The Billionaire CEO Wants to Marry Me Every Day
Chapter 353: He’s Back
CHAPTER 353: CHAPTER 353: HE’S BACK
Cece bit her lip, and after two seconds suddenly spoke up: "Miss Monroe, please treat me well, I will definitely cooperate to get my body back to health!"
Summer Monroe breathed a sigh of relief. Her provocation strategy worked.
"Don’t worry, I’ll help you reduce your fever first. Your wound got wet, and it’s infected. I need to clean it again, it might hurt a bit, bear with it."
"Okay!"
Cece nodded cooperatively.
As Summer finished treating the wound, Leah Lowell brought over Summer’s medical kit and also some good news.
"Miss!" Leah said with a big smile, "Young Master Knight is here! He’s in the living room talking to Mr. Stanton. Mr. Stanton asked you to go over; I told him you were burning incense to buy you some time."
Summer’s face lit up with joy.
Damian Knight is back!
During this trip abroad, she was quite worried about his safety. Knowing he returned safely, her heart finally settled down.
However, Cece’s reaction was much more intense than Summer’s.
"Young Master Knight!" Cece attempted to sit up immediately.
Summer quickly pressed her back onto the bed, saying, "I just cleaned your wound, don’t move around! I’ll give you an injection to reduce your fever; you lie down properly, and I’ll bring him to you when I get a chance."
Cece nodded quickly and lay back down obediently.
Summer prepared the medication, gave Cece an injection, then asked Leah to stay and take care of Cece while she went out to the living room.
In the living room.
Henry Stanton was pushing away the gift Damian Knight handed over.
"You went abroad for work; why did you bring me a gift? Don’t waste money..." Henry said, yet took the gift while asking, "Can I open it?"
Damian made a "please" gesture, and Henry immediately and eagerly opened the gift box.
Inside was a beautifully crafted cake.
The joy on Henry’s face froze at the corners of his lips.
Only to hear Damian say, "This is a cake from Aurelia’s most popular bakery, brought back especially for you to try. I queued for two hours to buy this cake. Initially, I planned to bring you an expensive watch, but thought it felt too distant to give such pricey gifts among family, so I brought the cake instead."
Henry’s lips twitched, and he reluctantly squeezed out the words "very thoughtful."
Just as Summer saw this scene, the corners of her mouth curved into a smile.
She quickly put away her smile, lifted her foot into the hall, and said, "Damian, you’re back?"
Damian met Summer’s gaze, and for some reason, his heart suddenly raced a bit.
He cleared his throat, nodded, and said, "Yes, just got back. I brought you a gift."
Henry, looking at the cake, felt quite annoyed. He simply said, "You two are newlyweds; a day apart feels like three years. I won’t bother you, go upstairs to talk."
"Alright, thank you, Dad." Damian said, carrying the gift boxes in both hands as he told Summer, "Let’s go upstairs, I brought you a gift to open upstairs."
"Okay." Summer nodded, smiling radiantly, with eyes seemingly sparkling, like someone genuinely overjoyed to reunite with her husband after a long time apart.
Once again, Damian felt his heart start to race.
Damian was puzzled as to when his heartbeat became so easily erratic.
Without leaving a trace, he pressed the area over his heart and headed upstairs towards Summer’s room with the gift box.
As soon as they entered the room, Summer withdrew all her smiles, checking Damian while asking, "Are you okay? Are you injured anywhere? Did you encounter any danger?"
