CHAPTER 11: CHAPTER 11: FINDING THE CULPRIT

Henry Stanton suddenly remembered that Clarissa Stanton was still lying on the ground, convulsing uncontrollably.

He ordered the servants to carry Clarissa Stanton downstairs and prepared to go to the hospital with Summer Monroe.

"Honey! Don’t leave, take me with you!" Stella Monroe was crying nonstop, "Clarissa is... I watched her grow up. I can’t just wait at home!"

Henry Stanton looked at Summer Monroe’s pitiful and frightened appearance and said firmly, "No! Go back to your room and reflect on yourself! Someone! Take the madam back to her room, and without my permission, no one is allowed to let her out!"

"Yes, sir!" The servants forcibly took Stella Monroe away.

Summer Monroe got on the ambulance with Henry Stanton.

Softly, she pleaded for Stella Monroe, "Dad, why don’t we let Aunt go too? I see she’s very close to my sister, and if she stays home alone, she’ll certainly be worried."

However, Henry Stanton simply said, "No need to say more."

After he finished speaking, he sighed and looked at Summer Monroe, saying, "You silly child, you’ve suffered in the countryside, haven’t you?"

"No... I had a great life." Summer’s words were indeed the truth.

She actually had a very good life abroad, better than ever.

But Henry Stanton only thought she was being stubborn, sighed again, and said, "How will a naive child like you survive in this city of Crestfall... I’ll have to teach you more about people and interactions here when there’s time."

"Thank you, Dad!"

"We’re family; no need to thank me..."

Quickly, they arrived at the nearest hospital.

Clarissa Stanton was immediately taken to the emergency room because her heart had stopped.

Two people anxiously waited outside the emergency room.

Of course, it was mainly Henry Stanton who was anxious. Both daughters were the chips in his rise, and both were his biological children. With Clarissa Stanton in trouble, he was naturally worried.

After who knows how long, the door to the emergency room finally opened, and the doctor walked out.

Henry Stanton hurriedly asked, "Doctor, how is my daughter?"

The doctor solemnly replied, "The patient is out of danger but needs to be monitored for a few more days. This snake is extremely venomous; if you had brought her ten minutes later, no one could have saved her! But how did you get bitten by a snake? This snake shouldn’t have appeared in Crestfall."

Henry Stanton asked in confusion, "What do you mean? Our home is a manor, and the manor is on top of a mountain. A snake crawling in should be normal, right?"

The doctor shook his head and said, "This type of snake is native to the south; there are no wild ones in the north. Even if there are, they were transported from the south. Maybe you should go back and find out what’s going on."

Henry Stanton’s face suddenly darkened, "Do you mean this could be deliberate?"

"Very likely."

Henry Stanton’s fist clenched tightly, "Who the hell wants to harm my daughter’s life!"

His gaze unconsciously fell upon Summer Monroe beside him, with a hint of suspicion in his eyes...

Summer Monroe seemed oblivious and joined Henry Stanton in indignation, "Someone dare try to kill with a venomous snake, the person who brought the snake into our manor isn’t even human! Dad, you must find out what happened, this is attempted murder!"

Hearing Summer Monroe say this, Henry Stanton’s suspicion gradually faded away.

This couldn’t possibly be the act of a simple girl from the countryside who had just arrived in Crestfall; she was straightforward and brave enough to fight a snake, it was really unfair to doubt her!

"Let’s go home first, I need to thoroughly investigate who brought this snake in!"

"Dad is right, you must get to the bottom of this! Today the snake bit my sister; what if it bites you tomorrow... what would we do? Dad, you must investigate quickly and find the culprit!" Summer Monroe said earnestly and seriously.

Henry Stanton agreed completely.

Once he finds out who let the snake into the manor, he will certainly not let them off easily!

Henry Stanton left people at the hospital to care for Clarissa Stanton, while he took Summer Monroe back to the manor to prepare for a full investigation.

Although Stella Monroe was under house arrest, her communication tools were not confiscated. She was the first to receive the news that Clarissa Stanton was out of danger, and finally, her tense nerves relaxed a bit.

However, upon hearing that someone maliciously released the snake, she trembled with rage.

"Madam, the master is back!" a servant whispered at the door to report.

Stella Monroe could no longer stay in the room; the door was locked, and the key was with Henry Stanton.

She paced around the room, eventually smashing the lock with an ink stone to break out.

Just as Summer Monroe and Henry Stanton entered the house, they saw Stella Monroe quickly running downstairs.

Stella Monroe shouted while running, "It’s definitely that bitch! She wants to get rid of my Clarissa and brought snakes from the south as an excuse for the trip from the countryside! Only she returned from the south! Honey, you must stand up for Clarissa!"

Summer Monroe stepped back two steps, opening her mouth to speak in deep grievance, "Auntie, you’ve been suspecting me of harming my sister from the beginning. To prove my innocence, I even risked my life to save her... and it’s still not enough. Now you slander me, saying I brought the snake?"

Stella Monroe pointed at Summer Monroe’s nose and scolded, "It was definitely you! You! Stop pretending to be pitiful! Honey, lock her up and interrogate her!"

"Enough!" Henry Stanton said, unable to bear it any longer, "You’ve already accused her once, do you want to do it a second time? I will investigate and give you an explanation! Now, go back to your room and don’t come out again! Someone, keep her in her room and do not allow her to leave!"

"Yes, sir." The servants once again forcibly took Stella Monroe away.

"Honey, you must believe me! You must find out the truth..."

Summer Monroe watched Stella Monroe being taken away, feeling certain that the cobra incident had nothing to do with her.

If Stella Monroe were involved, she would never say such things as "find out the truth."

Indeed, it was perfect...

Clarissa Stanton has to pay for her foolishness and malice!

Summer Monroe turned to Henry Stanton and said clearly, "Dad, I saw surveillance cameras when I came in, you can check who entered and exited the manor at night. You can also send someone to nearby places where they sell snakes and ask if someone has bought venomous snakes."

"You’re right." Henry Stanton ordered the butler, "Do it now! Also, search everyone’s room in the manor thoroughly to see if there are any more snakes."

Even though it’s only three or four in the morning, he isn’t sleepy at all, fearing that a venomous snake might suddenly appear somewhere.

Before long, the servant responsible for checking the surveillance came to report, "Sir, we found that just after eleven o’clock, the nanny of the second miss left the manor. Besides her, no one else did."

"The nanny?" Henry Stanton squinted his eyes, "Bring her here for questioning immediately!"
