The Ancestor of All Demons
Chapter 41 - 041 Chi You Three Disks Scripture
CHAPTER 41: 041 CHI YOU THREE DISKS SCRIPTURE
Geng Peng explained to Han Guang Daoist, "The ’Chi You Three Disks Scripture’ is an artifact left by the ancient Chi You, who belonged to the Eastern Yi. He was adept at controlling all kinds of animals, fond of associating with beasts and birds. In former times, he contended with the Yellow Emperor, with seventy-two Demon Kings raising troops to aid him. The ’Three Disks Scripture’ has three parts; the portion my brother and I obtained is specifically for combat. It contains many ancient formations and cultivation methods for both humans and demons. Humans can become demons, and demons can become humans. One could chop off human arms and attach dragon claws, or even place a human head on the body of a tiger or leopard."
He talked to Han Guang Daoist as if they were chatting idly, but he was also narrating the origin of his family’s cultivation techniques to the Black Dragon at the table, namely Shi Feiyang.
By this time, Shi Feiyang was no longer in his palm but had plunged into a bowl of hot tea, which was scalding hot, yet he seemed to feel extremely comfortable in it. The tea was made using glacial water from three thousand six hundred feet beneath the ice, and the tea leaves were picked from Long Night Island.
Long Night Island was located at the North Pole, where for thousands of years, the sun was never seen. However, as yin reaches its extremity, yang is born; it fostered True Yang Qi and nurtured many strange flowers and exotic plants, birds and animals. Among them were these tea leaves, which had a unique and refreshing sweet fragrance.
Shi Feiyang didn’t drink his own bathwater, but he loved soaking in good water. He often recuperated in the spring water of Dinghu Peak in the past. Once he was in the sea, even though the ocean was boundless, the seawater was too dirty. Now, soaking in this hot tea, he felt supremely comfortable.
Geng Peng continued, "Indeed, the scriptures contain many powerful Magical Treasures and Spells, but most require the slaughter of a great number of people for sacrificial refinement. In the ancient, primordial times, when humans and beasts were at war, humans constantly killed demon beasts and invented many methods to refine Magical Treasures with the souls of Great Demons. Likewise, demons slaughtered humans and devised methods to use human Primordial Spirits to refine Magical Treasures. Often they would destroy entire cities, sacrificing a hundred thousand people to refine arrays. Most of the content recorded in this scripture is of this sort, so although its power is immense and boundless, one cannot really start practicing it."
After listening, Han Guang Daoist nodded, "I see, that makes things difficult... I’ve heard that the Demon Fox’s father, Elder Xue Xue, ascended to the Purple Mansion many years ago to manage secret scriptures for the Heavenly Emperor in Heaven, and he must have passed down quite a few Immortal Realm techniques to her..."
"The Magical Treasure that specifically restrains mine must have come down from the Upper Realm," Geng Peng said bitterly, "I need to rush back and discuss countermeasures with my older brother, and also figure out a Treasure to counter that Demon Fox."
Geng Peng stood up, taking Shi Feiyang with him to leave the cave, while Han Guang Daoist came out with Chi Chengzi to see them off.
After exchanging a few pleasantries, Geng Peng asked Shi Feiyang, "Are you still going to be carried by me, or will you fly yourself?"
Shi Feiyang, clinging to the edge of his thumb, glanced outward and said, "I fly too slowly by myself, so I won’t pretend otherwise."
Geng Peng laughed, and just as he opened his wings to take off with Shi Feiyang, he suddenly turned his head toward the Southwest direction.
Shi Feiyang also saw it by then. In the horizon amidst the ice clouds, three people were flying at high speed. Two of them were Lady Bao Xiang and Zhuge Jingwo, whom they had just dueled with, along with another woman in red. The three were wrapped in a red cloud resembling fire, moving with extraordinary speed, covering a distance of thousands of miles in an instant.
As the red cloud unfurled, the three stood atop it.
Shi Feiyang observed that the woman in red looked to be about thirty years old, with an alluring and vivacious appearance and spirited eyes. Her hair was half tied up with a golden hairpin, and the rest flew freely behind her shoulders. Her clothes seemed casual and relaxed.
Geng Peng didn’t recognize this woman and asked Lady Bao Xiang, "From where did you summon this reinforcement, you Demon Fox?"
Lady Bao Xiang cursed, "Pah, are you blind? She is my close friend from Guihua Mountain’s Fuxian Pond, Red Flower Grandmother. She was out at sea gathering herbs and happened to encounter me. Hearing of your vile behavior, she shares a common hatred for you and has come to take your wretched head!"
Red Flower Grandmother was a formidable Independent Immortal of the side path, who had always cultivated in the vast mountains of the Southwest of Central Earth, rarely venturing out.
