The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress
Chapter 82 - 082: Giving Up Completely
CHAPTER 82: CHAPTER 082: GIVING UP COMPLETELY
"He’s here..."
"Who?"
As soon as the words were out, Sienna Johnson saw the stranger suddenly disappear before her very eyes, as if by magic. Astonished, she gaped, staring blankly.
How did he do that? So elusive.
Only then did Sienna remember the bodyguards outside. All the bodyguards Adrian Desmond had assigned to protect his precious son were highly skilled. How did he evade them and get in?
Adrian Desmond walked in. Seeing Sienna’s shocked and dazed expression, he paused for a moment.
"What’s wrong with you?" Adrian asked sharply.
Sienna composed herself, her gaze turning much colder as she looked at Adrian. "The Sixth Master’s Fiancee seems frightened. Why don’t you go comfort her?" Sienna said with a smirk.
Hearing her sarcastic tone, Adrian frowned. He had just finished comforting a hysterical Melanie Carpenter and had immediately come to see this troublesome woman, only to be met with her cold mockery.
Women are truly troublesome. If he didn’t have to marry Melanie, he would have preferred to marry only one woman in his life.
"Does it still hurt?"
Adrian held an ice pack, gently applying it to Sienna’s bruised cheek. Melanie had been much gentler. Unlike Sienna, Melanie’s face might be swollen for days.
He couldn’t help but sigh. "Melanie and I have discussed this many times. I have to marry her, so stop entertaining other ideas. Try to get along with her and put aside your prejudices."
Compared to men with multiple wives and lovers, he considered himself quite disciplined. He was only marrying two women, yet things had escalated to this point.
"Impossible!"
"You exasperating woman! Can’t you just be quiet and give me some peace? I’ve never felt so utterly worn out."
Sienna remained ungrateful. She snatched the ice pack from his hand and threw it at Adrian’s face.
In this world, it seemed only Sienna dared to treat Adrian so insolently.
"You woman! Smashing a vase at me earlier wasn’t enough, and now you’re throwing this at me..." He reached out and flicked her forehead forcefully.
"I was trying to hit Miss Carpenter; you got in the way."
"Why would you hit her? What did she do to provoke you?"
"Because I despise her!"
Adrian looked at Sienna and said softly, "You won’t see her again after this."
Sienna raised an eyebrow, teasing, "Did you kill her?"
"You..."
Sienna sneered. "Don’t tell me you sent her far away."
"Yes, it’s not safe here. I’ve arranged for her to stay abroad for a while... which is good, since you don’t want to see Melanie either," Adrian explained.
"If it’s not safe, why don’t you send me abroad to hide? I’m pregnant; I need safety even more! Adrian, you’re too biased. Your Fiancee is a treasure, while I’m just a worthless weed. Does this mean if danger arises, I’ll be the one to die for Melanie Carpenter?" Sienna accused him, her voice laced with resentment.
"What nonsense are you spouting!"
I can’t rest easy if you go anywhere else. Only when you’re under my constant watch can I feel at peace. It was no joke; if he sent her abroad alone, he wouldn’t be able to eat or sleep well. Who knew what kind of trouble she would stir up for herself?
"HMPH!"
His hand rested on her lower abdomen, where their child, a continuation of their bloodline, was growing. In just a few more months, he would meet him.
"Don’t bully Melanie anymore!"
Adrian sat down beside her and pulled Sienna into his embrace.
She didn’t struggle, allowing him to hold her. Looking up, she clearly saw faint lipstick marks on his collar. The color was faint, but Sienna immediately thought of Melanie.
As she was lost in thought, Adrian leaned his face close, intending to kiss her. Sienna averted her gaze from his neck. The more she tried not to look, the more her mind raced. Her hand pressed against his broad chest. Though not strong, it was enough to halt Adrian’s advance.
"Sixth Master, go change your clothes. Even if I am just your mistress, you shouldn’t treat me this way."
"Mistress? Mai, don’t say such things to provoke me." He couldn’t stand her listless, half-dead demeanor; it was worse than a heated argument.
Ignoring his intense gaze, Sienna reached out and flipped his collar inwards. "You were just with Miss Carpenter. Please clean yourself up before you touch me."
"I haven’t touched Melanie!"
Adrian’s long arm snaked around her waist as she tried to stand, pulling her back down onto his lap.
Sienna said mockingly, "It seems Miss Carpenter is very important to the Sixth Master. So important that you won’t touch her before marriage, only after. Sixth Master, when are you and Miss Carpenter getting married? Tell me, so I can prepare a lavish gift for you!"
Adrian’s heart pounded. Coming from Sienna, many words twisted into entirely different meanings. He hadn’t deliberately avoided intimacy with Melanie before marriage; he simply never felt that way about her.
"It’s not what you think!"
Sienna’s heart grew cold. If she had harbored any illusions about Adrian before, she was completely awakened now.
"Sixth Master, I’m tired. I want to sleep. Please leave." Sienna didn’t want to talk to him or even see him.
"You’ve slept for four days already, and you still want to sleep?" These past four days had terrified him. This thoughtless woman woke up, made such a scene, and was now giving him the cold shoulder. She had no idea how he’d struggled through these past four days.
"But I’m sleepy again."
"I’m sleepy too. Let’s sleep together." Adrian gently placed Sienna on the bed and climbed in beside her.
The hospital room Sienna occupied was evidently for the wealthy. Her bed wasn’t the usual narrow single type found in hospitals; though not enormous, it was certainly large enough for two people.
Sienna lay with her back to Adrian. His large hand rested on her lower abdomen. He seemed utterly exhausted and soon, soft snores could be heard.
Disgusted, Sienna tried to remove his hand from her belly and push him away. Adrian’s eyes fluttered open slightly, revealing eyes as dark as night. He tightened his grip, clinging to her like an octopus, even draping his leg over hers. Sienna was utterly miserable.
"Adrian, you’re crushing me!"
Without opening his eyes, he replied, "I’m not crushing you. Do you want me to?"
"The doctor said it would be fine after three months. Just one more month to go..." He counted the days, his hand wandering over Sienna’s belly as if sizing up prey, plotting where to take the first bite.
