The Billionaire CEO Wants to Marry Me Every Day
Chapter 342: The Charred Ones
CHAPTER 342: CHAPTER 342: THE CHARRED ONES
Damian Knight swiftly signed his name, and the sales manager carefully placed the documents back into his briefcase, saying, "After payment, once you provide the necessary documents, we can handle the process for you. In less than a week, the house will be yours. However, before you move in, some items inside need to be removed. The owner’s paintings and wine are still there, it might take a few more days to clear them out."
Damian Knight waved his hand agreeably, "No problem, time isn’t an issue. Just give me the keys once everything is ready, no rush."
The sales manager was overjoyed. Although this client looked intimidating, he was surprisingly agreeable!
The sales manager looked at the burning car in the distance and suddenly found the explosion scene strangely beautiful.
Having signed the contract, Damian Knight headed straight for the explosion site.
By the time he arrived, his men had already put out the fire.
As Damian Knight approached, he was hit by a nauseating, burnt smell.
Isaac Ross was peering into the car, while Ryder Quinn was crouching by the roadside, retching, "Ugh—"
Ignoring the smell, Damian Knight walked over to Isaac Ross and asked, "Any discoveries?"
Isaac Ross shook his head and pointed to the car, "Everything is burnt to a crisp. There are four people inside, each armed."
Damian Knight glanced at the scene inside the car, which was indeed stomach-churning.
Four charred bodies, a sight far beyond what ordinary people could bear.
But he didn’t react as strongly as Ryder Quinn, only knitting his brows slightly, then calmly said, "Extract their DNA. Their boss can’t be far behind; we might find something from these people."
The previously dejected Isaac Ross clapped his hands at the suggestion and said, "Exactly! No matter how well-hidden the mastermind is, his subordinates can’t all have hidden identities too. We might be able to track down their boss this way!"
Hearing this, Ryder Quinn’s eyes brightened, and he stood up to speak, but the very next second, "Ugh—"
He rushed back to the roadside to retch again, thoroughly bewildered inside: Why was he the only one reacting like this? Did these two lose their senses of smell or something, still discussing business?
Not long after, they completed the DNA extraction from the charred bodies, erased their traces from the scene, and quickly withdrew.
Ryder Quinn finally composed himself a bit, rolled down the car window for fresh air, and said, "I’ve suffered a severe trauma. I’m going to take a trip to Southeast Asia to relax. Don’t you dare disturb me."
Ignoring Ryder Quinn, Isaac Ross spoke to Damian Knight, "It’ll take about three days to search global data after the results are out. Do you want to return to the country now or stay here for the news?"
Damian Knight thought for a moment and said, "I’ll head back tomorrow."
"Tomorrow?" Isaac Ross asked in confusion, "It’s still early now. Do you have unfinished business here?"
Damian Knight responded with a brief "Hmm", saying, "I have something important to take care of."
Isaac Ross, knowing Damian Knight’s temperament, didn’t press further, and Ryder Quinn didn’t dare ask either.
He now felt utterly uncomfortable just being in the same space as Damian Knight.
The car soon arrived at the branch office entrance, with their men stationed all around, ready to detect any movement from the enemy.
Damian Knight didn’t leave the car but moved to the driver’s seat.
Ryder Quinn headed straight into the office building without looking back, as if fleeing for his life.
