CHAPTER 201: CHAPTER 201: CHEERS, PARTNER

"But... hasn’t Chairman Xu been coming to the restaurant every day just to see you these past few days?"

"No, he’s just here for the free food."

Dong Chujun wanted to ask more, but before he could, Qin Muni redirected his attention, "It’s about time. Let’s get off work and gather our energy for tomorrow’s ribbon-cutting ceremony."

"Okay, see you tomorrow then, boss."

The restaurant staff all clocked out one after another. Qin Muni, feeling a bit bored, prepared some snacks, heated a pot of wine, and sat at the bar for a small drink.

Midway through her pot of wine, she heard light footsteps approaching, followed by a gentle teasing voice, "No wonder I couldn’t find you. So you’re hiding here drinking."

"Why are you here?"

"As a partner, naturally, I’m here to have a celebratory drink with you."

Xu Yisen walked around the bar, grabbed a glass, and then took a seat next to Qin Muni on the outside of the bar.

Qin Muni picked up the wine pot and poured wine into his glass, raising her own glass slightly.

Perhaps it was the alcohol, but her captivating eyes took on a dreamlike allure, each smile and frown exuding charm.

She chuckled softly and spoke with a gentle tone, "Cheers to us, partner."

Xu Yisen raised his glass and lightly clinked it against hers, "To a prosperous business."

"Hmm."

After drinking, Qin Muni suddenly asked, "I heard you bought thirty thousand magazines?"

"Hmm."

"Next time, if you have too much money and don’t know where to spend it, just transfer it or give me cash."

Her words carried a hint of displeasure at Xu Yisen’s actions. While such grand gestures of affection seem touching, they are actually quite childish.

Affection is a matter for two people, a private affair. Displaying it openly to everyone comes off as a bit showy.

How could Xu Yisen not catch the meaning behind Qin Muni’s words? He nodded, as if taking a lesson, "Alright, I’ll make sure to be more mindful next time."

Qin Muni poured the remaining wine from the pot into Xu Yisen’s glass, got up to heat another pot of wine.

She sat back down next to Xu Yisen, her unfocused eyes fixed on the various bottles arranged on the bar counter in front of them, "Yisen."

"Hmm?" Xu Yisen tilted his head to look at her, his expression as gentle as flowing water.

Qin Muni rested her chin on one hand and slowly turned her head to look at Xu Yisen. Her beautiful eyes were as clear as a stream, with a hint of doubt as she asked, "What do you like about me?"

"What do I like about you?" Xu Yisen softly repeated her question, gazing into her eyes filled with a tenderness he hadn’t even realized, a tenderness that radiated effortlessly and unembellished.

He continued, "I like your straightforwardness, generosity, your courage to love and hate. Your gentleness, attentiveness, and thoughtfulness. Your... all your strengths, even those you consider flaws, seem irresistibly charming to me."

Then, as if recollecting something, he added, "Ah, right! I also like..."

He paused slightly, his gaze fixed on Qin Muni’s enchanting eyes, which were so captivating they made one’s heart itch.

"I also like your eyes, how focused and genuinely adorable they look when they gaze at me."

All his compliments were sincerely spoken, clearly not just to appease Qin Muni, but out of genuine affection for her.

"Heh." Qin Muni snorted lightly, withdrawing her gaze from Xu Yisen to look ahead again, her tone steady as she said, "Seems like being in the middle of it makes things unclear, while others see it clearly. Looks like I have quite a few good points after all."
