The Ancestor of All Demons
Chapter 694 - 572 Li Jingxu’s Three Jade Boxes
CHAPTER 694: 572 LI JINGXU’S THREE JADE BOXES
Li Jingxu left behind three Jade Boxes, one for his disciple Qin Yu, one for the Emei Sect, and the last one for Shi Feiyang.
Qin Yu cried bitterly, sealed the Immortal Mansion, took the Jade Box, and went to Emei Mountain first to hand the second Jade Box to Li Yingqiong.
Master Miao Yi, Qi Shuming, had lost his physical body. After returning to the mountain, he passed the Sect Leader position to Li Yingqiong. He had already achieved the state of a Yang God and could have ascended to Heaven long ago.
Now that he had lost his physical body, he could still ascend without delay, but his ultimate achievement would drastically decrease.
He possessed the Taiyin Emperor Mansion’s Douluo True Edict. Although he could not become a Golden Immortal, once he became the leader of a group of immortals and helped Earth Immortals through the Great Tribulation, ascending to Heaven at that time would place him far above ordinary Heavenly Immortals. Having lost his physical body now, his current ascension would be considerably lesser, and to reach his previous level, he would have to go through another cycle of reincarnation.
He was also struggling at the moment, setting three strategies for himself: top, middle, and bottom.
The best strategy was to let go of all matters and ascend to Heaven directly, right now.
This was the safest option. Although after going up, he would fade into obscurity among the immortals, at least he would have secured his position as a Heavenly Immortal. From then on, he would be free from tribulations forever, enjoying eternal bliss in the Spiritual Space Immortal Realm.
However, he bore the great expectations Master Changmei had for him and shouldered the heaviest responsibility for the revival of the Mysterious Sect and the Emei Sect.
Ascending now was equivalent to deserting his post, not only betraying the fellow disciples and disciples from the Lower Realm of the Emei Sect, but also letting down those fellow Daoist who had pinned their hopes on him from the start. If he left now, even in Heaven, he would be truly ashamed to face his elders and his Master.
The worst strategy was to reincarnate immediately and start all over again, then strive for the highest position once more.
The reason this was considered the worst was that, according to his calculations, the numerous enemies of the Emei Sect would swarm in and try to kill him when he was most vulnerable. Chi You was definitely coming, and that might cause a great disaster, even possibly leading to a fall onto the Demon Path.
The middle strategy was to continue to stay in the Human World in his current Yang God form, help the Emei Sect, and everyone else survive the upcoming tribulations, and then ascend afterward.
This was the most assured option, but by the time he ascended after that, the ultimate position and achievements obtained would be the same as if he ascended now.
It would mean that despite exerting all his Heart Power, risking his life, and enduring numerous great twists and hardships—where he also faced narrow escapes from death—at last, he would receive the same rewards as if he had ascended immediately.
There would be no return for his efforts...
He summoned his fellow brothers and his Daoist companion Xun Lanyin to discuss together.
Some advised him to ascend directly, for staying any longer was meaningless for him.
Some advised him to reincarnate and aim for the Golden Immortal Position in the next life, asserting that they would go all out to protect him completely.
No one advised him to choose the middle strategy, but Qi Shuming ultimately did choose it.
He handed over the Sect Leader position to Li Yingqiong, along with the Taiyin Emperor Mansion’s Douluo True Edict, instructing Li Yingqiong to lead the Emei Sect and those fellow Daoists who trusted the sect through the future tribulations. As the Supreme Elder, he would support Li Yingqiong to get on the horse and still continue to accompany her on this journey.
A sense of tragic heroism permeated throughout the Emei Sect, and everyone was in low spirits.
Li Yingqiong received Qin Yu’s Jade Box and since it was specified for the Sect Leader of the Emei Sect, she opened it to look inside.
There were two Magical Treasures inside, gifts to Li Yingqiong from the Five Fortune Immortal, Sun Xun, and the Hundred Flowers Immortal, Ni Fangxian, along with two letters, one for Li Yingqiong and one for Qi Shuming.
Li Yingqiong opened the letter addressed to herself.
Li Jingxu already knew that she was now the Sect Leader, and therein, he wrote extensively about the responsibility of the Emei Sect Sect Leader, and the relationship between the Mysterious Sect and the Emei Sect.
The Mysterious Sect is the Daoist sect, and the Mysterious Sect’s orthodoxy is the Daoist orthodoxy. Being orthodox means carrying the responsibilities and obligations of an orthodoxy, such as maintaining the Daoist principles’ authoritative position, as well as upholding virtue and repelling evil, preventing demons from running rampant in the Human World, and so on.
