Chapter 80 - 080: Women Fighting
CHAPTER 80: CHAPTER 080: WOMEN FIGHTING
"Miss Carpenter? How did you get here?" Sienna Johnson instinctively placed her hand on her flat belly. She suddenly realized why she had fainted. "My baby? ..."
Melanie Carpenter knew what she was worried about. She held Sienna’s hand and said, "Mai, don’t worry, the baby is fine."
Sienna’s heart eased. Nothing was more important than the baby. Only if the baby was alright could she find the courage to face the upcoming challenges.
"As long as it’s okay, as long as it’s okay..." Knowing the child was unharmed, the turbulent emotions in Sienna’s eyes settled, and she regained her composure.
"Do you want some water?" Melanie asked.
Sienna felt as if smoke were rising in her throat; she desperately wanted a drink. But the water was offered by Melanie... Sienna looked up at the gentle-faced woman emanating an aura of peace. They are rivals.
"I’m carrying Adrian’s child."
"I know."
Melanie knew, yet she remained so calm and collected. If I were in her shoes, knowing Adrian had gotten another woman pregnant, I’d probably want to stab him in the heart.
"Aren’t you jealous?"
Melanie was pouring water for Sienna. Hearing her words, she paused for a moment, then continued pouring a glass of warm water. She approached Sienna to help her drink, but Sienna shook her head. "I’m not thirsty!"
Sienna still couldn’t trust Melanie. They are rivals. I don’t believe any woman in this world could be so magnanimous and tolerant towards her romantic competition.
In the city where I lived, primary wives and mistresses were as incompatible as fire and water. Stripping a mistress naked and parading her through the streets was considered mild. In extreme cases, the mistress wouldn’t just be disfigured; the adulterous couple would be killed.
Seeing Sienna didn’t want to drink, Melanie didn’t insist. She put the water back. "Mai, why have you always been so hostile towards me? I’ve thought about it, and I’ve never done anything to hurt you."
"Not yet..."
Melanie interjected, "And I never will."
Sienna didn’t believe her. "We are rivals!"
"We are both Sixth Brother’s women. We are sisters. I am Sister, and I will take care of you, including the child you will eventually bear... You don’t need to be so guarded against me. Your child is also my child!"
Those words thoroughly enraged Sienna. She shouted at Melanie, "Shut up! My child is mine! It will never be yours!"
What does she mean by that? The child in my belly is mine, Sienna Johnson’s! How could it possibly belong to this woman in front of me, even if she is Adrian’s fiancée? No one can take my child away from me, not even Adrian, its father!
"You can’t take my child from me! If you want a child, go have one yourself! My child—neither you nor that bastard Adrian will take my child from me!"
In the confusion, her hand accidentally knocked over a glass on the bedside table. The glass fell to the floor and shattered with a CRASH. Melanie bent down to pick up the fragments and cut her hand. Just then, Adrian arrived and witnessed the chaotic scene.
"Mai, what have you done?" Adrian strode over and helped Melanie, who was squatting on the ground, to her feet. Seeing blood on her fingers, he glared at Sienna and demanded, "What did you do to Melanie?"
"Sixth Brother, I’m fine. The glass fell, and I was trying to pick it up but accidentally cut my hand," Melanie explained.
"Let me see." Adrian held Melanie’s fingers, examining her wound with focused concentration. That look stung a nerve in Sienna.
"Adrian, don’t touch her! I said, don’t touch her!" Sienna was jealous! From the moment Adrian had entered the room, his first glance had been at Melanie, and Sienna couldn’t stand that neglect.
Sienna suddenly erupted.
"Mai, stop causing trouble," Adrian scolded.
"Adrian, tell her you won’t marry her! Tell her to get lost!" Sienna tried to force Adrian to choose. Some things are best dealt with quickly rather than being drawn out.
Seeing Sienna’s furious state, Melanie suddenly burst into tears. "Sixth Brother..."
Adrian wrapped his arms around Melanie, gently patting her back to comfort her. "Don’t overthink it. She’s sick and emotionally unstable. You go back to the island first. I’ll come back as soon as I’m done here."
"I forbid you from holding other women!"
Suddenly, something flew towards them. Adrian swiftly raised his arm to block it. CRASH! Something shattered. Instinctively, he shielded Melanie, holding her tightly as water from the vase drenched him.
The vase had held white lotus flowers, Sienna’s favorite.
With the broken vase, the lotus flowers lay scattered and wilted on the floor.
"AH!" Melanie screamed. Seeing the water and porcelain fragments on Adrian, she asked anxiously, "Sixth Brother, are you okay?"
Adrian was also stunned. He looked at the woman on the bed, her eyes cold. He’d never imagined she could be so vicious as to attack Melanie with a vase. "Mai, how could you be so malicious?"
"Malicious? Only now you realize I’m malicious? I’ve always been this malicious!" Sienna tore away her facade of false calm. "Adrian, between me and Miss Carpenter, you can only choose one!"
Sienna bit her lip hard, tilting her head back slightly to keep the tears from falling.
"Sixth Brother, are you hurt?" Melanie asked, her eyes filled only with concern for Adrian, her expression distraught.
"No."
"How can you not be? Your face is bleeding!" Shards of porcelain had cut his face in several places. If Adrian hadn’t reacted so quickly, the vase would have smashed on his head, likely cracking it open.
"How could she do this?"
The usually gentle Melanie suddenly rushed over and slapped Sienna across the face, scolding, "I’m hitting you for throwing that vase at Sixth Brother! Since you’re Sixth Brother’s woman, you should obey him—"
Before Melanie could finish, Sienna sat up slightly, grabbed Melanie’s arm, and slapped her face twice, HARD.
"You dare hit me? What right do you have? Who the hell do you think you are?!" Sienna was never one to suffer a loss, especially not from a rival.
Melanie clutched her face, stunned. She hadn’t expected Sienna to be so fierce. Both women, now frenzied, began to fight. Although Sienna was pregnant and still weak, she had learned close-quarter combat; Melanie was no match for her.
Adrian, watching from the sidelines, was completely dumbfounded. He knew Sienna was feisty. However, he never imagined that Melanie, who usually wouldn’t even harm an ant, would actually brawl with someone.
