CHAPTER 209: CHAPTER 209: THEY SUCCEEDED!

Adam Dixon, looking extremely honored, happily left with Wallace Thorne.

Summer Monroe glanced at Damian Knight, who gave her a congratulatory look. Though he said nothing, that one look conveyed everything to Summer.

They succeeded!

Summer nodded briefly and accompanied Damian Knight and Mr. Thorne to a nearby lounge for tea.

Wallace Thorne had opened countless chess rooms and tea houses domestically; any tea house of some repute was opened by him. The tea he brought this time, of course, was top-notch.

Summer took a sip of the tea personally brewed by Wallace, and under his expectant gaze, she gave a thumbs up: "Delicious!"

Wallace breathed a long sigh of relief and said, "As long as you find it delicious. By the way, weren’t you abroad all the time? Why suddenly come back?"

A momentary stiffness crossed Summer’s face, but she quickly relaxed and smiled, "I’m from here, of course, I want to come back. But you, why haven’t you come out to see me all this while?"

Wallace sighed, "Still the Rossary Strategy you designed. Last time I said, unless I cracked it, I wouldn’t see you. Never thought... you’d end up solving it yourself."

Wallace treated Summer with utmost respect, calling her "you" at every turn.

Next to them, Adam watched Wallace, not daring to speak for a moment, unsure how to address Summer.

Summer said helplessly, "Didn’t I already say? If you insist on making me your mentor, then we should address each other as equals. I’ll call you Old Man Thorne, and you call me Sadie, so neither of us loses."

Suddenly, Jayden Irving and Adam realized why Summer spoke so casually to Wallace.

It seemed Summer had already made a concession.

After they finished drinking tea in the lounge, it was Wallace who, due to his age, couldn’t hold out any longer, stood up, and bid farewell.

After Wallace and Jayden left, Summer called out to Adam.

"Chairman Dixon, could you stay back for a few words?"

Adam, although puzzled, readily agreed: "Sure!"

Summer glanced at Damian Knight, who then said, "Actually, we’ve been wanting to have tea with you, just couldn’t find the right moment."

Mr. Dixon, a straightforward man, directly asked, "If there’s something you want to say, just say it. No need to beat around the bush. I respect Miss Monroe greatly, and if I can be of help, I’ll certainly assist. Just... hope we can play chess more often when there’s time."

Summer agreed wholeheartedly.

Damian then said, "We’d like to know if you were acquainted with Luna Monroe?"

Adam’s long beard trembled; he diverted his gaze and asked, "She’s been gone for so long, why are you asking about her?"

Summer straightened up and said, "Chairman Dixon, Luna Monroe was my mother."

Adam stared at her in shock, then with a complicated expression said, "No wonder your chess skills are so good. Chess requires talent. Your mother was also very talented. Such a pity... sigh."

Adam sighed deeply.

Summer paused, then directly asked, "Chairman Dixon, what I want to ask is, did my mother have a lover before marrying?"

Adam was silent for two seconds and said, "Perhaps..."

Summer quickly asked, "What do you mean by perhaps?"

"I mean..." Adam grimaced, "I don’t know him, and your mother never formally introduced him to me."

Summer’s eyes lit up, "Then do you know his name?"

Adam shook his head, then nodded, "I don’t know his full name, only that he was a foreigner."
