The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress
Chapter 97 - 097: Farewell, The Last Kiss
CHAPTER 97: CHAPTER 097: FAREWELL, THE LAST KISS
"Sixth Master, you have bad breath." Sienna Johnson found an excuse, and Adrian Desmond was dumbfounded.
Being looked down upon by a woman for having bad breath deeply wounded Adrian Desmond’s pride. His face turned crimson with embarrassment. "How is that possible? No one except you has ever said that I have bad breath!"
"Sixth Master, who else would be as honest as me..."
Adrian Desmond: ...
"Walter Klein!" As soon as Sienna stepped away, Adrian Desmond called Walter over.
"Sixth Master, what do you need?"
Adrian Desmond waved his hand at him. "Come here."
Walter thought that Adrian Desmond had something important to say to him, so he walked over with big strides. Adrian Desmond, however, was still not satisfied with the distance. "Closer."
Walter moved closer.
"Even closer!"
If Walter moved any closer, the distance would become dangerously ambiguous. Walter dared not to get any closer and pondered what might have provoked Adrian Desmond. Bracing himself, he asked, "Sixth Master, what do you want to do?"
Adrian Desmond leaned towards him, took a deep breath, and asked, "Do I have bad breath or not?"
"Huh?"
Walter’s mind went blank for a moment as Adrian Desmond exhaled another breath in his direction. "I want the truth. Do I really have bad breath?"
Walter looked exasperated. "Sixth Master, why do you ask such a thing?"
"Mai said I have bad breath!"
It finally dawned on Walter that Adrian Desmond’s mind would go haywire whenever Sienna was involved. "Sixth Master, don’t you think that Madam is just teasing you?"
Adrian Desmond looked at him with a puzzled expression, while Walter clarified, "Sixth Master does not have bad breath; your breath is fresh! I think Madam just doesn’t want you to kiss her, so she purposely said you have bad breath."
A man would only care about whether he has bad breath if he wanted to kiss a woman.
"So, I really don’t have bad breath!"
"I swear! I swear on my deceased parents!"
Adrian Desmond clenched his fist and gritted his teeth. "Mai, you tricked me again!"
The small island where Adrian Desmond stored his wealth was a remote one. Intriguingly, it was shrouded in a dense fog. The island was hidden within that fog, and people wouldn’t typically venture there unless they knew of its existence.
"This island is quite secluded."
If the place to store money wasn’t hidden, how could the money be safe?
The small yacht sailed directly into the dense fog. Sienna’s vision was obscured, and she couldn’t see her surroundings. Suddenly, she felt a soft pressure on her lips—a kiss.
The kiss on her lips was so familiar that even without seeing the person, Sienna knew who it was. In this world, who else but Adrian Desmond could kiss her into such a state of blissful confusion?
Though she wanted to push him away, thinking that in a few more days, she would be leaving, Sienna allowed herself this final indulgence—a last, parting kiss.
Adrian Desmond, I have loved you...
As they passed through the dense fog, a green island appeared before them. In that moment, they saw nothing but each other.
Adrian Desmond saw the despair in Sienna’s eyes, and a dull ache throbbed in his heart. He took her hand, comforting her and, even more so, soothing the unease in his own heart. "Mai, I will treat you well, for the rest of my life."
Sienna concealed her emotions and smiled, not responding.
Sienna took a few more pictures, saving them as keepsakes.
The group went ashore. The island showed no signs of human intervention, appearing as if untouched. Adrian Desmond’s treasure was hidden underground.
When Adrian Desmond personally led her by the hand down the stairs and into the place where he kept his wealth, she was still stunned by what she saw...
Adrian Desmond said it was where he stored his money, but the floor was littered with gold, silver, and jewels. Like a library with shelves of books, this place had shelves filled with gold bars. Another vault housed countless boxes of jewelry.
Kiki’s mouth hung open, her eyes practically gleaming. "This really is a treasure trove!"
Adrian Desmond had only brought Sienna and Kiki inside; the bodyguards remained outside. It seemed very secure here.
"Adrian Desmond, how wealthy are you, really?"
Adrian Desmond looked at Sienna’s stomach and said, "Very. I don’t know the exact amount. But you and our son could live extravagantly for a lifetime without having to do a thing."
Adrian Desmond led Sienna by the hand into the room filled with rare treasures. He opened one of the boxes. Sienna’s eyes were momentarily blinded by the dazzling light, preventing her from seeing the contents clearly. Then she heard Adrian Desmond say, "Take a look. Do you like them? If you do, I’ll give them all to you."
Sienna moved closer and saw the contents. The box was filled with jewelry: huge Eastern pearls, jadeite, gemstones... The value of this single box was immeasurable.
"No wonder you want to marry several wives; you’re so rich..." Sienna picked up an emerald. Of all the treasures, Sienna loved jade the most.
"Mai, if you wanted the moon, I would pluck it from the sky for you, as long as you stay by my side."
Sienna deliberately ignored his words and called Kiki over.
"Mai, what’s up?"
"Sixth Master wants to give us gifts. You pick one too."
Kiki shook her head. "I just wanted to see what a treasure trove looks like. I don’t want anything." Saying this, as if afraid Sienna would force something on her, Kiki turned and ran off.
Sienna said with a double meaning, "Sixth Master, you see, not all women are interested in your treasures."
Sienna returned the emerald to its place and turned to leave.
She was calculating in her mind: so much wealth was enough to make many people envious and, consequently, take desperate risks.
This was a move Sienna was planning. After she left, she would spread news of this treasure hoard. That would be enough to cause Adrian Desmond a massive headache.
She wanted to see then whether Adrian Desmond would prioritize finding her or protecting these treasures.
As Sienna went out, she encountered Walter Klein. Their eyes met. Walter’s gaze was unsettling, as if he knew a secret of hers. Sienna lowered her head and walked away.
March 6th was an auspicious day. Sienna had checked the astrology calendar: favorable for weddings and worship. Of course, such a fine day was also perfect for an escape.
Adrian Desmond and Melanie Carpenter’s wedding was scheduled for this day.
It seemed Adrian Desmond was afraid Sienna might cause trouble. As soon as she pushed open her door, she saw it was densely packed with bodyguards.
Resa came forward and asked, "Madam, do you have any instructions?"
"What’s going on with all these people outside?"
"Sixth Master sent them to protect you, Madam."
Sienna sneered. "Such a display. Anyone who didn’t know better would think I was some country’s princess."
"In Sixth Master’s heart, Madam is more esteemed than any princess!" Resa wasn’t flattering Sienna; she was merely stating the truth.
Sienna, however, did not appreciate the gesture. She said to Resa, "I don’t want to see any of you. I don’t care what you do out there, but none of you are to enter my room! Otherwise, don’t blame me if something happens to the baby..."
As long as Sienna claimed to feel unwell, Adrian Desmond would make everyone suffer.
