CHAPTER 156: CHAPTER 157: IMITATIONS ARE IMITATIONS

"Sixth Master, don’t..."

Adrian Desmond began to undress the woman. She seemed both fearful and secretly pleased. After a few feeble attempts to resist, she let him have his way.

In her moment of passion, she failed to notice the darkness and mockery in Adrian’s eyes.

The woman was quickly stripped naked. Adrian’s gaze swept over her body inch by inch, devoid of lust, filled only with scrutiny and exploration.

He had been intimate with Sienna Johnson so many times that he was more familiar with her body than she was herself.

His large hand slowly caressed the woman’s body. It only took a few strokes for her to become aroused, and mockery flashed in Adrian’s eyes.

"Sixth Master, mmmh..."

The woman’s body was sensitive, trembling lightly. Adrian’s fingers slid along the inside of her thigh, and her slender legs clamped around his hand. "No..."

His hand gently grazed her inner thigh, and she couldn’t bear it after just a few teasing strokes.

Adrian’s eyes locked onto her face, a flicker of a memory crossing his mind. When Sienna Johnson was in the throes of passion, she would emit a very faint fragrance. If his sense of smell hadn’t been so keen, he would never have been able to detect it. This woman, however, had no such scent.

Fake!

He had searched for so long, waited for so long, only to find an imposter!

Who had given this woman the audacity to try and deceive him?

Had he become a target because he’d spent the last year doing good deeds to accumulate blessings, following that old monk’s advice, all to find Sienna Johnson? Did they think he was an easy mark?

"Sixth Master, it hurts!"

Adrian withdrew his hand, stood up, and looked coldly at the woman before him. "Who are you, really?"

"I... I am Mai."

"I don’t know who you are, but you are definitely not Mai!" he declared confidently.

The blush faded from her face, and her eyes filled with unease as she looked at Adrian. "But they said I look like her..."

Adrian scoffed, his gaze falling on her face once more. "My woman is one of a kind. The fact that you look exactly like her disgusts me." He paused, then added, "That face shouldn’t be yours!"

"Walter!" Adrian called loudly.

Walter Klein ran upstairs. Seeing the naked woman, he quickly looked down, not daring to stare. If this woman were truly Sixth Master’s, Adrian might gouge Walter’s eyes out.

"Go find Little Ninth," Adrian said. "Ask him for some sulfuric acid or something similar to destroy this face. I don’t like this face on her."

Even knowing she was an imposter, the thought of other men seeing this woman in her aroused state made Adrian uncomfortable.

"Huh?" Walter was slow to react.

Adrian said angrily, "Walter, you’re becoming more and more useless, trying to fool me with an imposter! If you dare pull such a stupid stunt again, get out!"

Walter looked at the woman, unable to discern any difference in their appearances. If it were up to him, he would have said the woman before him was Mai.

"Sixth Master, she has amnesia, so she can’t remember many things. Why don’t you keep her around for a while and see if you can learn more? At the very least, we need to find out where the Young Master is."

His son was Adrian’s sore spot. To make matters worse, Owen Hunter loved to show off his son. Seeing Owen with his wife and son, all happy, made Adrian feel even more desolate.

If his son had been born, he would be seven months old now.

Owen’s son could already roll over at seven months. His son was so intelligent; he would surely be running and calling out ’Mama’ and ’Papa’ by now.

Mai! If I don’t find you and give you a good thrashing, I’ll take your surname!

"Sixth Master, are you listening?"

Adrian glared at Walter and gritted his teeth. "She’s not Mai at all! How could she know where my son is?"

"I am!" The woman grabbed a piece of clothing to cover her upper body and couldn’t help but interrupt.

Adrian snorted coldly. "What? Done pretending to have amnesia? Do you think I can’t tell if you’re her or not just because you feign memory loss? Do you take me for an idiot?!"

Adrian had faced many opponents in his life, but he had only ever been bested by Sienna Johnson, and more than once at that.

"...I think I know you," the woman said softly.

"What are you still standing there for? Go find Little Ninth and destroy this unsightly face for me! From now on, any woman who resembles Mai will meet the same fate!" Adrian commanded ruthlessly.

Seeing that Adrian was about to leave, the woman knew he wasn’t joking; he really would ruin her looks. In a panic, she rolled off the sofa and hugged his leg. "...Sixth Master, please spare me. I’ll have surgery to change my face back. I won’t look like Madam anymore."

Adrian kicked the woman off his leg. "So, you had plastic surgery. No wonder the resemblance is so striking."

Walter, standing nearby, was also taken aback. He had been wondering how two people could look so alike; it turned out to be surgery.

"Sixth Master, please forgive me. I’ll never do it again."

The woman sobbed uncontrollably, and Adrian frowned at her face.

It was the exact same face. Why was it that when Sienna Johnson cried, his heart ached, but when this woman with the same face cried, he only felt irritation?

He had fallen for Sienna Johnson at first sight, undoubtedly because of her face; he’d never seen a woman so beautiful. But now, it seemed it wasn’t just about the face. Otherwise, why wasn’t he moved by this woman?

"What made you decide to impersonate Mai?"

Adrian had rarely allowed Sienna Johnson out. Later, when he was about to marry Melanie Carpenter, he felt guilty towards Sienna Johnson, so when she wanted to go out shopping to relax, he let her. Could it be that this imposter saw Sienna Johnson’s face then and had cosmetic surgery to look like Mai?

But how did this woman know Mai was the person he was searching for, and even concoct this amnesia act?

Adrian stared at her face and asked probingly, "...Not destroying your face is a possibility, but..."

"But what?" The woman looked at him with fear, her gaze fixed on him as if he held the power of life and death over her.

"You’d have to tell me everything you know."

"Tell you what?"

Adrian smiled and asked ambiguously, "What do you think?"

The woman lowered her head and said nothing. Adrian ordered, "Walter, investigate this woman’s background. I want to know everything about her!"

"Yes, sir!"

Walter, having messed up earlier, didn’t dare delay and immediately went to carry out Adrian’s orders.

Upon hearing this, the woman panicked and said frantically, "Sixth Master, I’ll talk! I’ll tell you everything! Will you let me go?"
