CHAPTER 96: CHAPTER 096: NOT LETTING HIM KISS

Sienna Johnson fought back her tears, quickly returned to her room, closed the door, and then hugged Kiki, sobbing quietly.

All these days, the strength she had feigned and the indifference she had pretended to feel crumbled in an instant upon hearing that Adrian Desmond and Melanie Carpenter had slept together last night.

"I know, I know, I know..."

"But my heart aches so much... Adrian, how could he treat me like this?"

"Mai, don’t be sad." Kiki didn’t know how to comfort her. Sienna rarely cried, especially not with such devastating sadness as now.

"Kiki, I hate him! I hate him!"

Kiki gently patted her back like a mother soothing a crying child. She said softly, "Mai, Sixth Master and Melanie will be married in a few days. Just bear with it a little longer, and then we’ll leave. Then it will be out of sight, out of mind..."

"Yeah."

Sienna stopped crying, though her eyes were still red. Kiki comforted her, "Don’t be sad, Mai. Just imagine, if we run away with Sixth Master’s son, he’ll be so furious he’ll probably cough up blood!"

Sienna laughed guiltily. "Yeah, if I were to find a stepfather for his son... Adrian would probably be infuriated to death when he finds out."

"Exactly. So, bear with it for a few more days, and then we can leave."

"Thank you, Kiki." Sienna hugged Kiki. Kiki smiled shyly. "Mai, why are you being so polite with me?"

"Kiki, you’re so good; if I were a man, I’d want to marry you." Kiki was the type of woman who was good for the home and family; marrying her would definitely be a wise choice. Too bad I’m a woman and have no lesbian tendencies.

"If you were a man, I wouldn’t marry you."

Sienna hadn’t expected Kiki to reject her. "Why? With my looks, even as a man, I’d be handsome. I play the pipa well, I’m intelligent, and I’m presentable in public and capable in private. On what grounds would you reject me?"

"You have a bad temper! You fly off the handle at the slightest thing. If I marry, I’ll marry someone good-tempered..."

Sienna was speechless.

She was being looked down upon.

After Kiki’s attempt to cheer her up, Sienna, although no longer crying, remained dispirited for the rest of the day and barely ate anything.

In the evening, Adrian Desmond came to the island himself. When Sienna saw him, she didn’t give him a pleasant look, nor did she even speak to him. Accompanying Adrian was the Desmond family’s cook. Apparently, Adrian had heard Sienna hadn’t eaten much all day and, assuming the island’s food wasn’t to her liking, had brought their cook from home.

Sienna wasn’t moved in the slightest; on the contrary, her aversion to Adrian deepened. She found him hypocritical and cunning. He was clearly about to marry another woman, yet he feigned affection for her.

She hated herself even more. How could she still feel sad for a man who had hurt her so much?

"I heard you haven’t eaten much today, so I brought our family’s cook. Be sure to eat more later."

"You’re pregnant now; you can’t be so willful. Even if you don’t feel like eating, you must eat more. You’ll starve my son."

Whenever Adrian returned, the first thing he would do was press his ear against her belly, listening for their baby. Sienna’s baby had started quickening; sometimes it would roll around in her womb, making her belly ripple like waves, which was quite fascinating.

"Son, Daddy’s back..." Adrian greeted his son.

The baby in her womb seemed to oblige, giving a kick. It was a bit strong, causing Sienna to cry out in pain. Seeing this, Adrian asked with concern, "What’s wrong? Are you uncomfortable? ...I’ll call the doctor."

Sienna stopped him. "It’s fine. He just kicked me."

Adrian looked at Sienna’s belly and chided, "Little guy, kick gently next time. If you dare hurt your mother again, I’ll spank your bottom when you’re born."

"Alright, I’ve disciplined him. He won’t dare to do it next time." Adrian was kneeling on one knee before her. As he finished speaking, he looked up at her, his gaze as gentle as water.

"Weren’t you busy? Why did you come to the island?"

"To see you and our son. The nursery at home is finished. Come back with me tomorrow to take a look and see if anything needs to be changed..."

The nursery was right next to their room. Adrian had put a lot of effort into it, even hiring a famous designer. However, her baby was destined never to use it.

"You can just let Mrs. Desmond take a look." It could be left for Melanie Carpenter’s child, then.

Adrian frowned. "He’s our son. Why should Melanie go see it?"

"You and Mrs. Desmond will eventually have children..."

Adrian fell silent.

Sienna put down the clothes she was holding, walked out, then stopped halfway. She turned and said to Adrian, "I’m very interested in that ’place where you keep your money’ you mentioned. Can you take me to see it?"

"Okay." Adrian naturally had no objection; it was rare for Sienna to show such interest in something.

"Can I bring Kiki with me?"

"Yes."

Sienna explained, "Kiki has always wanted to go treasure hunting. She’d be really happy if she knew."

Kiki was indeed very happy, but the thought of going with Adrian dampened her enthusiasm.

Kiki looked at Adrian, shrinking back slightly, and whispered to Sienna, "I... maybe I won’t go."

"Huh? Why not? Don’t you want to go treasure hunting?"

Kiki glanced at Adrian, a quick look before she lowered her head. Sienna understood and, covering her mouth to stifle a laugh, said, "Sixth Master, our Kiki is still quite afraid of you. How about we go by ourselves?" Sienna wanted to confirm for herself just how much gold and silver was actually there.

Adrian ignored her suggestion and helped Sienna onto the boat. Kiki hesitated for a moment, then followed them.

As evening approached, colorful clouds filled the sky. The vast blue sea transformed into a rose-colored expanse, exuding an exotic charm. If Sienna were merely on vacation, she would undoubtedly be captivated by such beauty. Realizing she might never witness such a stunning sight again, she took out her phone and snapped a few pictures.

Seeing this, an idea struck Adrian. He also took out his phone, pulled Sienna into an embrace, rested her head on his shoulder, and snapped several pictures.

Sienna saw him set one of the photos as his phone wallpaper. She scoffed and reminded him, "Sixth Master, it wouldn’t be good if Mrs. Desmond saw this, would it?"

"It’s not up to others to point fingers at what I do."

What Adrian meant to imply was that Melanie, unlike Sienna, wouldn’t be so willful.

"Oh, that’s right. Mrs. Desmond is so gentle and virtuous, so naturally, whatever Sixth Master says, goes, doesn’t it?"

Adrian leaned in, attempting to kiss her, but Sienna dodged, avoiding the kiss. Adrian’s displeasure showed on his face.

"Why won’t you let me kiss you anymore?"
