The Battle in Journey to the West
Chapter 166 - 166 163 Sword Leading Immortal Flight Destroys
Chapter 166: Chapter 163: Sword Leading Immortal Flight Destroys Jiuying Chapter 166: Chapter 163: Sword Leading Immortal Flight Destroys Jiuying The seven brothers arrived at the Green Hill Secret Realm for a grand battle against Jiuying. This battle was extremely intense, lasting for three days and three nights. During these three days, Enlightenment Dao had split into nine Sword Shadow Clones, continuously gathering strength, and now, it was finally time to unleash the most powerful final move!
Nine is the ultimate number of Heavenly Dao, and the ferocity of Jiuying was extraordinary; all his nine heads had to be struck simultaneously to eliminate him. In the past, even Hou Yi almost got killed by him. If it weren’t for his excellent archery, firing the Nine Stars Consecutive Beads, it would likely have been his demise.
After battling for three days, each of the seven brothers was a battle-hardened Giant Demon Fiend, but they still could not defeat Jiuying, whose power had been mostly sealed by Hou Yi’s Sun-Shooting Arrows. You can imagine how formidable Jiuying was!
The nine Sword Shadow Clones of Enlightenment Dao executed Song Lun’s ultimate Swordsmanship Technique, Sword Leading Immortal Flight, even drawing Heavenly Thunder to amplify the power of the sword moves. This action was truly earth-shattering! Sword practitioners possess sharpness indeed! All sword cultivators prefer offense over defense. Once a sword is thrust, heaven and earth grow dim, and the sun and moon lose their luster. They value bravery and continuous improvement, preferring to break rather than bend. Among all cultivators, sword cultivators possess the most terrifying offensive power.
Jiuying felt a wave of terror, as if he saw the figure of Hou Yi drawing his bow and aiming his arrows, shuddering all over. Under that Sword Dao’s sharpest edge, he had no way to move, utterly terrified.
The Sword Dao Will enveloped Jiuying, making him shiver, instilling fear, as his eighteen eyes fixated on the nine Sword Shadow Clones in the sky.
“Kill!” The nine Sword Shadow Clones shouted in unison, with lightning gathering on their Golden Swords, transforming into immortals, and charging down with swords in hand.
This technique, the ultimate skill of the Ancestral Master of Mount Shu Swordsmanship, was performed so thoroughly that even if Song Lun were resurrected, he would probably be extremely gratified. If the disciples of Mount Shu saw this, they would surely feel ashamed, as an outsider had mastered their sect’s ultimate skill to such an extent.
“Swoosh!”
A sharp sound resonated as if the nine sword lights had torn through the very fabric of heaven and earth. Everything dimmed, seemingly growing dark, but in reality, it was because those nine sword lights were blindingly bright!
Jiuying let out cries of pain as the nine sword lights crisscrossed, slashing him all over with sword marks. He originally thought Enlightenment Dao was the weakest among them, as he always hid behind during the seven’s combined attack. However, he didn’t realize that this was a ploy to gather Sword Shadow Clones and amass power for the ultimate move!
“Puff puff puff…!!!”
A series of dull thuds sounded like ripping silk. Sword Qi roared and sword lights danced, dazzling onlookers.
Enlightenment Dao formed a spell with his hands and lightly shouted, pointing at Jiuying with finger as if a sword, exclaiming, “Burst!”
The nine Sword Shadow Clones exploded with a boom, and Jiuying’s nine heads were simultaneously severed by the massive Sword Qi, shooting skyward, his physical body also blown apart.
However, the moment his body exploded, a person fell out from within, who also turned and fled with nine heads.
“Aiyah! I forgot! After Hou Yi killed Jiuying once, he went from dragon to snake, and if killed again, likely from snake to insect. Now that he has been defeated by Seventh Brother, he has turned into a Nine-Headed Worm. Quickly, don’t let him escape!” shouted the Macaques King, rushing forward first.
The Exorcising Great Saint Yu Rong King’s Escape Technique was much more formidable, instantly moving ahead with three Exorcism Hoops shining brightly. He shook them and, casting them into the air, they snugly ensnared the Nine-Headed Worm. Caught squarely, the Nine-Headed Worm cried out miserably, tumbling to the ground, unable to rise.
“Haha! Who knew you had the skill to shed your skin like a Golden Cicada,” Yu Rong King cursed. “But let’s see if your Escape Technique is faster, or if Grandpa’s is quicker?”
Now devoid of prestige, the Nine-Headed Worm said, “Naturally, Grandpa is quicker. Please spare my life, Grandpa, and I will serve you as your ox and horse.”
Yu Rong King looked perplexed and said, “You might as well go be an ox, but don’t come be my ox and horse!”
Ox Demon King, hearing this from behind, immediately got so furious that he wanted to explode. This Sixth Brother was making fun of Big Brother again.
Ox Demon King scolded, “Why don’t you make him your Child Servant? With his nine heads, he’ll keep you entertained for sure!”
Yu Rong King shivered, giving an awkward laugh, “Brother, don’t talk nonsense. Seeing this thing makes me want to vomit last night’s dinner.”
