The Amazing Strike Back: Mommy Wants To Revenge!
Chapter 62: Conrad Sterling’s New Hairstyle
CHAPTER 62: CHAPTER 62: CONRAD STERLING’S NEW HAIRSTYLE
Anna Thornton and Mary still haven’t come to a conclusion over who will accompany Pop to get a haircut.
Suddenly, the ward door was pushed open from the outside. Mary thought it was medical staff coming to administer an IV to Pop. But as she got up instinctively to move aside, she saw it was Conrad Sterling who walked in.
"Mu...Mu...President Sterling?"
The reason Mary suddenly stuttered was that she couldn’t quite believe her eyes.
If she had glasses, she would definitely be wiping them right now, but today she was wearing contacts!
"Anna, help me take a look. Am I seeing things? Is that still President Sterling?"
Mary turned to Anna Thornton for help; the latter was just as surprised.
However, Anna didn’t doubt herself; she doubted Conrad Sterling: "Why are you here? Your brain... oh wait, your hair?"
Anna raised her gaze, focusing on Conrad Sterling’s head.
Having not seen him for a week, when did this man change his hairstyle?
And such a trendy... buzz cut!
Not just Mary, even Anna had trouble recognizing him. Is this really the same ice-cold-faced Conrad Sterling? How did the domineering CEO turn into a stylish man?
Clearly, the ice never fails to appear, even if late.
Conrad Sterling didn’t answer Anna’s question; instead, he glanced at the ’still in seclusion’ little darling and asked, "Has she not eaten all day?"
Not just not eaten, Pop was simply ignoring everyone.
Even though Conrad Sterling came in, the little one merely wanted to find a blanket to hide under, refusing to turn around and look.
"Ah!" Anna Thornton sighed deeply, feeling both helpless and drained, "It’s all because of her hair..."
Just about to mention the hair, Anna looked up and caught Conrad Sterling’s eye.
Then she glanced at President Sterling’s suddenly changed hairstyle and seemed to understand something...
How did he know Pop hasn’t eaten all day, right after getting to the hospital?
Could Conrad’s new haircut be because of the little darling?
Anna couldn’t help but think in this direction but found it hard to believe. This man’s persisting bad attitude, never caring about her and her daughter, could he really do such a thing for the child?
This action, a little silly but also warm, seems completely unrelated to President Sterling’s cold-hearted persona!
Regardless of what’s behind his new hairstyle, Anna firmly held the little darling, using the present model to persuade, "Pop, you’re not the only one with no hair! This year’s very trendy for shaved hair, just look at Dad!"
The little darling struggled in her arms, and when turned around, her little mouth was pouted so much you could hang a bottle of soy sauce on it.
But seeing Conrad Sterling, Pop’s little mouth gradually went back to normal.
"As long as you look good, you don’t need much hair. See, after Dad cut his hair short, isn’t he even more handsome than before?" Anna continued brainwashing the little darling.
To say the least, Conrad’s current hairstyle was quite strikingly handsome.
Typically, men with buzz cuts really test the shape of their face and head; those with slight deviations don’t dare attempt it casually. Rarely does one see someone pairing a buzz cut with a suit so aptly. It’s not limited to face and head shape, but a tall, well-built physique carries this look of restraint and wildness, overflowing with hormones.
Conrad’s face indeed doesn’t need any hairstyle enhancements; his features are so poised that women are envious, and now even Anna finds him much easier on the eyes.
The little darling was also mesmerized, staring wide-eyed like black grape eyes fixed on her dad, mouth open in a small ’o’, forgetting she was still angry.
"Pop, is Daddy’s new hairstyle handsome?" Anna asked.
The little darling truthfully pinched her tiny hands and answered, "Handsome."
"Do you like it?"
"Li..."
The little darling only answered with one word, sensing the ’road ahead’ might have a trap laid by mommy, pursed her lips and stayed silent.
Anna didn’t push her, observing the little one playing with her hands, the two small pudgy hands fidgeting together, seemingly in a fierce internal struggle.
At that moment, Conrad straightforwardly walked over and directly took the child from Anna’s arms.
When Pop was picked up, she raised her little arm to touch Daddy’s head.
Conrad didn’t stop her, letting her touch.
The man’s coarse, stiff hair roots were quite prickly, especially on a child’s soft hand. When Pop got pricked, she instantly withdrew her hand, but couldn’t resist wanting to touch again.
She also touched her own smooth, bald head, noting the difference.
"After some time, your hair will grow out and be similar to mine," Conrad explained, "But you need to eat more, eat well to have the energy to grow hair."
The little darling nodded, indicating she understood.
Who would’ve thought?
This time, the one who managed to persuade Pop to finally start eating was Conrad.
Anna and Mary exchanged glances, finding the scene quite magical.
But looking at the big buzz cut holding the little bald head’s silhouette, who can resist? It’s too cute.
Even the medical staff bringing dinner in couldn’t help but show a loving smile, and before leaving the ward, looked at Conrad several times with starry eyes.
Seems like President Sterling’s new hairstyle was quite a success; his charm level has risen.
After feeding Pop, Anna and Mary went for their own meal.
Conrad couldn’t eat because starting today he had to stay in the hospital, preparing for blood tests.
The man’s ward was right next to Pop’s, and after finishing her meal, Anna specially went to visit. Even hospitalized, President Sterling was holding his laptop. Having just finished his blood test, he was busy with work.
Anna walked in without needing invitation, finding a place to sit herself: "When did you cut your hair? Does Marilyn Ford know?"
Conrad turned his head, noticing Anna was sitting on his bedside, frowned: "None of your business!"
Anna pouted; could it be this man was still mad at her?
Really amusing, clearly it was Conrad who did wrong before; now Anna wasn’t even bothered by his lack of credibility, yet he dared to give others a foul face?
Tch, who’s bothering with you!
Anna thought to herself, stood up with disinterest, ready to leave.
The man’s voice suddenly sounded from behind: "The Ford Family is a century-old noble family in Aethelgard, generations of effort poured into it. It’s not hard for Marilyn Ford to find out something; her family’s influence indeed goes beyond your imagination."
Anna halted her steps, hearing Conrad’s words seemed to be an explanation for that day’s matter.
He was still insisting he hadn’t revealed Pop’s illness, and what Marilyn knew should be what she found out herself.
But if it’s just an explanation, what’s the implication behind the man’s words?
Beyond Anna’s imagination? Isn’t it just him mocking her for being ignorant!
