make the pack a place of plants and healing like before."
"You don’t understand, Aveline. I can’t." She replied, turning around and walking into the room, but I followed her.
"I don’t need to understand. Do this for the people who didn’t even know what happened, then the innocent cubs who might get hurt during the coming war. Do it for them and write a documentary about your parents after you’ve saved lives." I continued relentlessly.
"We can do more together. The pack needs us, and the earth needs us." My eyes were pleading, and as Sofia stared into them, her resolve dissolved.
"Okay, fine. But it’s only for the period of the war. After the war, I’m leaving." She finalized, and I agreed that it was okay enough for me to have my friend beside me while I ventured into a new phase of my life.
