The Alpha's Stripper Mate: Sold To Be His.
Chapter 83
CHAPTER 83: 83
NYLAH
Sofia was angry by the news. She looked like she was going to explode from anger at any minute.
"It’s almost like all the old man is good at doing is convincing the Alpha to do things he typically wouldn’t do." She voiced angrily.
"But you know that it is partially your fault, right?" I asked, and she arched her brow, gave me a funny expression with her hands spread out as if asking me "how?"
"I told you not to pick on him." I reminded her, and she rolled her eyes.
"Oh come on, everyone gets picked at in this pack. You got picked at, and I got picked at. Even the Alpha was picked at, at some point!" she paused and looked at me to see if I caught her last sentence, and I sure did.
She was loud enough that I couldn’t afford to miss it.
"The Alpha was picked on?" I asked, interested in what she mistakenly said out of anger.
"Yeah..." she nodded her head in a couple of bounces.
"Wait, what?" I asked, interested in what I just heard.
"Well, that was a long time ago when his parents were still alive. They treated Rex with more love than they did to Xavier since they were preparing him for the Alpha position, but it made him a loner."
"He was always on his own and was called weird a couple of times by pack members, and even his parents thought that he was not Male enough. But with time, it shaped him into the Alpha we all knew." Sofia finished, and I was wowed by the short story.
"So Alpha Xavier was picked on. Is that why he is fighting for the old man now?" I asked thoughtfully, but Sofia looked like she was going to rip the thoughtful expression off my face.
"Weren’t you picked on when you first came into the pack? Did he do anything to stop that? Have you forgotten so quickly that night at the bonfire? When you were drenched with wine like a fucking chicken and he just passed and told you not to create a scene."
"Now, he wants us to apologise publicly and make a mockery out of us." Sofia was not having it.
I wasn’t having it as well but I was trying to be calm about it.
I was more pissed about the fact that Xavier didn’t want to discuss it with me like an adult, instead, he treated the issue like an Alpha. He didn’t ask me what happened to hear the story from my own side and he acted cold about it.
"If the old man wants an apology, we would give him one and move on with our lives." I said playfully and nudged at Sofia but she didn’t return my smile. She wasn’t even smiling.
Her face was swollen out of anger and her cheeks had blushes on either side.
I slept in Sofia’s room that night and just like the Alpha said, we were woken up by some guards the next morning to take us to the centre of the pack and have us apologize to the old man who stood there feeling like a king who was going to be worshipped for the first time in his life.
Sofia scoffed but I nudged at her lightly.
She searched the mocking crowd who seemed pleased to see us humiliated by the guards and asked to apologise.
"For disrespecting and disregarding the pack’s advisor, the Alpha orders that you two apologise to him in front of the whole pack or face severe punishments. The advisor had been nice enough to ask only for an apology on the note that the next person who disrespect him would face the consequences that would, of course, be more than just an apology."
A guard read out the Alpha’s instructions and each word burnt through my chest.
I felt betrayed by the Alpha. Once again, he made me feel like all the nights I had spent with him were wasted nights. All the passionate sex we have had seemed like lies and deceits.
I swallowed back when I met the scornful gaze of the crowd. Some of them looked satisfied by what was happening while some looked confused. They knew that I was close with the Alpha so they were confused by what was going on.
I guess all Sofia could see was the mocking gazes because she was burning with anger.
"It’s fine. It’s just an apology. It’s not like they’re going to stone us to death or anything." I said through my teeth and I heard Sofia take in a deep breath and let it out in an exaggerating manner.
We both turned to the old man who was expressionless.
If he was enjoying the whole thing, we wouldn’t know because of his blank face.
"I am sorry for disrespecting you advisor." I spoke first and Sofia rolled her eyes.
"I’m sorry for disrespecting you too, advisor." She said as well and he studied us with a squint.
The guards still stood behind us, their gaze was on the man as if they were waiting for him to give them a confirmation that he heard the apology or they would make us apologise again.
He nodded and they stepped away from us a few inches backwards.
"Let this be a warning to others who think they can disrespect me for any reason! I am very important to the pack as is it and you can only imagine the disaster that would befall the pack if I am not here. The Alpha will deal with anyone who tries to bully or disrespect me and the punishment will be greater than this for sure." The old man saw the need to emphasize on what the guard initially said before we were forced to apologise.
The old man walked away and we were led back to our room.
"You both can return to your duties at the pack hospital." One of the guards who led us to the room informed us before walking away.
I was in no mood to go to work or do anything for the pack. Not after the humiliation I had been subjected to.
Thankfully, I wasn’t the only one who was feeling that way. Sofia laid in bed all day, cursing at the pack and the Alpha and I didn’t blame her. I too was cursing at him, only inwardly.
