The Billionaire CEO Wants to Marry Me Every Day
Chapter 182: Narrow Encounter with a Nemesis
CHAPTER 182: CHAPTER 182: NARROW ENCOUNTER WITH A NEMESIS
Willow Grant’s face flushed bashfully: "Mrs. Stone, you’re teasing me again."
Susan Stone laughed, feeling increasingly satisfied with Willow Grant.
She turned to the butler and said, "Send me her phone number."
"Yes." The butler quickly sent Summer Monroe’s phone number to Susan Stone’s phone.
On the other side.
Summer Monroe had just returned to Stanton Manor when she was summoned by Henry Stanton.
"Dad, is there something you need?" Summer displayed her usual obedient expression.
Henry Stanton, sitting at his desk, smiled as he motioned for Summer to come over and cut to the chase: "Didn’t you suggest before that you’d like to work in the company and see what it’s like?"
Summer nodded: "Are you suggesting I go work at the company?"
Henry Stanton nodded and said, "I’ve already leased a new office building, and there happens to be a staffing shortage there now. Starting tomorrow, you can come to work with me. Learn management well from the higher-ups."
Summer paused for two seconds and said, "Dad, honestly, rather than starting with management, I’d prefer to start from the ground level. I shouldn’t manage anything without understanding it, or it might damage your reputation."
Henry Stanton, who valued his reputation the most, nodded in satisfaction upon hearing Summer’s words: "You’re right. Those in the company love to gossip. Starting from the ground level to learn is good as well. So, which department would you like to work in?"
Summer, with a naive look, said, "I’ve heard aunt say that there aren’t many profitable departments in the company; the most profitable one is the AI Technology Department. I’ve studied a bit of AI, so I’d like to check it out."
This was something she had discovered through her own research. The Stanton Group’s only profitable business currently is the AI Technology Department. She wanted to investigate why this department remains profitable when all others are losing money.
"Alright!" Henry Stanton agreed without thinking too much, assuming Summer just wanted to play.
The AI Technology Department is where they work on robotics, so it’s normal for Summer to want to have fun there.
She really is a young girl, with play being the only thing on her mind.
Unlike Stella Monroe, after Summer inadvertently remarked last time, he deeply suspected that Stella Monroe might secretly be scheming something.
Therefore, sending Stella Monroe away this time also had the reason of not wanting her to excessively meddle in company affairs.
As for Summer, there was no need to guard against her. She’d latched onto the Knight Family, so there was no possibility she’d seek anything from the Stanton Group.
Besides, what ill-intention could a little girl from a mountain village harbor?
"Then take a couple of days to rest, and report to the AI Technology Department on Monday. The department is at a branch company, and they haven’t met you yet. If you don’t want to reveal your identity, you can keep it concealed. On Monday, you’ll be reporting together with your cousin. Your cousin graduated in AI design; if there’s anything you don’t understand, just ask him."
Summer’s eyes subtly gleamed.
Cousin? If she guessed correctly, it should be the guy Stella Monroe sent to have her killed at sea.
Talk about a narrow escape.
Summer had been worried about not finding an opportunity to avenge being stuck on the island for a week; now the opportunity was knocking at the door.
It was truly wonderful.
"Alright, I’ll definitely learn from my cousin."
Summer chuckled softly, a cold glint passing through her eyes unnoticed by Henry Stanton.
Henry Stanton was extremely satisfied with Summer’s obedience; a woman should be compliant to be considered a good woman, but if she harbors ill intentions, then she isn’t a good woman.
"Then go rest early in your room, you’ve been tired these two days. I need to discuss the rent matter with Young Master Knight." Henry Stanton tapped both hands on the desk, a lengthy bill beside him.
