CHAPTER 18: CHAPTER 18: HIS APPROACH

She stood up and said, "Sister, what’s wrong with you? Can’t you withstand a little hardship? Do you really have to compete with me for first class? Don’t forget why we’re going this time—it’s for my award ceremony!"

Summer said coldly, "Don’t worry, I won’t compete with you for first class."

Clarissa Stanton frowned and asked, "Then why are you here?"

Henry Stanton was also unhappy and asked, "Summer, what are you doing? I thought you were a well-behaved girl. Is that not the case?"

Just as Summer was about to speak, the man next to her said, "You’ve misunderstood. Miss Monroe isn’t here for first class. I’m here to escort Miss Monroe to a private jet. Look, it’s that one right over there."

"What?!" Clarissa stared out the window in disbelief.

Outside, there was a lavish private jet with the prominent letter "K" on the body.

That was the Knight Family’s private jet!

Clarissa quickly turned to look at Summer, her eyes almost overflowing with jealousy.

Stella Monroe’s expression was also anything but calm, her hands clenched tightly into fists.

Only Henry Stanton, after a brief moment of shock, quickly said to the man by Summer’s side, "Sir, I’m Sadie’s father. We’re family, can we come along?"

The man, with a blank expression, said, "Sorry, the chairman only invited Miss Monroe. Besides, all three of you upgraded your seats, leaving Miss Monroe in economy class—is this how a family acts?"

Henry Stanton’s face turned red, and he was filled with regret.

If he and Summer had upgraded earlier, would they now be sitting in Damian Knight’s private jet?

The man didn’t care what Henry Stanton was thinking and turned respectfully to Summer, saying, "Miss Monroe, please."

Summer nodded and said to Henry Stanton, "Let’s meet up after we land."

After speaking, she held her head high without sparing Clarissa a glance, and followed the man off the plane.

Feeling both envy and resentment, Clarissa and Stella watched Summer get on the luxurious private jet next door.

As soon as Summer boarded, she saw Damian Knight looking through a contract.

The man beside her reminded Damian Knight, "Young Master Knight, Miss Monroe has arrived."

Damian Knight responded with a faint "Mm," without even lifting his eyes.

Summer felt somewhat uneasy.

Fortunately, the man behind her spoke up, "Young Master is busy. Please sit in the other cabin."

"Alright." Summer nodded, walked past Damian Knight, and entered another cabin.

As soon as she entered, she exclaimed with delight, "Evans?"

The blonde man with blue eyes looked up, instinctively shouting with joy, "SAN? I didn’t expect to see you here. Have you returned to the country?"

"Yes, I just got back recently."

Evans gestured to the seat beside him, "Sit next to me."

After Summer sat down, Evans excitedly asked about her recent activities and then extended an invitation, "I’m heading to Meridian for the academy’s award ceremony. As the founder of our academy, if you have time, would you mind attending?"

Evans is the principal of the Royal Coffee Academy and a world-renowned barista.

It was she and Evans who originally planned the establishment of the Royal Coffee Academy.

Their initial goal was to create a place where all coffee enthusiasts could learn and advance their skills.

Little did they know it would develop into a place for socialites to enhance their image, so Evans set a limit of ten slots for the Advanced Coffee Master’s certificate to ensure it’s reserved for genuinely talented individuals.

Summer heard Evans was going to award Clarissa, and her lip curled, "What a coincidence, I happen to be heading there too..."

Upon hearing Summer’s intention to attend as well, Evans happily exclaimed, "That’s wonderful! The students will be thrilled to meet the founder!"

"No." Summer shook her head and said, "Actually, I’d like to ask you to keep my identity a secret."

Evans asked in confusion, "Why?"

"I have my personal reasons."

"Alright, just having you there makes me very happy."

Summer gave a faint smile and didn’t say much more.

...

After a two-hour flight, the plane arrived at Meridian Airport.

When Summer deplaned, Damian Knight was already gone.

She bid farewell to Evans and went to find Henry Stanton and them.

They originally agreed to meet after landing, but when she arrived at the airport lobby, there was no sign of Henry Stanton and the others.

Summer waited quietly on the spot, knowing that Henry Stanton still saw her as useful and wouldn’t just abandon her.

At that moment, a man escorted by bodyguards in black suits was walking towards her.

It was Damian Knight!

Even surrounded by tall bodyguards, Damian Knight was distinctly prominent.

Passersby who saw Damian Knight displayed expressions of amazement and excitedly discussed his appearance.

"He’s so handsome, could he be a celebrity?"

"He can’t be a celebrity, if he were, he would’ve been all over the entertainment industry by now, overshadowing the current popular idols."

Compared to the public’s excitement, Summer’s reaction was extremely indifferent.

She glanced at him once and then focused on dialing Henry Stanton’s number.

But as soon as the call was made, it was rejected. No need to guess, it was definitely Clarissa who did it.

Although Stella is malicious, she’s not so stupid as to use such an obvious trick.

Clarissa just wants her to wait until she’s completely vexed, so she’ll take her time waiting.

Summer saw a refreshment room not far away and headed over with her water cup.

However, Summer didn’t expect that just as she stepped into the refreshment room and before she could pour water, the door slammed shut with a "bang".

Instinctively, Summer turned around, but just as she did, a tall man pinned her against the wall with his body.

Summer immediately tried to throw him over her shoulder, but seeing the man’s face stopped her movements.

"Young Master Knight?" she blinked twice in shock and asked in surprise, "You... why..."

"Why pretend not to know me?" Before Summer could finish her question, Damian interrupted.

Summer looked into Damian’s eyes in confusion; they were like those of a fierce lion, and the king of the jungle was evidently enraged.

Did Damian mean, he’d passed by her earlier, and because she didn’t greet him, he was upset?

So he actually remembered her, so why did he pretend not to know her at the airport and ignore her on the plane?

Summer said in exasperation and amusement, "You were the one pretending not to know me first, Young Master Knight is so busy, how would I dare disturb you again?"

Summer truly had no idea what Damian was thinking.

If he remembered her, why pretend not to know her?

If he’s pretending not to know her, he should maintain the facade, so why suddenly corner her to question why she’s pretending not to know him?
