CHAPTER 17: CHAPTER 17: CONRAD STERLING, DO YOU THINK I DON’T DARE?

Ethan was keeping watch in the parking lot, and as he inadvertently turned his head, he seemed to see President Sterling’s car swaying gently.

At first, he thought he was seeing things, but after observing for a while, he noticed the luxury car’s chassis was shaking more and more.

Thinking about how President Sterling and the beautiful lady had already been in the car for almost an hour, Ethan quickly turned his head, blushing, not daring to look in that direction anymore.

Speaking of which, given Conrad Sterling’s current level of busyness, Ethan, as an assistant, almost never saw him spend time alone with a woman for hours.

Even with Miss Marilyn, the time they spent together having dinner was just about the same.

Ethan had always thought President Sterling put all his energy into work. Although not much was devoted to relationships, at least there were no improper relationships around him.

But now it seems all successful men can’t escape the allure of ’indulgence’!

Inside the car, it was a mess—

Pieces of women’s clothing were scattered everywhere. Anna Thornton curled her body into a ball, wrapped her arms around her chest, but stretched her legs to press against the knees of the man beside her, expressing her determination to resist, barely preserving the two most important pieces of fabric on her.

Compared to her disheveled state, Conrad Sterling was fully dressed, still with that cold and inviolable stern face, making it hard to imagine he was the same man who had just forced a kiss and violence. This is the perfect depiction of the so-called ’a wolf in sheep’s clothing.’

The man snorted coldly, glancing at Anna Thornton with a mocking expression: "You look convincing enough to report me now."

Anna gritted her teeth and took a deep breath.

"Conrad Sterling, do you think I don’t dare?"

The man was just as despicable as he had been four years ago, but she was no longer the Anna Thornton of four years ago.

If a few hurtful words and the intimidation of violent undressing were enough to scare her into helplessness, she wouldn’t have had the courage to come back with the child or dare to face him again.

Under Conrad Sterling’s disdainful gaze, Anna Thornton suddenly let go of her arms around her chest. Her bra strap had been yanked loose and was slipping down her shoulder, yet she paid no heed, only tidying her messy hair, leaning her upper body forward in an incredibly seductive pose, flashing a radiant smile at the man. Then, she turned to open the rear car door, about to step out in her half-dressed state.

Almost the second Anna stepped out of the car, Ethan heard the sound of the car door opening and was about to turn his head.

As Conrad Sterling’s assistant, the feasibility of using him as a witness to accuse his boss of misconduct was small.

But no matter what, if Ethan turned his head now, he would definitely see the best view.

Yet, before this could happen, Conrad Sterling got out of the car from Anna’s side almost simultaneously with her. His tall figure perfectly blocked the surveillance camera’s view of Anna behind him.

Next, a large men’s suit jacket was draped over her, wrapping Anna tightly from shoulders to mid-thigh.

So when Ethan turned around, what he saw was the pretty lady wearing President Sterling’s coat being pushed back into the car by him.

Their eyes met, and he quickly averted his gaze awkwardly, turning around, futilely pretending he hadn’t seen anything.

His phone suddenly rang; it was a text message instruction from President Sterling, telling him to take a cab back to the company.

Immediately after, the sports car’s engine roared behind him, speeding out of the parking lot, leaving Ethan stiffened with a stiff back, afraid to turn even an inch.

Ethan: "..."

Although President Sterling didn’t mention it in the text, it surely carried the implication that he better keep his mouth shut.

Ethan couldn’t help but think to himself, President Sterling is truly impressive.

A normal young man, how is one hour enough?

...

That night, Conrad Sterling’s luxury car once again stopped at a mid-range community, incongruous with its own price level.

Anna Thornton got out from the back seat, tightened the men’s coat on her, and went around to the driver’s side to knock on the window.

The window rolled down, revealing half of Conrad Sterling’s stern profile.

"President Sterling, don’t you think people will have all sorts of ideas seeing us spend an entire afternoon alone, and me still wearing your clothes?" Anna Thornton asked him.

"Are you reminding me that I should strip you bare? Best leave you too embarrassed to show your face and no chance to talk back in front of me."

"Go ahead and strip me! If I really go home naked, I’ll surely scare Pop out of her wits."

"A child who suddenly appears, do you think I would care?"

"Of course not, I’ve been back for four days with Pop, and you haven’t asked about her once. I’ve seen your dishonesty four years ago, and now President Sterling, you have once again refreshed my understanding of being cold-blooded and ruthless. However, I would prefer to think that you still have doubts about me, or perhaps the paternity test you secretly had done has yet to yield results... After all, Pop has high expectations for a father who’s never fulfilled his paternal duties, and I don’t want to disappoint the child."

Conrad Sterling watched the woman through the half-lowered car window.

Her smile was both beautiful and provocative, incredibly arrogant, it seems that the drama from earlier in the car indeed didn’t frighten her.

But when she said the last sentence, Anna Thornton’s expression darkened slightly, her tone deepening with utmost seriousness.

As if truly for the sake of her child, she’d go to any lengths.

But to say she has no other motives, coming back to entangle with Conrad Sterling with earnest intent only to marry him?

Who would believe that!