Though not numerous, there are several sects within the Mysterious Sect’s orthodoxy, yet there can be only one leader of the Mysterious Sect.
Originally the Emei Sect should flourish, taking on the role of leading all immortals, and lead the Mysterious Sect, as well as those from other schools who have acted righteously.
The primary task was to help those who wished and were able to ascend to Heaven.
For example, as written in the book, after Emei Sect established itself, many sent their disciples to be taught by the sect because they knew their own teachings were not orthodox and they couldn’t ascend. They would have to be reincarnated again, but their disciples had excellent roots and talents, even stronger than their own, so they let their disciples ride on the coattails of the Emei Sect.
Next was to help everyone overcome their tribulations. In the book, Qi Shuming led many Emei Sect Elders to Xuning Island in the South Sea to assist a large number of Earth Immortals in overcoming their tribulations.
Then, lead everyone in slaying demons and evil spirits, maintaining the righteousness of Heaven and Earth. They could not let those Evil Demons do whatever they wished unhindered in the Human World.
Li Jingxu advised Li Yingqiong in the letter that as the Sect Leader of the Emei Sect and a disciple of Mysterious Sect’s orthodoxy, she should broaden her perspective and vision, not restricting herself within petty personal or sectarian grievances.
He also specifically enumerated the grievances between the Emei Sect and Shi Feiyang, where essentially the Emei Sect members were the ones provoking trouble and getting killed in retaliation. As an impartial mediator, he concluded that it was the Emei Sect’s fault for not being righteous and could not blame Shi Feiyang for their demise.
In the end, he urged Li Yingqiong to let go of grievances and cooperate with Shi Feiyang.
Originally the two great sects reconciled, but this time he was advising Li Yingqiong to work with Shi Feiyang.
He also spoke of how dangerous the future tribulations would be. Even when cooperating, both sides did not stand much chance, and too many would die. If they undermined each other with a facade of unity, there was a considerable risk that the Demon Path would defeat them one by one and in the end, everyone would perish. Even if they were victorious, the casualty rate would still be severe, and the entire Human World would turn into the Ghost Realm and a city of death.
At last, he told Li Yingqiong that she needed not only to cooperate with Shi Feiyang but also to unite with other righteous sects of the Mysterious Sect around Shi Feiyang.
Because only he could confront Chi You, everyone needed to exert their strength together in order to allow the Mysterious Sect to prosper and the positive energy of the Human World to remain forever!
After reading the letter, Li Yingqiong remained silent for a long time. She gathered the other core members—Er Ying, Er Yun, the senior brother Shen Tuhong, Ruan Zheng, Zhuge Jingwo, and others—to show them the letter and have everyone express their opinions.
They read the letter there, while Qi Shuming held the letter in his hands for a long time without being able to utter a word. He also gathered the other senior members, including Xun Lanyin, to take a look and come up with a decision together.
The main theme written in the letter Li Jingxu sent to him was simple: The Immortal Enterprise is of the utmost importance!
For cultivators, the most important thing in their lives is the Immortal Enterprise; whether they become a Golden Immortal, Heavenly Immortal, Earth Immortal, or Independent Immortal, the outcome would be different. Nothing was more important than this; one would cultivate to be the best they could be rather than settle for less!
All that remained, such as reputation, honor and disgrace, fame, and so on, were as transient as clouds.
To increase knowledge daily, to decrease worldly desires for the Dao daily.
To cultivate the Dao meant to discard all these external things completely to become free and unrestrained and to return to the original source of the Great Dao.
Li Jingxu advised him not to mind these external issues, to directly seek help from Shi Feiyang, and then to undergo reincarnation. Shi Feiyang’s help would ensure he could safely get through the most dangerous period following reincarnation. In the next life, he should strive to cultivate to become a Golden Immortal; even if not a Golden Immortal, he must not be worse off than he currently was. This indeed was the best strategy!
After all six of them finished reading, they were all left speechless. Whether it was Qi Shuming, the person concerned, or the other five, they did not know what to say, as it seemed inappropriate to say anything.
...
Meanwhile, Qin Yu had already arrived at Yellow Mountain and handed over the third Jade Box left by Li Jingxu to Shi Feiyang.
Shi Feiyang opened the box, which contained a letter and two bottles, one silver and one jade.
The letter also talked about the significance of the righteous sects of the Mysterious Sect and asked Shi Feiyang to broaden his horizons and take up the responsibility of a Mysterious Sect leader, accepting the Emei Sect.