Because Lingzhi of a thousand years, Polygonum multiflorum and Black Wind Grass, grew in the Fuxian Pond on Osmanthus Mountain, she occupied the area, opened a cave dwelling, and cultivated the Dao.
As a result, Master Changmei, the founding patriarch of the Emei Sect, came knocking on her door, accusing her of monopolizing the treasures of heaven and earth as private property, unwilling to share with the world, which was extremely domineering and tyrannical.
Red Flower Grandmother would not accept this and dueled with Master Changmei. Naturally, she could not best him, and all the prohibitions and arrays she had set up were broken. She had no choice but to reason with Master Changmei again, arguing that the treasures of heaven and earth should not be picked at will, otherwise they would have long since become extinct. They should be reserved for those with true fate and deep blessings to obtain.
She set conditions that only boys and girls with three lifetimes of innocence and innate roots could descend into the pond to take the grass. The pond was filled with poison stones and crocodiles, shrouded in a poisonous fog. Those who came also needed to possess the Wisdom Eye to see through the fog and the strength to defeat the divine crocodiles while avoiding the poison stones.
Master Changmei was satisfied and said, "In seventy years, a successor of my school will meet your conditions to take the grass. I hope that when the time comes, you will honor your oath today and not make it difficult by breaking the agreement."
Master Changmei could have broken through her pond’s spells and killed the demon crocodiles with ease at the time, but he did not need the Black Wind Grass then and could not take and transplant it to Emei Mountain. So he intentionally used her narrow-mindedness to guard it, waiting for his future descendants to need it, and the process of facing some setbacks would help them grow quickly.
As a result, Red Flower Grandmother harbored deep hatred for Master Changmei and the Emei Sect, but over time, as her cultivation grew deeper, she gradually understood she had many fates to face in the future, and with her own cultivation, it would be difficult to overcome them. On the other hand, if she relied on this bit of fate, the Emei Sect might help her escape disaster more smoothly... So as time passed, she gradually calmed the hatred and anger in her heart.
One day, she went out to sea to gather medicine and happened to encounter Lady Bao Xiang and Zhuge Jingwo in retreat after a defeat. Lady Bao Xiang was a very close friend of hers, and Red Flower Grandmother was also known as a "demoness," with very eccentric behaviors. Except for Master Changmei, who had subdued her, she did not take anyone else seriously.
Lady Bao Xiang dared not return to Central Earth with Zhuge Jingwo. She was hesitating whether to sneak away or to follow Zhuge Jingwo to Fishing Rock to confess her sins to Xuanzhenzi, when she encountered Red Flower Grandmother, knowing she was powerful in mana and had indeed refined several formidable magical treasures, so she invited her to help, to slay the Demon Dragon and Geng Peng, and to retrieve the thousand-year-old Purple River Grass.
Red Flower Grandmother thought it over and nodded in agreement, and the three of them pursued their quarry once more.
Lady Bao Xiang, this Demon Fox, had an extraordinary sense of smell. In a conscious state, she could detect scents from thousands of miles away with the wind. She casually grabbed a few strands of wind to chew in her mouth and could tell whether it was windy or raining or if the sun was shining brightly upstream. Along the way, she could tell whether there were seagulls circling or groups of whales drawing water. Coupled with Red Flower Grandmother’s ability to calculate, they quickly located where the Cold Light Taoist was.
The Cold Light Taoist spoke to persuade: "It is better to resolve enmities than to foster them. It has not been easy for everyone to cultivate for thousands of years, and one must not let years of hard work become futile due to a moment of anger and hatred..."
Lady Bao Xiang and Geng Peng, enemies upon sight, glared at each other with great animosity and didn’t listen to his words. One unleashed the Red Cloud Needle and the Rainbow Chain while the other flapped its wings and launched thirty-six Golden Divine Feather Arrows, clanging and clashing violently as they fought.
Zhuge Jingwo sought out the Black Dragon, and Shi Feiyang, who had been hidden at the root of Geng Peng’s wings, did not move until he saw Red Flower Grandmother release her flying sword, joining forces with Lady Bao Xiang to attack Geng Peng. He hurriedly flew down from Geng Peng’s body, grew in size, and transformed back into a ten-zhang-long Giant Dragon, spewing out two inner cores that turned into a Tai Chi Pattern to catch Red Flower Grandmother’s flying sword.
Zhuge Jingwo saw him reveal himself and also launched his Invisible Sword to join the attack.
Geng Peng, fearing he could not hold back, pointed his finger, separating twelve feathered arrows to attack Red Flower Grandmother. Red Flower Grandmother saw the formidable approach, launched her mountain treasure, the Bingling Shuttle, to meet the feathered arrows, and continued to use her Immortal Sword to assist Zhuge Jingwo in slashing at Shi Feiyang.
