The Billionaire CEO Wants to Marry Me Every Day
Chapter 313: Their Secret
CHAPTER 313: CHAPTER 313: THEIR SECRET
Damian Knight paused for a moment and then asked with a laugh, "Concerned about me?"
"It’s only fair, didn’t you show concern for me too?"
"Alright, but don’t just worry about me. Tomorrow is the third day as agreed with that guy, you should be careful."
Summer Monroe responded with a "hmm," placed the phone down from her shoulder, and said, "Don’t worry, I’m not in Crestfall, he won’t find me. By the time I return to Crestfall, it’ll be night."
"Okay, call me when you get to Crestfall."
Just as Damian Knight finished speaking, Isaac Ross’s voice could be heard. Summer Monroe said, "You should go get busy, I’m going to sleep now."
"Alright, good night."
Summer whispered a nearly inaudible "good night" and quickly hung up the phone.
The words "good night" actually carry a lot of ambiguity.
If you break down their sound, it means... I love you.
Summer put the phone back in her pocket and exhaled heavily. She glanced down and was surprised to find that the strand of grass she had randomly picked and twisted had somehow formed into the shape of a ring.
"Ah—" Summer exclaimed, tossing the grass ring away as if she’d seen a ghost.
Crazy, crazy, she’s really gone mad!
Summer patted her head, not daring to glance back at the discarded grass ring for even a second. She quickly headed back indoors to wash up and sleep.
Perhaps it was because the bedboard was too hard or because she was in a new environment, but Summer tossed and turned for quite some time, unable to fall asleep. It wasn’t until the sky brightened with the first light of dawn that she lightly drifted off.
However, she hadn’t been asleep long before she suddenly felt a chill on her body—
Someone had lifted her blanket!
Summer was startled, her mind instantly becoming crystal clear.
She instinctively wanted to jump up from the bed and grab the intruder by the neck, but just before she moved, she spotted who had lifted her blanket in the dim morning light.
——It was Old Madam Stanton.
Summer immediately suppressed her urge to grab the person’s neck and closed her eyes, pretending to sleep.
All she could hear was Old Madam Stanton complaining discontentedly, "Not even a reaction, have you slept like a dead pig?! Get up quickly!"
Old Madam Stanton shouted as she nudged Summer’s shoulder.
Summer feigned just waking up, rubbed her eyes, sat up, and asked hoarsely, "Grandma? What’s wrong?"
"What’s wrong? Look at the time! Get up and make breakfast for me! I’m hungry!" Old Madam Stanton said irritably.
"I know, Grandma," Summer replied, getting out of bed to get dressed.
Seeing her being so obedient, Old Madam Stanton had nothing more to say, curled her lips, and turned to leave.
Summer watched Old Madam Stanton’s departing figure and reached up to turn on the room light.
Under the light, the obedient expression on Summer’s face vanished completely, replaced by a cold, sharp indifference.
The phrase "old and disrespectful" might as well have been tailor-made for Old Madam Stanton.
Summer didn’t hurry to get out of bed. She had gone to bed late, so she sat quietly for a moment to collect herself.
Going to bed late and rising early left no one capable of staying sharp.
But she also felt fortunate for having stayed up, reacting a bit slower than usual, otherwise at her usual speed, Old Madam Stanton’s neck might already have been strangled by her.
If that had happened, it would undoubtedly provoke the unreasonable old lady, not to mention Henry Stanton would become suspicious.
Thankfully, nothing happened.
Summer exhaled a breath of stale air, ensuring she was fully awake before getting up to go outside.
But because she had been sitting quietly for a few minutes earlier, once she stepped out, Old Madam Stanton immediately criticized, "Why are you so slow? Did you eat a turtle? I’m so hungry I could die! Hurry up and make me something, the fastest thing you can!"