Hu Li had been waiting impatiently on the outside. Seeing the seven working together to slay the Yamata no Orochi, and now with Yu Rong King capturing the Nine-Headed Worm, she couldn’t help but be overjoyed as she drove the Bishui Golden-eyed Beast into the Green Hill Secret Realm.
The Macaque King scratched his ears and cheeks, stepped forward for a close look, and saw that although Jiuying had removed the seal, this narrow escape had drastically reduced his mana. He was now no more than a Daluo Golden Immortal of the First Heaven. Even in a one-on-one fight, there were plenty among the brothers who could subdue him now.
Enlightenment Dao found the Sun-Shooting Arrow amidst the blasted flesh of Jiuying. It was a feathered arrow, with feathers from the Golden Crow and an arrowhead forged from the finest cold iron, intricately inscribed with symbols of the Witch Clan. Its brilliance shifted, stained with the blood of the Golden Crow.
The Golden Crow itself was a creature blessed by the heavens, naturally born with three legs, embodying the saying “Three Gives Birth to All Things,” and it possessed innate divine fire, incredibly potent. No wonder Demon Emperor Taiyi was able to dominate the universe and contend with the Twelve Demon Gods. Their might was beyond ordinary estimation.
Enlightenment Dao took the arrow. It was no ordinary object, but an incomparably powerful Magical Treasure that had shot and killed nine Golden Crow princes.
“Ha! Seventh Brother, you sure know how to strike it rich without a sound,” Peng Demon King approached and couldn’t help but laugh upon seeing Enlightenment Dao take the Sun-Shooting Arrow.
“None of you were willing to search through the rotten flesh, so how can you blame me?” Enlightenment Dao formed a sword with his fingers, and with a gentle tap, a ray of True Fire burst forth, burning the lump of Jiuying’s rotten flesh into ashes in an instant.
Peng Demon King said, “Sixth Brother has captured that guy, let’s go over and take a look.”
Hu Li watched through gritted teeth, tears swirling in her eyes and her eyes bloodshot, as Nine-Headed Insect was bound by the Exorcism Hoops. This was the culprit who had murdered her Green Hill Fox Demon kin. Now bound before her, the opportunity for revenge was as simple as a mere raising and falling of a blade.
The Macaque King bared his teeth in a sinister smile, “Sister Hu Li, Sixth Brother has already captured this villain for you. Whether you want to kill or flay him, it’s entirely up to you!”
Unable to hold back, Hu Li cursed, “You beast! You killed the people of my Green Hills Country, forced me to flee to the Four Great Continents, where I encountered that vile Monk, the Delighted Buddha of Fixed Light, and nearly lost my purity. Thankfully, Big Brother Bull arrived in time and killed him! We had no previous grudges, but since you murdered my kin, this vengeance must be avenged!”
A short blade, about two feet long, appeared in Hu Li’s hand, its cold light flashing, poised to slice through Nine-Headed Insect.
The Macaque King’s ears twitched suddenly, hearing two other voices conversing.
“Oh no, not good! It turns out the Delighted Buddha of Fixed Light has been slain by the Ox Demon King. Where shall we find that Method now?”
“Could it be in the hands of the Ox Demon King? Why don’t we take the opportunity to kill the Ox Demon King and try the Soul Searching Technique?”
“With all these Giant Demon Fiends around, how can you even think of laying hands on the Ox Demon King?”
“We just have to wait for him to be alone and then strike him with a surprise blow!”
“Good, we’ll follow in secret and seize the opportunity to kill him when it comes.”
Known as the Ventilating Sage, the Macaque King naturally had ears that could catch the wind, extremely sensitive. Vairocana Buddha and Non-Empty Attainment Buddha had arrived at some point and were whisperedly conversing in secret, but the Macaque King heard them loud and clear. If it were someone more scheming, they might have directly set a trap for these two to fall into. However, the Macaque King, being of explosive temperament, became furious as soon as he realized that someone was hiding nearby.
The Macaque King roared in anger, “You rodents, daring to hide before me! Truly courting death!”
The Macaque King leaped high into the air and charged toward where the two were hiding. His great sword came down on them furiously, blade first.
Vairocana Buddha and Non-Empty Attainment Buddha were startled, not expecting their deep concealment to be discovered. Caught off guard and without time to summon their Magical Treasures or employ Divine Skills for defense, both rolled on the ground to dodge, rolling like a lazy donkey to the side, revealing their forms.
The Great Demon Kings grew furious, realizing there were hidden assailants looking for a chance to strike. They encircled the two Buddhas with murderous intent, trapping them in the middle.
“I was wondering who it was, turns out it’s more bald monks from the Buddhist sect on a suicide mission!” declared the Ox Demon King nonchalantly. He had just killed one monk, and now two more had delivered themselves to him.
One Vairocana Buddha, one Non-Empty Attainment Buddha.
The two Buddhas couldn’t help but bemoan their luck internally, not having anticipated the Macaque King’s prowess in uncovering their presence so quickly. Now surrounded by this group of Great Demons, escape seemed impossible. Hadn’t the Ancient Fierce Beast Jiuying, formidable as it was, been slain by them? Even transformed into Nine-Headed Insect, it was still captured by the Yu Rong King with the Exorcism Hoops.
As for what became of the two Buddhas, please listen to the next part of the story.
