CHAPTER 94: CHAPTER 094: THE SCENERY ON THE ISLAND IS GREAT, NOT LEAVING

"Mai, do you think Sixth Master really has a treasure? Full of gold, silver, and jewels? ...Since there’s a treasure, there must be a treasure map too. Where do you think Sixth Master’s treasure map is? What does it look like?" Kiki asked Sienna Johnson, her curiosity piqued, guessing that many others wanted to know as well.

"That’s easy. If you want to know, just ask Sixth Master when you see him," Sienna replied nonchalantly.

Kiki shrank her neck like a little turtle, looking incredibly cute as she muttered, "You’re just teasing me. You know I’m scared of Sixth Master; I’m usually terrified just talking to him, let alone asking about the treasure map. If I were to ask Sixth Master, he’d probably suspect I want to steal his treasure. Who knows, he might even dispose of me for it."

"You? Steal the treasure map? Kiki, no offense, but you really don’t have the ability for that."

"Yeah, I’m just that useless. Mai, why don’t *you* ask him?"

Sienna covered her mouth with a laugh. "What are you so afraid of Adrian Desmond for? He’s not going to eat you." Considering his temperament, Adrian actually treated Kiki quite well.

Kiki shook Sienna’s arm, pleading sweetly, "Mai, please go ask Sixth Master. Ask him if he’s involved in all the most profitable businesses in Abyanabad. And also, is there really a treasure?"

"You’re not seriously interested in Adrian’s treasure and considering staying here to hunt for it, are you?"

Kiki stuck out her tongue playfully. "You said it’s boring, right? We can have fun hunting for treasure."

"Alright, I’ll ask him when he calls me tonight."

"That’s great!"

Sienna’s thoughts ran deeper than Kiki’s. She guessed that those businesses were just the public-facing ones; there were likely other, shadier dealings. In this world, what business could be more profitable than smuggling weapons? The more Sienna considered prying into Adrian Desmond’s affairs, the more terrifying the man seemed.

She rubbed her temples, forcing herself not to dwell on it further.

Today is the 19th... I can leave on the 6th of next month.

Sienna gazed at the flora of the island, this place where she had lived for seven months. When she first arrived, she had considered this island that imprisoned her a cage. Now that she, the golden canary, was about to fly away, a surprising reluctance bloomed within her.

Unconsciously, they had wandered to the snake house. All the snakes inside had vanished.

"Mai, let’s go. This place is so eerie and creepy."

"There are no snakes inside anymore. What are you afraid of?"

Sienna walked closer and pushed open the iron door. A damp, decaying odor filled the air in the room. She didn’t enter, merely standing at the threshold.

Thinking back to her desperate, unanswered cries for help from within the snake house, Sienna couldn’t help but resent Adrian. She had told him that snakes were her greatest fear, yet he had used this weakness against her. That fact alone was enough to chill Sienna to the bone.

So, even during their most affectionate moments, Sienna had never revealed her true self or feelings to Adrian. He had lost her trust.

"Where have all the snakes gone?" Sienna was no longer afraid of snakes. After experiencing extreme fear time and time again, she had conquered her phobia.

I won’t allow myself to have weaknesses, she vowed internally, and I certainly won’t allow anyone to use them to hurt me!

"I don’t know. Maybe because you kept running to this snake house, Sixth Master had someone deal with those snakes?" Kiki looked at Sienna and asked, "Mai, you were pretending to be crazy back then, so why did you keep going to the snake house?"

"Because I’m afraid of snakes, of course. Coming here a few more times was to build up my courage."

Just imagining the scene of someone "dancing with snakes" sent shivers down Kiki’s spine and made her skin crawl.

"Mai, sometimes I really don’t understand you."

"You don’t need to understand me; just know that I mean you no harm."

Kiki hugged Sienna’s arm, smiling brightly. "In this world, Mai is the best to me."

"Ugh... Don’t say such sentimental things, it’s making me cringe. In the future, when you have a man and children, they’ll be the ones who treat you best," Sienna said, feigning disgust as she tried to push Kiki away, but Kiki shamelessly clung to her again.

"That’s different."

Sienna’s stomach rumbled. She touched her forehead in embarrassment. "...I just ate on the boat, so why am I hungry again? What kind of child is in my belly? A Little Monster?"

"Pregnant women get hungry easily because one person is eating for two. Come on, I’ll make you something tasty."

"Okay, let’s go."

「That evening」

Sienna decided to stay the night on Unnamed Island. Resa was anxious, but he couldn’t very well knock Sienna unconscious and drag her away. His only option was to call Adrian Desmond and report the situation.

"She wants to stay on the island?" Adrian asked.

"Yes. Madam initially said she just wanted to visit the island briefly and then leave. Who knew that once she got here, she wouldn’t want to go? If I had known this was Madam’s intention, I wouldn’t have agreed to her request in the first place," Resa explained.

"I understand."

"Sixth Master, what do we do now?"

The calmer Sienna appeared, the more uneasy Adrian felt. Only when Sienna was under his direct supervision could he feel even slightly at ease.

"Put her on the phone."

"Yes."

Resa, phone in hand, knocked on the door. He found the two women with cucumber slices plastered to their faces. The sight of their faces covered in cucumber slices left Resa speechless; he found it hard to believe that sticking cucumber slices on one’s face could actually improve skin.

"Madam, it’s Sixth Master on the phone."

Sienna didn’t dare ignore Adrian’s call now. It wasn’t that she was afraid of making him angry, but rather that the man was incredibly persistent. If she didn’t answer, he would keep calling indefinitely.

"Hello..." Sienna had cucumber slices on her face, so her facial muscles couldn’t move much, making her words come out a little muffled.

Adrian paused for a moment before recognizing Sienna’s voice. "What are you doing?"

"Applying a facial mask."

"You haven’t smeared mud, milk, and honey on your face again, have you?" Adrian always felt speechless whenever he saw Sienna applying strange concoctions to her face.

"It’s not mud; it’s mineral-rich cosmetic clay with beautifying effects," Sienna explained.

Adrian wasn’t interested in that. He just wanted to know when Sienna would return to his side. "Why the sudden desire to stay on the island?"

"The scenery on the island is beautiful."

Adrian scoffed internally. Nonsense! I remember perfectly well how desperately she wanted to leave Unnamed Island back then.

"Alright, have fun for one day. Come back by boat tomorrow."

Kiki was trimming Sienna’s nails. Sienna didn’t like long nails, so Kiki kept them neatly rounded. Though unpolished, Sienna’s nails had a natural pink hue and a healthy sheen, looking very pretty.

Admiring her own hands, Sienna said coolly, "...I think I’ll stay on the island until your wedding."