In addition, it specifically mentioned some past events regarding Chi You and Deng Yin as well as some major future events that had been predicted.
The last part was about the two bottles.
The silver bottle was a Heavenly Treasure that had fallen from the Taixu Immortal Mansion into the Human World. It originally contained the Taiyin True Liquid, a condensation of moonlight.
More than a thousand years ago, when Li Jingxu obtained this treasure, he used it as the Treasure of the Cave.
Later, he and Master Changmei studied it together and finally understood that this substance was a Divine Water formed by the condensation of moonlight, which could not be refined by collecting moonlight with Magic in the Human World. It had to be done in the Spiritual Space Immortal Realm, within the vastness of heaven and earth, drawing moonlight into the Nine Heavens Spiritual Energy, allowing it to gradually transform, taking a thousand years to produce a single drop.
Apart from this Divine Water formed by moonlight or Taiyin True Liquid, there were also True Liquids of sunlight and starlight formed under other conditions.
Combining them all could refine the Three Lights Divine Water, which could specifically counter Shi Feiyang’s Purple and Blue Duoluo Fire!
It was impossible for the three types of True Liquid to form in the Human World, but coincidentally, all of them had some presence in the Human World.
The Silver Bottle that Li Jingxu initially obtained contained the Taiyin True Liquid, whereas Master Changmei at the Spiritual Jade Peak got hold of the Sun True Liquid.
The Spiritual Jade Peak was another Heavenly Treasure shaped like a small mountain bonsai with Yin Yang polar magnetic Evil Qi, which specifically countered the Purple and Blue Double Swords. Later, Tian Dou’s ancestor Ming He removed the Evil Qi and infused it into the Purple and Blue Double Swords, making them no longer restrained by magnetic and Evil Qi.
He also received enlightenment from an Array there, and Master Changmei worked out the Liangyi Six Harmonies Microdust Formation from the Array.
Furthermore, beneath the little mountain was a small lake containing a pool of clear water, which was the Sun True Liquid.
After penetrating these deep secrets, Master Changmei did not hesitate to take out the Sun True Liquid and give it to Li Jingxu.
Li Jingxu combined the two types of True Liquid into "Two Light Divine Water," and for over a thousand years used it for demon-suppressing and path-refining with unfailing success. He also gained enlightenment into the mysteries of Yin Yang Union, which played no small part in his later Body Ascension and the cultivation of a Golden Immortal Position.
Li Jingxu had always been searching for the third type of True Liquid formed by the condensation of stars but never found it until three hundred years ago. Finally, he came to know that this substance was in the hands of the Fairy Leng Yun of the Cold Clouds at the East Sea’s Little Penglai, Yu Wa.
Yu Wa had obtained two Heavenly Treasures: a pair of Ruyi Golden Hooks and a White Jade Water Bowl—the latter containing the Starlight Divine Liquid.
Li Jingxu thought that since he was already invincible in the world, there was no need to seek more Magical Treasures to bolster his strength. Moreover, he had already achieved the level of a Golden Immortal; if it were not for waiting for his two loved ones, he could have directly achieved Body Ascension and Ascended.
However, Yu Wa regarded those two Heavenly Treasures as the treasures of her island, valuing them more than life itself. It wouldn’t have been difficult for Li Jingxu to forcefully take them, but that would only create unnecessary complications and might even endanger her life, which seemed pointless.
Therefore, Li Jingxu had not taken them.
Now, he handed over the Silver Bottle along with the "Two Light Divine Water" inside it to Shi Feiyang, telling him he must find a way to obtain Yu Wa’s Starlight True Liquid as soon as possible. Because this substance could counter the Purple and Blue Douluo Fire, the Three Lights Divine Water could completely restrain it, the Two Lights Divine Water could forcibly suppress it, and even One Light Divine Water could significantly diminish its fire.
If Shi Feiyang did not retrieve it, Chi You would definitely go for it. When used with Demon Magic and employed unexpectedly in a duel, it could extinguish Shi Feiyang’s Five Fortune Immortals and cause his Dao Level to plummet!
When Shi Feiyang read this part in the letter, he was also greatly surprised, not expecting such a thing in the world that could specifically counter the Purple and Blue Divine Flames. Fortunately, two out of the three were in Li Jingxu’s possession and now were all passed on to him.
It was good that he had been warned beforehand, so he could prepare early. Otherwise, if Chi You obtained it first and suddenly used it, even if Shi Feiyang wouldn’t have his Dao Level plummet, he would certainly suffer a severe loss of Primordial Qi.
